quietly shoves yuuko back here again at @infragments

@yuukohan ! [from: [x]]
He’d mentioned it in passing, the view of desserts luring the comment out of him before he has a chance to stop it, but the other has a ready response—and quite a detailed one at that!
“A cake connoisseur …?” He wonders aloud, his hand rising to press against his mouth as he clears his throat. Oops. That should have remained a thought… “Is there really a contrast like that? If you don’t mind… trying them out would be great! Can I take a seat here?”
“Please do.”
Yuuko didn’t seem to mind at all --- or perhaps, she hadn’t even heard the remark. Just having these cakes available to try was more than enough for her, particularly with a willing, listening ear. As sad as it was, there weren’t many people who could hold their own against her appetite and cared more than sating their hunger.
She cut into her fork and offered him a bite, holding it out. “Here.” It was the one she’d mentioned. The nice tartness that’d cut across all that sweet in a desirable way.

He couldn’t really say he was convinced, honestly. For Yuuko it even seemed to take a moment for the situation to register. And Yuugo certainly didn’t want to relent so easily… Even so, his legs were beginning to hurt a bit. First giving a sigh he relinquished his hold on their shoulder and moved to slump heavily into his seat again.
Still, as soon as he did so a gaze was settled on Yuuko that was his attempt to look stern.
“I-It’s true that t-today’s just as warm as the other days h-have been, but… mm…” He held a deep frown on his face even so. “G-Go find something to help yourself c-cool off at least…”
These days he’s usually the one being worried over, but he’ll still attempt to be the big brother every so often now that he was better recovered in comparison to first coming home. ( That feels like ages ago now since I first woke up, he thought to himself briefly. )
They glanced at the table, seeing the once ice cool cup melted. If it wasn’t for the coaster, the table would have been just as ruined, but it wasn’t like they couldn’t understand his concerns. And, it was touching, really. It reminded them of the old days, before digimon and before things had gone so wrong.
“Mhm. I will.” The screens before them had darkened from inactivity by now, but they didn’t feel like getting up just yet. Instead, they’d let out a small yawn. “Eventually.”
They turned towards Yuugo then, using the whole weight of the computer chair to turn. He looked in no better shape than they did, if only in a different way. They reached for the remote on the air conditioning, altering it a little. Maybe it wasn’t as hot as they’d imagined now that it was working again, but too much would easily lead to a cold.
“I think I’m more tired, but I could use a break.” They smiled. “How was your day?”
❝ have you ever tried the cakes? they’re actually quite delicious. ❞
Between bites of their cake, Yuuko chews quickly, almost eager to shovel in the next bite full. It’s hard to maintain some semblance of dignity while doing so, but if there’s an untapped talent she had, it would be that. She only stops after the slice on her place is almost gone, and wipes her lips lightly.
“The sharp citrus taste cuts through the sweetness wonderfully,” Yuuko comments. “I was told the ones on the left are oddly savory in comparison. Would you like to try them with me?”
Leave 'Lived long enough to become the villain' to get a glimpse of my muse being a villain.
Alternatively, leave ‘Had a change of heart’ to see my muse become the hero.

He didn’t really know if he should bother Yuuko, but watching his twin nod off every so often was concerning. Brows cinching together completely, he carefully braced his weight against the wall and stumbled over to grip their shoulder.
“H-Hey… don’t push yourself t-too hard…” Like Yuugo was one to talk, but the only thing in his mind right now was checking on whether or not the other was okay. So despite a small sway in his step, his resolve was enough to keep him on his feet for now. He would sit back down momentarily, when he was reassured.
His words didn’t quite register at first. Yuuko’s eyes were almost glazed over in that half-wake daze, but they’d noticed the sway to their side, stirring those gears in their head. They’d recognized that gentle timbre, bringing them to blink a few times.
“ ... ah.” They sat up properly, rubbing the sand out of their eyes. “Nii-sama.” If it wasn’t for the fact the action might have startled him enough to fall, Yuuko would have jumped to their feet and grabbed a chair for him. “ ... I’m okay. It’s just very warm today, isn’t it?” The bright, relentless sun against the cool air conditioning brought an interesting mimicry to a dogday afternoon feel. “Please, have a seat. I shouldn’t keep you standing.”
Yuuko’s seemed to be nodding off. They already lifted their head thrice in the past fifteen minutes, but they’re still too determined to get up and leave. There .. wasn’t that much work to be done, was there?

