The next morning, the villa is filled with a different kind of energy. Tyler's absence has lifted a weight off everyone's shoulders. Laughter echoes through the bedroom as the girls get ready while the boys tease each other downstairs.
Timo is already in the kitchen making coffee, but this time he is only making coffee for one other person. Y/N walks into the kitchen, still rubbing the sleep from her eyes, when she spots Timo already standing by the coffee machine.
“You've started your morning shift again?” she asks with a grin.
Timo glances over his shoulder, smiling when he sees her. “Someone has to keep this villa functioning.”
She laughs quietly as she accepts it. “That was smooth.”
“I wasn't trying to be smooth.”
“No?”
“No.” He shrugs, completely serious. “It's just true.”
Before she can answer, Harry walks into the kitchen dramatically.
“Ouch,” he groans, placing a hand over his heart. “You two couldn't wait until after breakfast to make me feel single?”
Y/N laughs, nudging Harry with her shoulder.
“We're literally drinking coffee.”
“Exactly. Even your coffee chats have chemistry.”
Everyone laughs as Harry steals one of the croissants from the counter and wanders away again. Lily walks into the kitchen, and Timo immediately straightens.
“Morning, Lily.”
Later that morning all the girls are gathered around the firepit. Eleanor practically vibrates with excitement.
“Guys, Bodhi is unreal,” she says, hiding her face in her hands.
“He's gorgeous,” Jade agrees. As if summoned, Bodhi walks over. Tall, tanned and smiling.
“Morning, everyone.” He hugs Eleanor first. Then his eyes land on Y/N. “Morning.”
“Morning,” she smiles, and Bodhi smiles back for slightly too long.
Harry immediately notices. “Oh, interesting.”
Throughout the morning, Bodhi keeps gravitating toward Y/N. He joins her while she's sunbathing. He sits beside her at lunch. He even helps her dry dishes, and he eventually pulls Y/N for a chat.
“Can I steal you?” he asks with a smile.
“Of course.” They settle on the on one of the daybeds.
“Did Eleanor tell you she's obsessed with you?” Y/N teases.
Bodhi laughs. “She told me everyone in here is obsessed with everyone.”
“Fair.” Y/N giggles.
“But honestly?” he says quietly. “I wanted to speak to you first,” Bodhi admits. “Yesterday, after my date with Eleanor, I got to see everyone together. I couldn't help but notice you.”
Y/N smiles politely.
“In a good way,” he quickly adds. “You seem genuine. You don't involve yourself in drama, everyone here clearly loves you... and you're obviously gorgeous.”
“Thank you.” She blushes.
“I know everyone probably expects me to continue getting to know Eleanor because we had a good date.”
“You did seem to get on.”
“We did.” He nods. “But that's exactly why I wanted to chat to you. I don't want to close myself off after one date.”
“I respect that.”
“So...” he smiles. “Would you be open to getting to know me?”
Y/N thinks for a second before nodding. “I would.”
“Perfect.” His face lights up. They spend the next half hour talking about travelling, their families and what brought them onto Love Island. It's easy and comfortable.
As they walk back towards the villa, Bodhi smiles. “I definitely made the right decision pulling you.”
“We'll see if you still think that after another conversation.” Y/N laughs.
“I've got a good feeling.”
Across the garden, Timo has been looking over at the two of them. Lily, sitting beside him, follows his gaze.
“You're looking over there a lot.”
Timo doesn't even try to deny it. “I know.”
“You really like her.”
“Yeah.” He lets out a small laugh.
Lily smiles sadly. “I figured.”
“But I haven’t really had the chance to chat with her today,” he shrugs.
“Well, if you really feel the connection between the two of you.”
“I know, but I am in a couple with you. I don’t want you to feel bad.”
“Honestly, Timo…” Lily sighs. “This is making me feel worse. Like, I came in here to look for love, and I thought you could be that, but your head has already been spun. And that is totally okay with me, but like just say that then.”
Timo looks over at her, he has been cruel to her not exploring their couple and just watching Y/N everywhere she goes. It’s crazy it’s day three and he’s acting like he is closed off.
“I’m sorry, truly,” he says and grabs her hand.
“Well thank you for the apology.”
Not long afterwards, Timo catches Y/N walking towards the kitchen.
“Can I steal you?” he asks.
She smiles immediately. “You don't have to ask.”
They wander over to the terrace where it's quieter.
“So...” Y/N says as they sit down. “How are things with Lily?”
Timo sighs dramatically and drops his head back. “I feel bad.”
“Why?”
“She's lovely.”
“But?”
“But every conversation somehow ends with me talking about you.”
“Timo!” Y/N covers her face with her hands.
“What?” he laughs.
“You cannot tell her that.”
“I don't mean to.”
She shakes her head, laughing. “You are unbelievable.”
“I know.”
A comfortable silence settles between them. Eventually Timo looks at her. “I saw you chatting with Bodhi.”
“You did.”
“How was it?”
“It was nice.” She decides not to share too much about their conversation.
His smile falters ever so slightly. “You like him?”
“I think he's sweet.”
Timo nods slowly. “Well, I can't exactly complain.”
“No?”
“I'm literally coupled up with someone else.” He laughs quietly.
Y/N studies him for a moment. “You know... I was worried yesterday.”
“About?”
“That things would change.”
“They haven't.” His eyes immediately meet hers.
“No?”
“They won't.” The certainty in his voice makes her smile. “I still want to get to know you.”
“I still want that too,” she says as her smile widens. Without thinking, his hand finds hers on the bench between them. Neither of them says anything. They simply sit there, fingers intertwined.
Throughout the afternoon, the islanders play games in the pool, sunbathe and joke around. Whenever Y/N looks up, she somehow catches Timo looking at her.
Harry notices it too so he nudges Ezra. “They're hopeless.”
“They're basically coupled up without actually being coupled up.” Ezra chuckles.
Just before sunset someone’s phone buzzes.
“I've got a text!” Mila shouts. The islanders gather around.
Islanders... Tonight there will be a recoupling where the boys will choose which girl they would like to couple up with. #ChoicesChoices #GoodLuckGirls
Everyone immediately begins getting ready. The girls are finishing their make-up when another phone buzzes. It belongs to Timo.
“I've got a text!” he calls from downstairs. Everyone gathers in the dressing room doorway and on the landing. Timo opens the message before laughing in disbelief.
Islanders... As Lily stole Timo at the previous recoupling, Timo is not permitted to choose a girl tonight. Timo and Lily will remain coupled up. #RulesAreRules
The villa erupts.
“No way!”
“That's brutal.”
Harry claps Timo on the shoulder. “Mate... that's rough.”
Timo looks straight at Y/N.
Night falls and the familiar firepit glows beneath the stars. Everyone takes their seats as Maja walks into the villa. “Hello, Islanders.”
“Hello!”
“Tonight it's time for another recoupling. As you know, Timo and Lily will remain together after yesterday's twist, meaning Timo will not make a choice tonight.” Timo simply nods.
“As our newest bombshell, Bodhi, you'll be choosing first.”
Bodhi stands. He smiles nervously before looking towards the girls. “The girl I'd like to couple up with is someone I only met yesterday, but from our conversations today I feel like she's exactly the kind of person I wanted to meet when I came in here.”
He glances at Y/N. “She's kind, funny, genuine... and I'd really like the chance to explore what could be there.”
He smiles. “So the girl I'd like to couple up with is... Y/N.”
Y/N smiles in surprise before standing up. She hugs the girls before walking over. Bodhi opens his arms and she hugs him.
“I'm looking forward to getting to know you,” he whispers.
“So am I.” Timo watches them with a smile that doesn't quite reach his eyes.
Maja smiles. “Harry, you're next.”
Harry stands confidently. “The girl I'm choosing is someone who's stayed true to herself since day one.”
He smiles warmly at Eleanor. “She's honest, she's caring and she's got the biggest heart in this villa.”
Eleanor smiles already knowing. “So the girl I'd like to couple up with is... Eleanor.”
“You made me nervous!” She walks over laughing.
“I had to build suspense.” She hugs him tightly before they sit down together.
“Paxton, you're up next.”
Paxton smiles at Mila. “Getting to know this girl has honestly been effortless.”
He shrugs with a grin. “We laugh constantly, we challenge each other and I honestly don't want to start over.”
He nods towards her. “So, I'd like to stay coupled up with... Mila.”
She beams as she joins him. “I was hoping you'd say that.”
“I know.”
“Kian.” Kian gets to his feet.
“The girl I'm choosing has such a fun personality.” Jade grins already.
“She makes every day entertaining, and I honestly feel like we've only scratched the surface.” He smiles. “So I'd like to couple up with... Jade.”
She practically skips over before wrapping him in a hug. “Good choice.”
“I thought so.”
“Ezra, you’re up next.”
Ezra smiles. “The girl I'm choosing is calm, intelligent and somehow always knows exactly what to say.”
“I feel really comfortable around her.” He looks at Ivy. “So I'd like to couple up with... Ivy.”
“I'm glad.” Ivy smiles softly before joining him.
“So am I.”
Silence settles around the firepit. Only Seraphina remains standing.
Maja walks over. “Seraphina... as none of the boys have chosen to couple up with you tonight, your Love Island journey has come to an end.”
The girls immediately begin crying.
Seraphina laughs through her tears. “Oh God... don't make me cry.”
“You've been my biggest cheerleader.” Y/N wraps her in the biggest hug.
“And you better keep finding love,” Seraphina whispers into her ear.
“I'll try.”
She hugs every single girl before moving to the boys.
Harry kisses the top of her head. “You've been one of the best people in here.”
“Don't get too emotional now.”
