What really gets me is that Lemma is not stupid about this. She sees through Isomer's facade completely, recognizes that this woman does care through all the criticisms and the envy and the obsession. She wants her to come back to them even after she “betrayed” them.

Isomer is one of the worst idgafers I’ve ever seen. Had to adapt to climb the ranks and also resorted to corruption as a result and yet the one thing that ultimately drove her motivation was protecting those kids. She’s constantly denying to herself what she truly wants (much less if she deserves it), yet makes herself so known in her actions alone that she can’t fool Chief or Lemma for shit:

It’s in her making sure the kids don’t get involved in any part of her plan, even going as far as removing Lemma from her position as 07. It’s in destroying their idol stuff because she realized they were being spied on by the Underground through Phanuel. It’s in her trying to distance herself as much as possible, making her out to be the bad guy and burning every possible bridge she can when she didn’t even hesitate to sacrifice herself so in attacking 02.

Every action from her feels so deliberate and cruel. And yet, what is the last thing Isomer thinks about though before (presumably) dying? Lemma taking her hand and bringing her back to the rest of the kids. Leading her back because she’s lost her way:

It’s her expressing how proud she is of Lemma, but lamenting that she can’t be there to see any of it. To see her and the kids again. Because to Isomer it’s too late, for she is a fool who was blinded by her own obsessions, but at least she can rest knowing Lemma and the kids are going to be okay 🥹

Okay so what pisses me off when I go look on twitter is the fact that some people ship Isomer and Lemma together

Like no, you don't get the point of the relationship between them

It's seeing someone younger than you being better than you could ever be. It's the jealousy caused by being beneath someone who's "just a kid"

But at the end of the day it is just a kid

It isn't their fault that they want to do better, to go higher in life. You know you should support them, afterall they see you as someone to look up to, but it's hard to come to terms with the fact they'll surpass you soon or already had

The insecurity has already dug deeper than that. You want to succeed, to prove yourself to the world that you cannot fall behind

And even after everything Isomer has done she's still wanted in the Hub. Because she's someone who guided them, someone who protected them so they can focus on expanding their studies. And yet was the one who betrayed them, almost causing them the same damage she suffered in her youth