Arata raised a brow, but gave a slight shrug as he looked back to his drink. Whatever was left was chugged down as well, before he focused back on Yuuko, almost about to ask what’s wrong but deciding not to. He was probably the last person that they’d answer that kind of question for.
So instead, he cast another anxious glance back up at the clock.
“But that depends on the doctor too, doesn’t it? Can you go check on him?”
Yuuko looks back at him almost sharply. In general, they like to give her brother privacy while at his appointments, if only because they can understand how cumbersome their actions (and, perhaps his,) could be when they did things like this. It would be awkward to walk into the room and find that he was saying something in regards to how overbearing the younger twin was and---
Right, as if he would say something like that.
“You don’t even have to ask.”
They say, throwing the can in the proper receptacle before heading off to find Yuugo.

Yuugo heaves a sigh, before finally pulling himself to sit up properly so that they can converse better. It’s probably rude of him to just lay here like a limp noodle anyway, so he leans his back against the pillows instead and hugs his knees.
“Y-Yes please.”
Anything to get rid of this heated feeling, he’ll take the cold over the hot at this point because at least if he gets too cold he can just pile on a blanket and not feel like he’s dying. Which is probably overdramatic but heck, the heat has him nauseated and there’s sweat covering his forehead and face, leading him trying to quickly swipe it away with a hand.
“Mhm. I’ll be right back then.”
Climbing back onto her feet, Yuuko leaves the room. The fridge feels nice to leave open, but she snags a few things from it. While ice chips were definitely nice feeling, she could make a little something out of the fruits they had in the fridge left over from the other day, right?
The housekeeper does help with some of the---most of the work, and she takes the results: two milkshakes and a nice pack that she knows is generally used for injuries, but she doubted he’d mind in this heat.
She walks back into her room, placing the tray on the table before lifting a glass to hand over to Yuugo. “I hope you don’t mind this one instead. Just ice wouldn’t be, ah, as filling?” She doubted either of them would want to eat more than --- maybe he wouldn’t want to eat as much for dinner. Hah. This was more than enough to sate her for now, at least.

He had hardly heard someone entering the room, what with his face burrowed into the pillow, but the hum of a fan turning on prompts him to lift his head and turn it just enough to see Yuuko standing by the desk in her room. Ah… He should’ve known, since it is her room, that she’d be the one in here. Though he’s partly claimed it as his own, preferring that to staying in his own by himself mostly. “I…dunno how much more I can take of this.” He mumbles as he flops his head back down against the pillow and watches her from his spot, face visibly flushed from the immense heat.
Yuuko doesn’t mind --- she never does, and probably never will --- this habit of his. Frankly, she finds some comfort in it too. It’s an ending she’d only dreamed of before, in that other world, the original? It was too hot to be thinking about things like that.
She ends up flopping (somehow with some grace) onto the chair, keeping her attention on the fan which turned on its own, moving from herself to her brother and back.
“ ... should I get some ice chips?” Some to eat, some to just keep them cool. Although, it might be a little too cold for the two of them. Maybe a cool drink would be enough. With all the sweat that came with this summer heat, even taking a bath didn’t seem to work. It just drew back that wet, sticky feeling even more.
Yuugo is just going to lay face down on the bed now, hardly bothering with blankets. It’s another hot night, it feels like.
Although the stores have sold out of air conditioning, Yuuko does have a fan to use. She plops it over on her desk, pointing in Yuugo’s direction. They really need to get their air conditioning fixed soon.
@yuukohan liked for a starter!
Shinjuku had always been a busy place, but an especially large crowd had gathered today for the long-anticipated grand opening of a bakery chain that was famous overseas. Special Promotion, read the bakery’s banner in big, bold letters. Try our famous chocolate cake, and learn to make it too!
Grabbing a recipe might be nice, even if it would surely be a more generic, watered-down version of the actual cake, so Yu decided to go check it out. He’s been standing here for a while, though, and it’s impossible not to get restless as the line inched forward at a snail’s pace. Letting out a slightly impatient huff, he craned his neck to look over the shoulder of the person in front of him.
“Their cake must be really good, to attract such a crowd…”
“It is,” came the automatic answer as Yuuko side stepped away, inching close to the wall at the invasion of personal space. Usually, it would be enough to send her away, but the subject at hand wasn’t either of them but what was to come --- food. “The owner was originally from this area, so after they’d made a name for themselves overseas, they had been planning on returning.”
She swallowed as she remembered how good some of their sweets were when she’d traveled last. It was just the right amount of savory sweetness. The delicate balance was maintained without a massive hit to knock one out into oblivion and---
“If my word isn’t proof enough, there are a few famous food bloggers here.” She pointed to a woman with an expensive looking camera in hand. “That woman’s harsh on sweets, particularly the texture.” Then to a man who looked as though he had come out of a photo shoot,” the model there is infamous for his sweet tooth.”