“I'll miss you.”
Finally, she hugs Timo. “You better sort your life out.”
“I'm trying.” He laughs.
“You've got a good one.”
“I know.”
She gives Lily a quick hug before she walks towards the villa doors. “Good luck, everyone!”
The islanders call goodbye as she disappears inside. A heavy silence lingers around the firepit. Beside Bodhi, Y/N glances across at Timo. Across the flames, he meets her eyes. Neither of them says a word, they don't have to. Timo feels jealous watching Bodhi with his arm around Y/N’s waist.
They all get up and walk away from the firepit. Timo grabs Y/N wrist immediately.
“Want to chat?” he says and nods towards to hideaway. Y/N looks over at him and nods. They take a seat on the swing, they sit very closely together. Y/N’s legs are across Timo’s lap.
“I am very angry about tonight,” Timo confesses as he looks away from Y/N face and just looks at her legs. His hand is placed on her knee, and he is tracing circles with his thumb.
“About what?” she says as looks over at his face.
“I really wanted to pick you. Like I was excited about being able to continue this and then I got the text and I got scared.”
“No baby, why?” At the nickname his face shoots up and he looks her in the eye.
“I am afraid that because we are not in a couple… you might actually want to explore things with Bodhi,” he starts. “And you have every right to, but it’s just gonna suck for me.”
“Well he is really nice.” Y/N lifts her hand up and caresses Timo’s cheek. “But he is not you.”
Timo looks even deeper into her eyes, and he melts when her hand touches his cheek.
“Can I kiss you?” he whispers, almost scared of her answer.
“I mean… we aren’t in a couple, and I think that would be rude to our respective couple.” But she leans in anyways. “But I really want to kiss you too.”
Timo blushes as he leans in further as well. “Just a quick kiss. I almost forgot how good of a kisser you are. That challenge feels so long ago.”
“Just a quick one then,” she says before the closes the gap between them. However, what was supposed to be a short and sweet kiss turns into so much more. Their tongues get very involved in the kiss and before they even know it five minutes have passed and they get the signal that they have to get ready for bed.
“That was such a good kiss,” Timo whispers. “Thank you for the reminder.”
“Yeah, it was.” They keep looking into each other’s eyes for a little longer before they finally get up and get ready for bed.
When she gets to the dressing room the girls are all curious about what happened. They tell her that Bodhi was looking for her. She tells them about the kiss and that it wasn’t supposed to be a full snog, but one thing led to another. She feels bad about Bodhi though because he is a very nice guy. Y/N tells the girls that she wants to tell Bodhi herself before all the girls walk to the bedroom.
Y/N gets under the covers with Bodhi and he leans over.
“Do you want a kiss or a cuddle or nothing?” he asks her.
“Yeah, we can cuddle if you want.” She turns her back to him and lets him be the bigger spoon. However, in her heart, she feels so bad. She looks over at Timo’s bed to find him already looking at her. And then the lights turn off.
Warning(s): mentions of Y/N. The Tyler character is an ass.
Characters
The islanders slowly wake up as the lights in the bedroom turn on. They all immediately look over at Tyler’s bed. He still hasn’t taken his eye mask off and he is still completely unaware that Y/N and Timo haven’t spent the night here.
In the Hideaway the first thing Y/N becomes aware of is warmth. Not the soft mattress beneath her or the morning sunlight filtering through the curtains, but the heavy arm wrapped around her waist and the steady rise and fall of Timo’s chest against her back. She smiles sleepily before turning around slightly, finding his face only inches away. His hair is messy and his eyes are still closed, but somehow, he still looks ridiculously handsome. As if he can feel her staring, one eye slowly opens.
“Morning,” he mumbles, his Swiss accent thick with sleep.
“Morning.”
He smiles lazily. “You alright?”
Y/N nods. “Best sleep I've had in ages.”
“That’s because you had me as a cuddle buddy.”
She laughs quietly. “I'll keep that in mind.”
Timo grins before pulling her closer for another minute. Neither of them wants to get up. Eventually they do, and reality is waiting outside.
Everyone is already awake and just lying in their beds chatting when Timo and Y/N walk into the bedroom together.
“What the fuck?” Tyler sits upright immediately and the entire room goes quiet. “You actually slept in there?” he asks, glaring at Y/N.
She stops in her tracks. “You told me to find somewhere else to sleep.”
“That was before you ran off with him!”
“You literally said she could fuck right off,” Harry reminds him.
Tyler ignores him and says, “So now you're playing happy families?”
“Mate, relax,” Ezra says.
“Unbelievable.” Tyler scoffs.
Later that morning, Timo stands in the kitchen. He pours coffee into two mugs, one exactly the way Y/N likes it and the other one just black for himself. Then he notices Eleanor laughing with Seraphina nearby and pauses. His heart breaks a little for her, Eleanor has been nothing but kind to him and so understanding of their situation, she doesn’t deserve to feel bad. With a small sigh, he places two more mugs on the counter, and then two more. By the time he's finished, eight coffees are lined up.
“Guys!” he calls. “Coffee!” The girls practically cheer.
“Oh my God,” Eleanor laughs. “Acts of service! You're my dream man.” Which makes everyone laugh.
“I just figured everyone could use one,” Timo says casually. Across the kitchen, Y/N catches his eye. She knows exactly who that first coffee is really meant for. He gives her a tiny wink, and suddenly she finds herself smiling into her mug.
Tyler, however, spends the whole morning acting like a complete asshole. Every comment he makes is just passive aggressive.
“Must be nice sleeping in the Hideaway.”
“The happy couple's here.”
“Didn't know we were moving this fast.”
Eventually, Y/N has enough, and she finds him by the pool side to pull him for a chat. “Tyler, can we talk?”
He shrugs. “Go on.”
“I know this situation isn't ideal, and I don't want to hurt you. But it's day two and—”
“Day two and you've already mugged me off!”
She blinks. “I haven't mugged you off—”
“Yes, you have!” His voice rises. “You embarrassed me in front of everyone!”
“Tyler, please—” Y/N tries to speak but Tyler screams over whatever she was trying to say.
“No! Don't act innocent!”
Because Tyler raised his voice, the other islanders were looking over at them in concern.
“You've done everything wrong!” His voice is loud now. “And everyone thinks I'm some prick because you fancy him!”
“Mate.” Harry walks over to them immediately. “Enough.”
Paxton walks over too. “Lower your voice.”
“She asked you to stop.” Ezra says as he steps between them.
Timo is by Y/N's side within seconds. “Don't shout at her.”
“Oh, here comes Captain Save-A-Hoe.” Tyler laughs bitterly. That comment makes every boy go silent.
“Watch your mouth,” Timo says sharply. For the first time, his voice is cold.
Kian grabs Tyler by the shoulder. “Walk away, man.” With that Tyler throws his hands up before storming off.
Y/N just stands there and then tears start rolling down her cheeks. Without saying a word, she walks into the dressing room.
The second she enters, the girls surround her.
“Oh, babe…” Mila wraps her arms around her while Jade hugs her from the other side.
“He shouted at me,” Y/N sobs. “I was trying to be nice and clear everything up, he didn’t even listen or let me speak.”
“You did nothing wrong,” Ivy says softly.
“He's an idiot,” Seraphina says immediately.
Eleanor pulls her into a hug. “You are literally the sweetest person in here.”
Y/N buries her face in her hands. “I almost want to leave. This will all go away if I walk.”
“No!” All six girls answer at once.
“Absolutely not,” Mila says.
“Tyler can leave,” Jade mutters as she points towards the door.
“We just got you,” Ivy says and wraps her arms around Y/N, pulling her into another hug.
“And Timo would cry,” Seraphina laughs.
Y/N lets out a watery laugh. “Stop.”
“No seriously,” Eleanor grins. “That man follows you around with heart eyes.”
Later, Timo finds her on the terrace. “Are you okay?”
Y/N looks up at him and smiles softly. “Better.”
He takes a seat beside her and pulls her legs onto his lap. His fingers drawing circles on her leg absentmindedly. And there in the comfortable bubble they have created, they talk for what feels like hours. They talk about their families, travelling, embarrassing stories, their favourite foods, literally everything and nothing.
At some point Timo makes a joke as Y/N takes a sip from her water bottle and she laughs so hard she nearly spits out her water.
“I really like talking to you,” she admits.
Timo smiles at her before he says, “Me too.” He looks at her fondly. “I think you're becoming my favourite part of being here.”
Y/N feels herself blush. “By day two?”
“I'm efficient.” He shrugs.
She laughs. “You really are intense.”
“The athlete allegations again?” He gasps dramatically.
“No protein powder jokes this time.” She laughs harder.
“Thank God.”
Neither of them notices Harry sitting at the firepit, watching them and grinning from ear to ear.
“Those two are gone,” he tells Ezra.
“Absolutely finished,” Ezra agrees.
Suddenly Harry's phone buzzes, he stands up and announces to the villa, “I've got a text!” Everyone gathers around.
Islanders, tonight a bombshell will enter the villa. She will take two boys on dates before stealing one boy at tonight's recoupling. #NewGirlEnergy #SorryNotSorry
The villa erupts.
That evening as everyone is getting ready, something feels off.
“Why are we getting a bombshell at day two?” Mila says, “And why can she steal a boy already?”
Eleanor shrugs. “I don’t know. I just hope she leaves Y/N and Timo alone.”
“She can have Tyler if she wants. I don’t think anyone in here is interested in that man anymore,” Seraphina offers. “How can you be such a jealous and possessive prick?”
