The man who is panicking in the video is the woman’s husband and he’s saying “Baba chaku marla tujhe?“, which is Marathi language for “Father stabbed you with knife?”

This happened in the Buldhana district of Maharashtra, India on April 5, 2017.

The victim is not a little girl. She’s a 21 year old woman who’s been identified as Manisha Hingane.

She was attacked with an axe by her father, identified as Balu Shivare, and it was done as part of an honor killing because she purportedly married outside their caste (social status hierarchy).

He’d arranged for her to marry another man, with the wedding scheduled for April 20, 2017.

The man talking to her is her husband, Ganesh, who she’d eloped to marry on March 23, 2017. He took her to a hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Her father went to the police and confessed to killing the dishonorable woman.

The couple returned to their village and assumed that because they were now married, everything and everyone would calmed down. They were wrong.

Her father went to her new husband’s home and found his daughter alone. He then set upon her with an axe.

He’s been charged with murder.

When she said “Those talking about how we should not have ostracized him, you didn’t know this kid. Okay? We did.”, she meant that he was dangerous, not that he was weird.