Nobody answers her, because truly there is no answer to give. They make their way down to the garden. Timo compliments Y/N on her outfit which makes Tyler roll his eyes. Nobody cares to make a comment, they’re just happy he is staying quiet. The boys all take a seat at the firepit while the girls all take a seat at the lounge, watching from afar as the bombshell enters.
“Hello boys!” she says with a big smile on her face. She’s gorgeous, tall, blonde and incredibly confident. “My name is Lily and for my first date, I pick Tyler!”
Tyler practically jumps off the beanbags with a big ass smile on his face that he doesn’t even bother to hide. The other islanders smile politely but nobody wishes him good luck. Everyone is just very excited to have almost an hour without him around the house. As soon as Tyler leaves, the whole vibe in the villa changes.
“Damn, imagine having this much peace always,” Harry mentions.
“I just hope she picks him,” Y/N says, but the other girls disagree.
“Don’t say that! You might have to leave if you are single.” Mila gives her a disapproving look.
“Yeah… true. I just don’t want to share a bed with that creep. He really gives me the ick. And I don’t want to take Timo away from Eleanor again. She deserves to explore that connection.”
“Babe, don’t even bother. You have a great connection with Timo, I won’t stand in the way of that!” Eleanor says as she grabs Y/N’s hand and gives it a squeeze.
The islanders settle in different places around the villa. Timo and Y/N are both at the poolside with their legs in the water chatting, but then an hour later Tyler returns.
“Oi oi!” He shouts as he walks arm in arm with Lily. Nobody is happy to see him back, nobody asks how his date was, because frankly nobody cares.
“For my second date…” Lily announces, “I’ll take Timo.”
Y/N smiles supportively. “Have fun.”
“See you soon.” Timo squeezes her hand before he gets up and leaves with Lily.
Just to be polite the boys settle around the firepit as Tyler shares how truly amazing his date has been.
“She is so wonderful. I really hope that she picks me tonight. I wanna share a bed with that, if you know what I mean.” He is practically buzzing with excitement. All the other boys can think about is the same thing, but for a different reason. At least Y/N will be safe from him.
When Timo returns from his date with Lily, his eyes immediately search for Y/N, and Lily notices. During the date he didn’t flirt with her, he didn’t touch her in any way, and they didn’t even walk back to the villa arm in arm.
Soon the evening falls and the islanders get ready before they all gather around the firepit. They’re holding each other’s hands as Maja walks into the villa again.
“Hello, Islanders.” Maja smiles. “Today our new bombshell Lily took two of the boys on a date. Lily could you please stand next to me.”
Lily gets up with a big grin on her face.
“You had two lovely dates, but it is now time to make you decision.”
Lily glances around the firepit, at all the nervous faces. “The boy I would like to couple up with is…” She looks directly at Timo. “Timo.”
Everyone gasps and Tyler again looks really pissed off. Eleanor smiles sadly as she gets up to stand next to Maja.
“Well, babes. Good luck.”
Lily hugs Timo before taking a seat next to him. Inside, Timo feels his stomach sink, because all he can think about is Y/N.
“Not to worry, Eleanor. Your journey isn’t over yet. You are however now single, but you don’t have to leave the villa just yet. There is a boy outside who is dying to take you on a date.” Maja explains before Eleanor screams.
“Oh my God, really?!” Maja laughs and nods her head before she lets Eleanor go. However, Maja doesn’t leave.
“Sadly, I also have some bad news this evening,” Maja continues, “Tyler, because of your actions the producers find that you have created an unsafe environment for the girls and the boys… and because of that, you need to leave the villa immediately.” Without saying anything, Tyler storms off and Maja follows him back into the villa.
“At least you don’t have to share a bed with him tonight,” Seraphina whispers in Y/N’s ear and she cannot help but breathe a sigh of relief.
The islanders get up from the firepit and walk off in different directions. Timo and the boys settle down on the couch underneath the terrace and the girls, except for Lily, made their way over to the daybeds.
“I am so happy for her,” Y/N says with a small smile on her face. “I really hope he is as wonderful as she is.”
“Girl, we aren’t thinking about that. What the fuck, that bombshell just stole your man!” Jade exclaims. “You should be fucking pissed off.”
Y/N just shrugs her shoulders. “There is nothing I can change about that though.” She looks over at the guys and then at Lily who looks very lost at this point. She can see Lily walk over to Timo.
“Can we have a chat?” She can hear her say from across the garden. But Timo spots Y/N sitting on the daybeds with the girls.
“Can we do it later?” he asks. “I just need two minutes.” And before Lily can answer, he's already walking over to Y/N. “You alright?”
“Yeah.” She smiles. The girls all excuse themselves and leave Timo and Y/N alone to chat.
“I am happy that Tyler is gone, at least you don’t have to share a bed with him tonight,” Timo says and rubs his hands over his face. He looks very relieved.
Y/N just nods her head and looks at him. “Timo.”
“Hm?”
“That was kind of rude,” she comments.
“What?” He blinks.
“Lily just picked you and you just blow her off.”
He sighs. “I don't understand why.”
“I do.” Y/N laughs softly.
“You do?”
“She likes you.”
“But I didn't give her any signs.” Timo sounds very frustrated.
“Timo,” she says, smiling. “You're handsome, funny and sweet. You don't need to give signs.”
He shakes his head. “I only want to talk to you.”
“I know.” Y/N smiles sadly.
He looks at her. “And now?”
“It's day two,” she says softly. “We can still get to know each other, but you have to chat with her. You are in a couple now.”
“But what if you find someone else?” He says and panic is forming on his face. Totally ignoring your comment.
She laughs. “No promises on Love Island.”
“Cruel woman.” He groans dramatically.
“But you really need to go and apologise.”
He sighs. “Do I?” He grabs her hand and his thumb caresses the back of her hand.
“Yes.” Y/N nods.
“She'll survive.”
“Timo.”
He smiles. “Okay, boss.”
“And be nice,” Y/N adds with a smile on her face.
“Yes, boss.”
“And don't blow her off.”
“Yes, boss.” He laughs when she swats his arm. Then his smile softens. “I really like you, you know.”
Her cheeks turn pink. “And that's exactly why you should go talk to Lily.”
“You're unbelievable.” He shakes his head with a smile.
“So, I've been told.” He quickly kisses her cheek before he gets up and walks back towards Lily. Y/N watches him go with a smile. Even though her “man” got stolen, she’s finally happy. Tyler is gone and Eleanor is on a date. She wonders if Lily picked Tyler, would he have been removed from the villa still? She shakes her head at the thought, it’s not something she should wonder.
Y/N makes her way over the lounge where the boys and the rest of the girls are now settled.
“How is everyone’s evening?” she asks kindly. Harry stands up and gives her a big hug.
“We are doing great. How are you holding up?”
“Fine, just happy that there is some peace and quiet,” she answers truthfully. “Also very happy that I get to share a night in the bedroom with you guys. Cannot wait to starfish.” That makes everyone laugh. She takes a seat between Ezra and Paxton and looks over at Timo and Lily. “I just really hope that at the next recoupling Timo picks me.”
“Girl, if it was up to the boys, he would’ve already picked you!” Ivy chirps and the rest of the islanders agree.
Soon Eleanor returns from her date with a big smile on her face. “Honey, I’m home!” she yells and everyone screams as they get up and make their way over to her and the new bombshell. The bombshell introduces himself to everyone, he gives all the girls a hug and the guys a pat on the back.
“Well Bodhi, you have arrived just in time. We are heading towards the bedroom,” Kian says.
Because Eleanor and Bodhi aren’t coupled up yet, they each get a single bed upstairs and Y/N can stay in her double bed by herself. It looks weird now that Tyler’s name has been taken off, but it is for the best.
“Goodnight, my loves!” Y/N shouts as she gets under the covers.
“Goodnight my queen!” Mila shouts back, before the lights in the bedroom turn off.
I am going on vacation soon, so all the Love Island posts are scheduled to come out while I am away. There will be two per week. I cannot wait for you all to read them. When I get back, I will write the other parts.
I will not be writing any requests. I am so sorry, but to get me out of my writer's block, I have to write about what I want to read, and requests make that difficult for me. Sorry!
A/N: And here is the first episode of our new love island series! I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

Characters
The late afternoon sun glows over the villa, painting everything in warm gold as the first pair of girls step through the entrance. Mila and Ivy squeal the moment they see the sparkling pool, immediately pulling each other into a hug despite having only just met. They grab two champagne glasses from the kitchen island and pop the cork, before they walk toward the firepit, laughing nervously.
“This is mental,” Mila laughs, tucking a strand of blonde hair behind her ear as she looks around. “Like…we're actually here.”
“I know!” Ivy grins, clinking her glass against hers. “I'm sweating and I haven't even seen a man yet.”
Not long after, Eleanor and Jade enter arm in arm, already giggling as they join the girls by the firepit. Hugs are exchanged all around and introductions follow naturally. Soon after, Seraphina and Y/N make their entrance together. Seraphina lets out a dramatic gasp at the size of the villa while Y/N stands beside her with a bright smile, taking everything in.
“This place is gorgeous,” Y/N murmurs, taking a sip of champagne.
The six girls settle around the firepit, instantly falling into conversation.
“So, girls,” Ivy says, crossing her legs and smiling mischievously. “What's everyone's type?”
“Tall,” Jade answers immediately, making everyone laugh. “I don't care about much else. Tall and funny.”
“Rugby player build,” Mila admits with a grin. “Big arms. Tattoos. Protective.”
“I like quiet confidence,” Seraphina says thoughtfully. “Not loud. Someone who can make me laugh.”
Eleanor smiles into her glass. “Golden retriever energy. I don't want someone too serious.”
“What about you, Y/N?” Jade asks curiously.
Y/N shrugs with a soft smile. “Honestly? I don't really have a physical type. I go off vibes. Like, if someone's energy feels right, I'm in.”
“And love languages?” Seraphina asks.
“Physical touch,” Mila says immediately.
“Words of affirmation,” Ivy adds.
“Acts of service,” Eleanor says with a smile. “Make me coffee and I'm yours.”
“Quality time,” Y/N answers. “I just like being around my person.”
The girls all smile at one another, feeling like friends already, when a familiar voice causes them all to erupt in excited screams. Maja Jama walks into the villa with her signature smile and effortless glamour. “Hello, girls!” They all scream and cheer.
“Okay, ladies,” Maja laughs. “This year, your first coupling is going to be a little different.” The girls exchange confused looks.
“You won't be stepping forward for the boys. Instead, you'll be choosing based on signs. Each sign contains a boy's name, age and occupation. That's all you get.”
“What? That’s horrible!” Jade shrieks.
“Oh my god, imagine if he's ugly.” Mila groans dramatically.
“No pictures?” Seraphina asks.
“Nope,” Maja laughs. “Trust me, girls. This is Love Island. You never know what you're going to get.” Then the signs are revealed on the lawn.
Paxton, 28, Football Player
Ezra, 24, Travel Photographer
Harry, 25, Teacher
Kian, 26, Architect
Timo, 29, Ice Hockey Player
Tyler, 23, Personal Trainer
The girls walk around nervously. Mila studies them for only a second while biting her lip before stepping forward. “Football player? Yeah, that's me.”
Jade practically squeals when she sees Harry’s sign. “Oh, I love a teacher,” she giggles.
“A travel photographer? Oh my God, think of all the beautiful trips and pictures he could take. That’s husband material, right there,” Ivy says as she almost sprints towards Ezra’s sign.
“Architect sounds sexy,” Seraphina says and she steps behind Kian’s sign.
Eleanor studies the remaining signs before stepping toward Timo, smiling shyly. Leaving only Tyler's sign and Y/N standing alone.
Maja raises an eyebrow. “Y/N, why haven't you stepped forward?”
“I don't know…this is so hard. I usually go for someone's vibe and aura. I can't tell anything from just a sign.” Y/N laughs nervously, rubbing her arm.
Maja smiles. “Nothing catching your eye?”
Y/N glances toward Timo's sign before she says, “I mean, no offense, but athletes aren't really my thing.” Which made the other girls gasp and laugh.
“Why?” Maja asks.
“I don't know,” Y/N shrugs. “Athletes are a bit intense for me. They're so serious and disciplined and always training. Like… gym at five in the morning and protein powder in every cupboard. I don't think they're really my type.”
Everyone laughs.
Meanwhile, in another villa room, the boys are watching the whole thing unfold on a giant screen.
“Protein powder in every cupboard is crazy.” Paxton laughs loudly.
“Ouch, mate,” Harry winces, “that was rough.”
Ezra nearly spits out his drink. Timo, however, doesn't laugh. His eyes remain fixed on Y/N. Ever since she'd walked into the villa, he'd been unable to stop looking at her. Her smile, her eyes, the way she laughs with the girls, even the way she tucks her hair behind her ear. Y/N was exactly his type and hearing her say she didn't like athletes stings more than he’d expected or would care to admit.
“She didn't even give us a chance,” he mutters quietly.
Ezra notices. “Mate, you alright?”
Timo shakes his head and forces a smile. “Yeah. Just thought she was beautiful, that's all.”
Back outside, Maja gestures toward the last sign. “Well, Y/N, that leaves Tyler.”
“I've got no choice, then.” Y/N laughs as she steps behind Tyler's sign.
“And just like that, our couples are formed!” Maja announces. “Jade, are you ready to meet Harry?” Even before she could answer, they could see a boy entering the villa. The girls cheer and clap as he makes his way to the swimming pool. He takes a stand next to Mila, glancing at all the girls.
“Are you happy that Jade picked you?” Maja asks him.
“Yeah, I mean she looks gorgeous. I saw her on the screen and I hoped she would pick me!” Harry says, not caring about playing it cool.
“Well go stand with your girl. And that’s our first Love Island couple!” Maja exclaims and the girls all clap as Harry kisses her cheek.
Soon the other boys arrive as well, leaving only Eleanor alone. Tyler has his arm around Y/N, and his hand is placed on her hip. It makes her a little nervous, Tyler has been respectful, but this physical contact makes her a little nervous. However, she doesn’t have time to ponder about it because the last boy arrives. Her eyes land on him and her breath catches. He’s tall, broad shoulder and a warm smile as he greets everyone.
Oh no. He's gorgeous, like really gorgeous. And suddenly she feels like the biggest idiot alive.
Confessional - Y/N
She buries her face in her hands. “Yeah, I messed up. I messed up bad. Why is he so fit? Why does he have to be so fit?”
“So that is it. We have six beautiful couples,” Maja says and everyone cheers again. “But girls have you made the right choices? You will all spend this summer dating, living together and even sharing a bed. Don’t forget that in a few weeks’ time the public will vote for their winning couple. Will picking your type on paper count? Only time will tell. Good luck!” She says before walking off. Leaving the six couples alone for the first time.
It doesn’t take long before the girls are back over at the firepit and the boys have found themselves a place on the lounge.
“What do we think of the boys?” Seraphina asks as she glances over to where the boys are sitting.
“So, boys, we finally met them,” Ezra says, “I am not mad at the first coupling at all.”
And everyone agrees, expect Timo, he says quiet as he looks over at the fire pit at Y/N.
“I mean, these couples are not locked in, right? We can chat to everyone and get to know everyone,” Tyler says and shrugs.
Harry laughs, “Man, are you already not happy with Y/N.” Timo quickly turns his head around at her name.
After they have regrouped, everyone separates to get to know their couples. Ivy and Ezra are on the terrace already, everyone is going to bombard them with questions when they get back. Eleanor and Timo chat near the daybeds, though Timo finds himself distracted.
Across the villa, Y/N sits beside Tyler, but she keeps glancing over. And every time she looks up, she catches Timo already looking but he quickly looks away. She does try to get to know Tyler but the both of them can already tell that this is not going to work. Their love languages don’t match, and their conversation is boring them both.
On the daybeds Eleanor is asking Timo something for the third time.
“Sorry?” he asks sheepishly.
“Distracted?” Eleanor laughs. She knows that Timo is not the one for her, but she tries to play nice and get to know him anyway.
“A little,” he confesses. “I know that we are in a couple and I want to give you a fair chance, like I do, but I feel like there is something pulling me towards Y/N.”
“Yeah, I can see that. I think she feels the same way.”
“But she thinks that athletes are ‘too intense’.” He even makes the quotation marks with his fingers. Y/N can even see them from where she is sitting, and it makes her feel so bad, because she knows they are talking about what she said. After twenty minutes, Y/N gathers her courage.
“Can I steal Timo?” she asks softly.
Eleanor smiles. “Of course.”
“Yeah.” Timo stands immediately. “Where do you want to go?”
“Terrace? More privacy there,” Y/N says confidently but she feels her stomach flutter. They walk toward the terrace in awkward silence. Once they're alone, Y/N turns to him.
“I owe you an apology,” she starts.
Timo raises his eyebrows. “For what?”
“For the athlete thing. That was awful.” She laughs nervously.
He chuckles softly. “It was pretty brutal.”
“I'm sorry,” she says sincerely and she reaches towards his hands and grabs them. “I just have this idea in my head, and I shouldn't have judged before meeting anyone.”
Timo studies her face. “So, you don't hate athletes?”
She laughs. “No. Not anymore.”
“Good,” he simply says as he gives her hands squeeze.
“And for the record…I regret not stepping forward.” She bites her lip.
Timo's eyebrows shoot up. “You do?”
“Yeah.”
He looks down, smiling to himself. “Well…for the record, I was disappointed.”
“Really?”
“You were my favourite.”
“Seriously?” Y/N stares at him.
He nods. “You walked in and I thought…yeah, she's my type.”
Her cheeks turn pink. “Well shit, know I feel really bad.” She lets go off his hands and puts her face in hers.
“Don’t be, alright. You apologised, there is still so much time. This is only the first day, okay?” he reassures her as he pulls her hands away from her face. “There she is. You have a very beautiful face.”
That evening, everyone is dressed up for their first evening. Champagne flows, laughter fills the air and eventually Paxton’s phone starts to ding, and he stands up before reading the text.
Islanders, it’s time to turn up the heat… #TruthOrDare is back, and tonight there’s nowhere to hide. Gather around the fire pit because each of you will have to choose between spilling the tea or taking on a daring challenge.
#TruthOrDare #NoFilter #ExpectTheUnexpected
Everyone cheers as they make their way towards the firepit. The game begins with ridiculous confessions and embarrassing dares until eventually Tyler picks dare.
He unfolds the card and bursts out laughing. “Oh, this is evil.”
“What?” Jade asks.
“'Kiss the girl you'd couple up with if the boys had the choice.'”
Everyone screams.
“OHHHH!”
“Mate, this one's yours.” Tyler hands the card to Timo. Timo takes it and reads it again. His eyes immediately find Y/N. Tyler and Eleanor immediately notice before everyone else does. Eleanor just has a wide grin on her face while Tyler looks pissed off.
“Timo!” Harry yells as Timo slowly stand up. His heart is pounding is his chest. Y/N’s cheek are turning a shade of pink.
He walks over to her.
“Can I?” he asks softly.
She smiles. “Yes.”
He gently cups her face, and then he kisses her. The villa goes crazy, Mila is screaming, Paxton nearly falls off his seat.
“NO WAY!” Ezra shouts.
The kiss is soft, sweet and entirely too short for either of them. When they pull apart, Y/N is smiling so hard her cheeks hurt. Timo can't stop smiling either.
Eleanor laughs in disbelief. “Well, I think I just got pied.”
Everyone bursts out laughing.
Confessional – Timo
He shakes his head, smiling like an idiot. “I know it's day one. I know. But when she walked in, I thought she was beautiful. Then she said she hated athletes and I thought I had no chance.”
He laughs softly. “And then she pulled me for a chat.”
His smile widens. “And now I can't stop thinking about her.”
Confessional - Y/N
She hides her face behind her hands. “I've known this man for six hours.”
She starts laughing. “And I already fancy him.” Her smile grows bigger. “And don't tell him this…but I think he has really nice eyes.”
She pauses. “And maybe athletes aren't that intense after all.”
After the game is over, everyone starts getting ready for bed. Y/N and Timo keep sneaking a glance when they are brushing their teeth. When Y/N makes her way to the changing room, all the girls want to know how it was.
“Tell me! How was it kissing an intense athlete?” Mila asks wiggling her brows.
“Oh my God, you guys are never going to let this thing go are you?” Y/N whines as she wipes her make-up off. “But to tell you the truth, it was really good. He was so sweet about it.”
“Tyler looked pissed though,” Seraphina commented which made the pit in Y/N stomach grow. She never intended to couple up with him and make his Love Island experience shit. Jade notices the change on Y/N’s face.
“Honestly, hun. Don’t feel bad. This was the first day and it was only a game,” she says. “Tyler is a big boy. If he can’t handle this that actually says a lot about who he is as a person.” Y/N gives her a small smile.
“Still though, I don’t want to piss off anyone. But if he is not for me, he is not for me. We have nothing in common. Our conversation was so boring,” Y/N confesses. “I hope he does meet someone in here who matches with him.”
“You are so sweet, Y/N! I can see why Timo fancies you,” Eleanor says with a sad smile on her face.
“You will meet someone too, El! And I mean Timo and I aren’t together, we shared one kiss! I do fancy him, but you are sharing a bed with him.” She gets up and walks over to Eleanor before giving her a big hug.
Meanwhile in the bedroom, Tyler is making a scene.
“She is supposed to be in a couple with me and then she goes and kisses Timo! What the fuck man, I thought dudes were supposed to be buds in here!” he screams.
“Calm down, mate. It was just a game! She is in a couple with you, you are sharing a bed with her tonight. Honestly, it’s not a big deal,” Ezra says trying to calm him down, but it has the opposite effect.
“I am not sharing a bed with that! She can fuck right off.”
“Dude, honestly, calm yourself down. ‘That’ is not how you call someone. She is not a thing she is a person,” Harry argues, making his way over to Tyler. Harry feels strangely protective over Y/N like she is his sister.
“If you don’t feel like sharing a bed with her, you need to leave,” Paxton says as he stands up as well. “Don’t ruin this for yourself, bro.”
“I am not leaving this bed, she can honestly find another place to sleep.” Tyler walks over to the bed and lays down, putting his eye mask on. The other boys all look over at Timo before they make their way to the girls’ dressing room.
“Ladies, we have some bad news,” Kian announces. “Tyler is ready to fight.”
“Well, he was ready to fight. He went to bed now, but he said that in no way is he sleeping next to Y/N,” Harry further explains. “I don’t think it’s a good idea if you go in there, Y/N.” This makes all the girls look over at Y/N with concern written on their faces.
“You can sleep in the hideaway with Timo,” Eleanor says. “That’s a safe option, right? I mean it’s only fair.”
“You deserve your first night to be good,” Mila adds. “This way you don’t have to sleep outside and get eaten by all the insects.” She looks over at Timo, who has been quiet throughout all this.
“I mean only if you want to, Y/N,” he finally says.
“Yeah, okay. If that is alright with you Eleanor.” She looks over at the girl who stands up immediately and wraps her arms around her.
“It was my idea, babe.” She smiles. “Go, please. We can fight Tyler tomorrow.”
Y/N grabs her water bottle before walking over to Timo. “Let’s go then.” The girls all shout some encouraging words and the boys clap for them. They make their way towards the Hideaway.
“Oh, this is lovely!” Y/N says as soon as she opens the door.
“Well, at least you will get a good night sleep, right?” Timo says with a small smile on his face. “Tyler really said some awful things, and you deserve so much more than him.”
“Come on then, big boy. Let’s go to sleep,” she says as she pats the spot next to her. Timo crawls underneath the covers and pulls Y/N closer to him.
“At least we can cuddle now. That’s a good thing,” he whispers into her hair before they finally fall asleep together.
I am not done with writing the episodes, but I decided to show the characters who will be our new islanders! @qrrieterisunnq helped me with their vibes and occupations.
Disclaimer: I don't own these people, I don't know who these people are, but I found their pictures on Pinterest.
Girls:
Y/N (I haven't included her age or occupation, just the vibe)
A/N: I know I have been gone. Honestly, I haven't felt like writing, and I've been feeling burnt out thinking about it. To ease myself back into it, I tried writing this piece, which is based on the picture I saw of Timo at Jesper and Nicole's wedding. I hope you like it! I don't know when I will write next or what I will write next. Sorry again!
Pairing: Timo Meier x reader
Words: 1,4k (she's a shorty)
Warning(s): one mention of Y/N
The hotel suite is quiet except for the soft hum of the air conditioning and the muffled sounds of traffic somewhere far below. Sunlight spills through the floor-to-ceiling windows, painting warm golden streaks across the carpet, while the invitation to Jesper and Nicole's wedding sits neatly on the marble coffee table.
Timo has been ready for almost twenty minutes. His linen suit is already on, his tie is perfectly straight, and his shoes are polished to the point they practically reflect the room around him. He's leaning against the doorway to the bedroom with his hands in his pockets, patiently waiting, or at least pretending to.
“You alive in there?” he calls.
A laugh floats back from the bedroom. “I'm deciding if this dress hates me.”
“I'll remind it who's dating who,” he says, earning him another laugh. Then the bedroom door opens and Timo forgets how breathing works. For a solid five seconds he simply stares.
The dress is deep chocolate brown satin, draped elegantly over one shoulder before skimming every curve effortlessly. It catches the afternoon light with every tiny movement, the fabric looking almost liquid as it falls all the way to the floor. The subtle gathering around the waist makes it look like it has been made specifically for you. Your chocolate-coloured heels finish your look. Everything about you somehow looks understated and breathtaking at the same time.
“...Wow,” Timo breathes out.
You smile shyly. “Is it too much?”
He blinks once before shaking his head. “No.” Another pause. “No, sweetheart, this is actually a problem.”
You raise an eyebrow at that statement. “A problem?”
He slowly walks toward you, his eyes never leaving your face. “I thought we were going to Jesper's wedding.”
“We are.”
“So why,” he asks dramatically, “are you trying to make the bride file a formal complaint?”
“Timo.” You laugh, covering your mouth.
“I'm serious.” He circles you slowly, inspecting the dress like he's evaluating a masterpiece in a museum. “This is dangerous.”
“It's just a dress,” you say as you walk towards your clutch to put the essentials in.
“It's not just a dress.” He gestures dramatically. “Nicole walks down the aisle looking beautiful.”
You nod, waiting for him to continue. “Everyone stands.”
Another nod. “And then you stand up to throw confetti later and suddenly everyone forgets who just got married.”
You roll your eyes, laughing. “They're not.”
“They absolutely are,” he argues.
“They absolutely aren't.”
“They'll be sitting there whispering, 'Sorry, Jesper... your wife is stunning but have you seen Timo's girlfriend?'“
You lightly smack his arm. “You're impossible.”
“I'm honest,” he says and shrugs his shoulders before he reaches for your hand, pulling you closer until only a few inches separate the two of you.
“You look...” His smile softens. “Ridiculously beautiful.”
“You always say that.” Your expression melts.
“Because somehow you keep proving me right.” He squeezes your hips.
“Thank you,” you say and lean up to kiss his cheek.
His gaze drifts over your shoulder. “...Although.”
“What?” You question as you look into his eyes.
“I have one concern.”
You narrow your eyes. “What concern?”
“You aren't actually finished.” He points toward the back of the dress where the zipper hangs halfway.
You freeze. “Oh.” You had completely forgotten the zipper because of the way Timo looked at you when you entered the room. “I can't reach it.”
“I noticed.”
“Could you zip me up?” You turn around, gathering your hair over one shoulder.
“With pleasure.” His fingertips brush the exposed skin of your back as he catches the tiny zipper between his fingers. He starts pulling it upward slowly. Very slowly.
“Timo.”
“Hm?” Is all he manages to get out.
“Why did you stop?”
“I'm thinking,” he says as he catches your gaze in the mirror.
“About?”
“If we actually have to leave.”
That makes you laugh. “We do.”
“But...” The zipper moves another inch. “...counterpoint.” He rests his chin lightly against your shoulder. “We don't.”
“Timo,” you warn him.
“I'm just saying...” His hands settle carefully on your waist once the zipper reaches the top. “...if we never leave this hotel room, nobody can accuse you of stealing the bride's spotlight.”
You laugh again. “What about Jesper and Nicole?”
“I'll text him.”
“What exactly would that text say?” you say as you turn around to face him.
He clears his throat dramatically. “'Sorry, buddy. Unfortunately, Y/N put on that dress.'” You burst out into laughter. “'We're unable to attend due to... satin-related circumstances.'”
“Timo!” You give him a little shove, but he barely moves.
“'Please enjoy the open bar without us,'” he adds.
You can barely breathe from laughing now. “You are unbelievable.”
“I haven't even gotten to my best excuse,” Timo says with a serious look on his face.
“Oh?”
He gently pulls you against him. “'Dear Jesper, I started zipping up her dress...'” You already know where this is going. “...'and unfortunately, we never recovered.'”
You hide your face against his chest, laughing so hard that your shoulders are shaking. “You cannot send him that.”
“I wasn't planning on sending it,” he starts.
“No?” you ask him with your brows furrowed.
“I was planning on telling him in person tomorrow,” he continues and shrugs his shoulders again. Making you swat his shoulder again.
“We are absolutely going,” you tell him with your index finger pointed at him.
He sighs theatrically. “A tragedy.”
“You'll survive.”
“Barely.” He is being so dramatic right now.
You reach up to straighten his tie that had somehow become slightly crooked. “There.”
He catches your wrist before you can pull away. “You know what the worst part is?”
“What?”
“I have to spend the entire ceremony pretending I'm listening to the vows.”
“And?” You smile.
“I'm actually going to be sitting there wondering how I got lucky enough to be the guy standing next to you.” The teasing disappears from his voice completely. His eyes search yours with that familiar softness that still manages to catch you off guard every single time. “You really are beautiful.”
Your heart swells. “So are you.”
“I appreciate the effort, but one of us looks like they belong on the cover of a magazine.” He laughs.
“And the other?”
“The other looks like the luckiest man in Sweden.” You kiss him then, slow and sweet, careful not to ruin either of your carefully prepared appearances. When you finally separate, he presses his forehead against yours. “I have one request.”
“What?” you ask him with the biggest smile on your face.
“When the photographer inevitably asks for couples' pictures...”
“Mhm?”
“...stand next to me.”
“I was planning on it,” you say dryly, because why would you not stand next to him.
“So, people know you're with me,” he says as if he were reading your mind.
“You think people will wonder?” You laugh as you lay your hand against his chest.
“Oh, absolutely.”
“Why?”
He grins. “They're going to assume I bribed you.”
You shake your head affectionately before you slip your hand into his. “Come on.”
He looks toward the hotel door, then back at you. “...Last chance to skip the wedding.”
“No,” you answer before pulling him towards the door, but he barely budges.
“You sure?” he asks you again.
“Very.”
He sighs one last exaggerated sigh. “Fine.” Then, with a mischievous smile, he opens the door for you. “But if Jesper asks why I'm smiling through the entire ceremony...” You raise an eyebrow. “...I'm blaming the dress.”
“And,” he continues, wrapping an arm around your waist and leading you toward the hotel lobby, “next time you decide to wear a dress like this...” He looks back at you with a crooked grin. “...warn me first.”
“Why?”
“So, I can schedule at least an extra hour before we have to leave.”
You laugh as you intertwine your fingers with his. “For what?”
He brings your hand to his lips, pressing a lingering kiss to your knuckles before opening the door of the hotel. “So, we actually have a chance of making it out of the hotel room.”
A/N: I am so sorry for how long it took me to write this. I was stuck on how many lyrics I wanted to include. I wanted to do more, but it just didn't work for me. Also, work has been crazy busy. I worked so many nights, which is... unusual for a teacher. We had a graduation and a lot of excursions. Also, it has been half a year since my father passed away, and it was just a lot. This isn't my best work, and I might come back to this and edit it.

Timo had learned a long time ago that dating you meant never knowing when a song lyric would make an appearance. It happened in grocery stores, in the middle of lazy Sunday mornings, during road trips, and somehow even when he was trying to have a serious conversation. You had an uncanny ability to pull out the perfect line for every situation, usually followed by the smug little smile that told him you'd been waiting for the opportunity all day.
That evening, after he'd finally made it home from a long road trip, he barely had time to set his duffel bag down before you wrapped your arms around his waist. You looked him up and down dramatically before grinning.
“Hey, babe,” you said. “How was the trip?”
Timo leaned down to press a kiss to your forehead before dropping his bag. “Long,” he groaned. “But it's always worth it to come home to you.”
You laughed, a light, melodic sound that never failed to make Timo smile. “Flatterer,” you teased, but your eyes sparkled with warmth. You reached out, your fingers trailing along his jaw, rough with a day's worth of stubble. “I missed you,” you admitted softly.
Timo covered your hand with his, turning his head to press a kiss to your palm. “I missed you too, sweetheart,” he murmured. He could feel the tension of the past few days beginning to ebb away, replaced by a familiar, comforting warmth. Home, he thought, was wyoure you were.
You pulled your hand away, a playful glint in your eye. “You know,” you said, your voice taking on a sing-song quality, “I was thinking while you were gone. We’ve got all this time to make up for, and I’ve got just the thing to help us catch up.”
Timo raised an eyebrow, a smirk tugging at the corner of his mouth. “Oh yeah?” he asked, his voice low. “And what might that be?”
You grinned as you stepped away from him, your eyes never leaving his. “Well,” you began, your voice dropping to a whisper, “I was thinking we could try out my new toy.”
Timo's smirk grew wider, his eyes gleaming with interest. “Toy, huh?” he asked, his voice a low rumble. “What kind of toy?”
You laughed, a sound that was part excitement and part nervousness. “Well, you wanna try out my new fuzzy pink handcuffs?” you said, your voice barely above a whisper.
Timo chuckled, leaning in closer to you. “Fuzzy pink handcuffs, huh?” he said before letting out a chuckle. “You know, for a second there I thought you were serious.”
“I am sorry, baby. I’ve been wanting to say that for so long!” you exclaimed. “But I did win a pair in an arcade once. We’d have to look around, but they must be somewhere."
“It’s fine, Schatzi. I am more of a traditionalist anyways.”
Your breath hitched, you were so scared that the stupid joke ruined the mood, but Timo seemed unbothered by it. “Really?” you asked.
Timo nodded, his gaze never leaving yours. “Really,” he confirmed, his voice a low promise.
You bit your lip, your eyes were sparkling with excitement. “Okay then,” you said, your voice steady despite the rapid beat of your heart. “Come with me.”
Timo took your hand, allowing you to lead him down the hallway to your bedroom. As you stepped inside, he could feel the tension in the air, the anticipation of what was to come. He turned to face you, his eyes meeting yours, and the world outside their room faded away.
You stepped closer to him, your hands reaching up to trace the line of his jaw, his neck, and his shoulders. “I want you, Timo,” you whispered, your voice barely audible. “All of you.”
Timo's breath caught in his throat, his body responding to your words, to your touch. He reached up, his hands covering yours, and guided them down to the hem of his shirt. Together, you pulled it off, tossing it aside without a care. Your hands continued their exploration, your fingers now tracing the lines of his muscles.
Timo stood still, allowing you to explore, to touch, to claim. He could feel his body responding to you, his heart pounding in his chest, his breath coming in rapid bursts. He wanted you more than he had ever wanted anything in his life.
Your hands reached the waistband of his jeans, your fingers tracing the line of his hipbone, your touch was light and teasing. Timo’s breath hitched, his body tensing in anticipation. He reached out, his hands finding yours as he pulled you closer to him.
“Wanna try out some freaky positions?” you whispered.
Timo's heart skipped a beat, his body responding to your words and to your touch. He reached down, his hands finding the hem of your shirt, and pulled it off in one swift motion. You gasped, your eyes widening in surprise, but you didn't pull away. Instead, you stepped closer to him, your body pressing against his.
Timo's hands found the clasp of your bra, unhooking it with ease. He slipped it off your shoulders, tossing it aside without a care. Your hands found the waistband of his jeans, your fingers tracing the line of his hipbone, your touch light, teasing. Timo's breath hitched, his body tensing in anticipation. He nodded, his voice lost to him. You smiled, a slow, sultry smile that promised pleasure beyond his wildest dreams.
Timo reached out, unbuttoning your jeans and slowly sliding them down. You shivered at his touch, your body responding to him, your skin prickling with goosebumps. He looked up at you, his eyes meeting yours, and you could see the desire burning in their depths.
“Timo,” you whispered, your voice barely audible. “Please.”
He smiled, a smile that sent a shiver down your spine. “Patience, sweetheart,” he murmured, his voice a low growl. “We've got all night.”
You bit your lip, your body aching with anticipation. You could feel the heat building between your legs, your body responding to his touch, to his words. Timo's hands continued their exploration, his fingers tracing the line of your thigh, your hip, and your waist. He reached the hem of your panties, his fingers tracing the edge, teasing you. You gasped, your body tensing in anticipation.
“Please,” you begged, your voice a low whimper. “I need you.”
Timo's eyes darkened, his body responding to your words. He reached down, his hands finding the edge of your panties, and pulled them off in one swift motion. You gasped, your body tensing in anticipation.
“Lie down,” Timo commanded, his voice a low growl. You obeyed, your body melting onto the bed, your eyes never leaving his. He stood above you, his eyes roaming over your body, a slow smile spreading across his face.
“You're beautiful,” he murmured, his voice a low rumble. “Absolutely beautiful.”
You blushed at his words, your body responding to his touch, to his words. You reached out, your hands finding his hips, pulling him closer to you.
“Your turn,” you whispered, your voice a low purr. “I want to see you.”
Timo's breath hitched, his body responding to your words. He reached down, his hands finding the waistband of his jeans, and pulled them off, along with his boxers. Your eyes widened, your body responding to the sight of him, your heart pounding in your chest.
“Come here,” you whispered, your voice a low plea. Timo obeyed, his body melting onto the bed beside you. You reached out, your hands finding his chest, his abdomen, and his hips. You could feel the heat building inside you, your body aching for release. Timo reached down, his hands finding your thighs, pushing them apart. You gasped, your body tensing in anticipation. He looked up at you, his eyes meeting yours, and you could see the desire burning in their depths.
“Are you ready, sweetheart?” he asked, his voice a low growl.
You nodded, your body aching for him. “Yes,” you whispered, your voice barely audible. “I'm ready.”
Timo smiled as be reached down, his fingers finding your centre, teasing you. You gasped, your body tensing in anticipation.
“Timo,” you groaned, your voice a low plea. “Please.”
He looked up at you, his eyes meeting yours, and you could see the desire burning in their depths. “Say it,” he commanded, his voice a low growl. “Say what you want.”
You bit your lip, your body aching for release. “I want you, Timo,” you whispered, your voice barely audible. “All of you.”
Timo's breath hitched, his body responding to your words. He reached down, his hands finding your hips, and positioned himself at your entrance. You gasped, your body tensing in anticipation.
“Whole package, babe,” you whispered, your voice a low purr. “I like the way you fit.”
Timo's heart skipped a beat, his body responding to your words. He pushed inside you, slowly, gently, allowing your body to adjust to his. You gasped, your body tensing around him, your eyes meeting his.
“Timo,” you groaned, your voice a low plea. “More.”
He obliged, his body moving in a slow, steady rhythm, building the heat between them. Your body responded to his, your hips moving in time with his, your breath coming in rapid bursts.
“Faster,” you begged, your voice a low whimper. Timo obliged, his body moving faster, harder, pushing you closer to the edge. Your body tensed, your breath coming in short gasps, your heart pounding in your chest.
“Timo,” you groaned, your voice a low plea. “I'm close.”
He looked down at your, his eyes meeting yours, and you could see the desire burning in their depths. “Come for me,” he commanded, his voice a low growl. “Come for me now.”
And you did. Your body tensed, your breath catching in your throat, your eyes squeezing shut as wave after wave of pleasure washed over you. Timo's body continued to move, pushing you higher, drawing out your release.
When the last wave finally subsided, Your body went limp, your eyes fluttering open to find Timo looking down at you, a soft smile on his face. He leaned down, pressing a soft kiss to your lips, your cheek, and your neck.
“Thank you,” he murmured, his voice a low rumble. “Thank you for letting me love you like that.”
You smiled, your heart swelling with love. “Thank you for loving me,” you whispered, your voice barely audible.
They lay for a while, their bodies entwined, their hearts beating in sync. The room was filled with the soft glow of the setting sun, casting long, dancing shadows across the floor. And in that moment, they were truly, completely happy.
A/N: This is just a fic I wrote very quickly. I am still stuck on the request, so I decided to just put that to the side for a second. I am also starting another Love Island fic starring Timo Meier. I want to finish that before posting, and I am only on episode 4...
Pairing: Nico Hischier x reader
Words: 1,8k
Warning(s): fake dating
The first time you meet Nico Hischier, it isn't romantic. It is actually quite embarrassing. You're halfway through balancing two champagne flutes, your clutch, and your phone at a charity fundraiser in Manhattan when someone steps back without looking. Your shoulder collides with his, the champagne sloshes over the rim, and before you can save it, golden liquid splashes straight across the front of his navy suit.
“Oh my God.” The words leave your mouth before you even register who you're looking at. Tall. Dark hair. Brown eyes that widen for exactly half a second before he glances down at the stain spreading across his jacket.
“I'm so sorry,” you blurt, already digging through your purse for napkins. “I swear I usually don't assault strangers with champagne.”
Instead of looking annoyed, he laughs. “It's okay.”
“No, it's not. That's an expensive suit.”
“I've got others.”
You finally look up properly, and recognition hits you all at once. Nico Hischier, the captain of the New Jersey Devils. One of the nicest professional athletes if every interview you've ever watched is anything to go by.
“I...” You stop, mortified. “This is somehow worse now.”
He raises an eyebrow. “You know who I am?”
“I do now.”
That makes him grin. “Then we're even.”
Three months later, you're sitting across from him in a quiet coffee shop in Hoboken. Neither of you expected to see each other again after the fundraiser. Then your mutual friend Amanda invited both of you to game night. Then brunch. Then a Fourth of July barbecue. Somehow, you kept ending up in the same room. Somehow, talking to him became easy. Dangerously easy.
“So...” Nico says, stirring his coffee. “I need a favour.”
You narrow your eyes. “That sounds suspicious.”
“It kind of is.”
He scratches the back of his neck, a habit you've noticed whenever he's slightly uncomfortable. “My mom keeps asking if I'm dating anyone.”
You laugh. “And?”
“And the media's been making up stories.”
“I've seen.” Apparently, Nico had dated three actresses, a model, and someone's cousin according to the internet. None of it had been true.
“I thought...” He hesitates. “Maybe we could pretend.”
You blink. “...Pretend?”
“Fake date.”
You stare.
He quickly continues. “Just for a little while. A few public appearances. Family dinner in Switzerland when they visit. Charity gala next month. Then everyone stops asking.”
“You're asking me to be your fake girlfriend?” You can't help smiling.
“I know it sounds ridiculous.”
“It really does.”
“I'll owe you.”
“What exactly does one NHL captain pay for fake-dating services?”
His smile grows. “Unlimited coffee?”
“You think I can be bought with caffeine?”
“...Maybe?”
You pretend to think about it. “Make it coffee and pastries.”
“Done.”
“And you have to let me make fun of you,” you add.
“You already do.”
“Good point.”
“So?” He reaches across the table. You look at his outstretched hand and then shake it.
“Deal.”
The first public appearance is a charity gala. Nico meets you outside your apartment. When you open the door, he's wearing a black tuxedo and holding a bouquet of white tulips.
You blink. “I thought this was fake.”
“It is.”
“Then why flowers?”
“Fake boyfriends should still bring flowers.” He shrugs.
You stare at him. “You're setting unrealistic expectations.”
“Sorry.” He laughs.
“No, you're not.”
“...No.”
The gala goes perfectly. A little too perfectly. Photographers ask them to stand closer. Nico's hand settles gently against your lower back. It should feel awkward. Instead, it feels comfortable, like it's always belonged there. When someone asks them to look at each other instead of the camera, both of them burst into genuine laughter at the exact same time. The picture is everywhere the next morning.
“Nico Hischier Looks Happier Than Ever With Mystery Girlfriend.”
Amanda sends you the article with approximately seventeen heart emojis.
You respond with: “It's fake.”
She replies: “Sure.”
Weeks pass. Fake dates become real dinners, real conversations, movie nights, grocery shopping, and walking through Hoboken with takeout because neither of you feels like cooking. Sometimes you forget you're pretending. Then he'll casually lace his fingers through yours in public, and you'll remember. Only you're beginning to wish you didn't have to.
One Saturday morning, Nico appears at your apartment wearing sweatpants and a baseball cap. “Emergency.”
You open the door wider. “What happened?”
“I bought furniture,” he breathes out.
“...Okay?” You cock your brows in confusion.
“I forgot I have to build it,” he states the obvious, feeling like an idiot standing in front of your apartment.
“So?” You laugh.
“I need an adult,” he sighs, his hand scratching the back of his neck.
“You are thirty,” you chuckle.
“I know.”
“You're the captain of an NHL team,” you continue, a teasing smirk on your lips.
“I know.”
“And you can't assemble a bookshelf?” you taunt him, hand on your hip as you watch him pace around your place.
“...Maybe.”
Three hours later, you're sitting on his living room floor surrounded by screws. The bookshelf leans suspiciously to one side. You both stare at it.
“I think it's artistic,” you say.
“I think it's illegal.” The second you let go, it collapses. Silence, then Nico starts laughing. The kind of laugh that makes his shoulders shake. You join him until both of you are lying on the floor unable to breathe.
“I think...” he manages between laughs, “...we should call someone.”
“I think IKEA should apologize.”
That night, you stay for dinner. He insists on cooking.
“You can cook?”
“I'm Swiss,” he answers as if it was the most obvious thing in the world.
“That's not an answer.”
“It should be,” he shrugs, stirring in the pan.
Somehow, the pasta is incredible.
You point your fork at him. “You've been hiding this.”
“I wasn't hiding.”
“You absolutely were.”
“I just never had someone to cook for.” He smiles over the candlelight and your heart stutters.
His parents adore you. They know it's fake or at least Nico claims they know. His mother hugs you the second she sees you. His father spends dinner asking about your job. Later, while Nico helps clear the table, his mom quietly leans toward you.
“I haven't seen him smile this much in years.”
You smile politely. “I'm good company.”
“No.” She pats your hand and she smiles knowingly. “You're more than that.”
The fake relationship reaches six months. Neither of you mentions ending it. There isn't really a reason anymore. The media has accepted it. His family has stopped asking questions. Your friends have stopped pretending they believe it's fake. One evening, you're curled up together on his couch watching a movie. Halfway through, you realize you're leaning against him. His arm is around your shoulders. Neither of you remembers who moved first. The movie ends. Neither of you notices.
“I should probably go home,” you whisper.
“You could.” However, neither of you moves.
Winter arrives soon. After a home game, you wait outside the locker room. Nico walks out with damp hair and immediately smiles when he sees you. Without thinking, he wraps you in a hug. It's warm, comfortable, and it feels like home.
“You won.”
“We did.”
“I'm proud of you.”
He rests his chin on top of your head for just a second longer than necessary. “So am I.”
A week before Christmas, Amanda corners both of you at dinner. “So.” You and Nico exchange nervous glances. “When are you going to tell each other?”
“Tell each other what?” You frown.
She looks genuinely confused. “That you're in love.”
The room fall sitent.
“Oh my God.” Amanda sighs dramatically as she stands up. “I'm leaving.”
“You just got here.”
“I refuse to watch two emotionally constipated adults avoid the obvious.” She grabs her purse. “You've fake-dated for eight months.”
Neither of you says anything.
She points at Nico. “You look at her like she hung the moon.” Then she points at you. “And you practically glow every time he walks into a room.” Another pause. “I'll give you idiots privacy.”
She leaves and the apartment becomes impossibly quiet.
Finally, Nico speaks. “...Do I really look at you like that?”
“You do.” You meet his eyes.
He swallows. “Oh.”
“...Yeah.” There is another silence before he laughs softly.
“I think we might be terrible at fake dating.”
“I think we've been terrible at it for months.”
He rubs the back of his neck again. “I don't actually want this to end.”
“I don't either.” Your heart pounds.
“No.” He steps closer. “I mean... I don't want to pretend anymore.” Your breath catches. “I've been trying to figure out how to tell you that I've fallen in love with you without making everything awkward if you didn't feel the same.”
You smile before you even realize you're doing it. “You know what's funny?”
“What?”
“I've been practicing the exact same speech,” you confess.
“You have?” His eyes soften.
“I love you too,” you finally say and the relief that washes across his face is almost enough to make you cry.
He laughs, a quiet, disbelieving sound, and cups your face with both hands. “So...”
“So?”
“Can I kiss my real girlfriend now?”
“I was wondering how long it would take you to ask.” You grin.
His smile is impossibly bright as he leans in. The kiss is slow, gentle, and everything neither of you allowed yourselves to have while it was all supposed to be pretend. When you finally pull apart, he rests his forehead against yours.
“You know,” he murmurs, “I never actually needed a fake girlfriend.”
You blink. “...You didn't?”
“No.”
“So why ask me?”
He smiles sheepishly. “I couldn't think of another excuse to spend as much time with you as I wanted.”
“That's the worst plan I've ever heard.” You laugh so hard you have to bury your face in his shoulder.
“It worked, though,” he says. “It got me the girl.”
“Yeah.” You look up at him and you lace your fingers through his.
“I guess sometimes the best love stories start with a really bad idea.” He kisses your forehead.
“And with spilled champagne,” you add, “And a crooked IKEA bookshelf.”
“We're never fixing that.” He laughs.
“No,” you agree, smiling as he squeezes your hand. “We'll keep it exactly the way it is.”
You guys... I've been stuck on a request. And to be honest, I haven't written anything else because of it. Also, work has been crazy busy because apparently parents don't teach their children respect anymore. So I hope that I will be able to write something this week and get out of my writer's block.
A/N: This was requested by another Anon. I loved this one so much! It's a lil short because I wrote it very quickly.
Pairing: John Tucker x Jensen!reader
Words: 1,4k
Warning(s): none
The first rule of being Coach Jensen’s daughter was simple: don't distract the players. The second rule was even simpler: definitely don't sleep with one of them. You'd broken the second rule months ago.
Not because you were reckless, or because John Tucker had charmed you with smooth lines or impossible promises. If anything, it had started because neither of you had intended for it to become a habit. It was supposed to be one stupid night after a charity event, where you'd spent hours pretending not to notice each other while your father introduced you to boosters and alumni. Tucker had walked you to your car afterward, making sarcastic comments about how exhausting it was smiling for donors all evening, and somewhere between laughing in the parking lot and him brushing a strand of hair behind your ear, things had spiralled. Afterward, you'd both agreed it couldn't happen again. But then it happened again three days later.
Now, months later, you weren't exactly dating. You also definitely weren't just hooking up anymore. It had become something stranger and more dangerous. Tucker knew exactly how you took your coffee. You knew he couldn't sleep before away games and always ended up watching old hockey highlights until two in the morning. He'd text you dumb memes after practice. You'd bring him homemade cookies whenever you visited your dad's office. Neither of you ever acknowledged how couple-like those things were. Because acknowledging them meant asking what came next, and neither of you seemed brave enough for that.
The locker room had mostly emptied by the time you wandered through the athletic building carrying a cardboard tray of coffees. Your dad had been trapped in meetings all morning, meaning you'd volunteered to deliver caffeine to the coaching staff. It just so happened there was one extra cup.
Tucker was sitting alone outside the equipment room, stretching one leg out in front of him while scrolling through his phone. His practice shirt clung to his shoulders, his hair still damp from the shower, and somehow, he noticed you before you said a word. His entire face lit up, it was quick and instinctive. The kind of smile that belonged to someone who was genuinely happy to see another person. Then he remembered where he was, and the smile instantly shrank into something safer.
“Jensen,” he greeted casually.
You rolled your eyes. “Tucker.”
His gaze immediately found the extra coffee in your tray. “That for me?”
“I don't know.”
“You bought my order.”
“I accidentally remembered it.”
“Right.” You handed it over anyway. His fingers brushed yours for barely a second, too long but also not long enough.
“You remembered the caramel,” he said quietly.
“I have a weird memory.”
“You remembered the extra espresso too.” You shrugged as he smiled into his coffee. “You keep pretending this is casual.”
“It is casual,” you tried to argue.
“You know my coffee order.”
“You know my Netflix password,” you shot back.
Tucker was in trouble. Not hockey trouble, but relationship trouble. Except technically there wasn't a relationship. That was the problem. He'd never intended for this to become emotional.
At first, it had been easy. You’d text when you wanted to see each other. You'd sneak into his apartment after evening practices. You'd watch movies neither of you paid attention to, order takeout, and fall asleep tangled together for a few hours before you slipped home before sunrise. There were no expectations and no labels, and it was perfect… until it wasn’t. Somewhere along the way, he'd started grocery shopping with your favourite snacks already in his cart. He knew exactly which side of the couch you'd curl up on. He'd caught himself checking his phone after every practice, hoping you'd text first.
Last week you’d mentioned an interview you’d been nervous about, and he had remembered. He didn’t even need a reminder or a calendar, he just remembered. What kind of guy remembered interviews if this was supposed to stay casual? The kind who was absolutely screwed.
Friday nights usually meant parties, but Tucker decided to skip this one. Instead, he found himself sitting on the balcony of your apartment with plates spread across the small patio table because he had promised you that he would make dinner. The city buzzed below while the late spring air drifted around you.
“You know,” you said, stealing one of his fries, “you're missing a legendary hockey party.”
“I'm devastated,” he said sarcastically.
“You look devastated.”
“I'll recover.”
You smiled. “You only skipped because Coach made practice early.”
“No.” Tucker looked at you.
“No?”
“I skipped because I'd rather be here.” The words came out before he could stop them. Silence settled between you as you stared at him and he stared right back at you. “I didn't mean—”
“I know what you meant,” you said quietly, not breaking eye contact.
“You do?”
“Yeah, you'd rather be here.”
“I would.”
“You could've lied.” You shrugged your shoulders.
“I don't really want to.” Another silence followed that statement, but it felt different this time. He watched you tuck your knees against your chest.
“You know what's funny?” you asked softly.
“What?”
“I stopped going on dates,” you confessed as you looked away from him.
He frowned. “I hadn't noticed. When?”
“A while ago.”
“Why?”
“I guess... because every time someone asked me out, I compared them to you.” You laughed without humour.
His heartbeat stumbled. “And?”
“They always lost.”
Tucker looked down at the empty plate in his lap. “You shouldn't say things like that.”
“Why?”
“Because...” He sighed. “Because I've been doing the exact same thing.”
You blinked. “What?”
“I've tried.” He started.
“Tried what?”
“Moving on,” he continued as he lifted his head up to look at you again, but you wouldn’t meet his eyes.
“When?”
“There was a girl at a fundraiser last month.”
“The blonde?” you asked, because you remembered her. She was so pretty, and you were very jealous of her. Because she spent the night talking to Tucker, and deep down you wished it was you.
“You noticed?”
“I hated her.”
He laughed. “I never even got her number.”
“Why not?”
“Because she wasn't you.” His eyes met yours, and everything seemed to stop. The traffic noises below faded, the breeze seemed to disappear, and even breathing felt louder.
“You know,” you whispered, “this would've been easier if one of us had just admitted it months ago.”
“I was trying not to date my coach's daughter.”
“I was trying not to fall for one of my dad's players.”
“How's that working out?” he asked as a smile formed on his face.
“Terribly.”
“Same.” With that confession neither of you moved or spoke. Until finally, Tucker reached across the table, his hand hesitating just long enough to give you to chance to pull away. Instead, you slipped your fingers through his.
“So...” he murmured.
“So.”
“Are we still pretending this is casual?”
You smiled, your thumb brushing across his knuckles. “I don't think we were fooling anyone.”
“Probably not.” He laughed quietly.
“You know my dad's going to lose his mind.”
“Oh, absolutely.”
“You could still run,” you told him as you squeezed his hand.
“I could.”
“But?”
Tucker squeezed your hand back, looking at you with a softness that made your chest ache. “But I've spent months pretending the best part of my day was just convenient.” He smiled, small and completely genuine. “Turns out I'd rather deal with your dad than spend another day pretending you're just someone I hook up with.”
Your heart felt impossibly full. “So,” you teased, “are you asking me out?”
“I think I am.” He grinned.
“You think?”
“I've never dated my coach's daughter before. I'm improvising.”
You laughed so hard you nearly cried. “Well,” you said after the laughter faded, leaning over to press a gentle kiss to his lips, “for someone improvising...” You smiled against his mouth. “...you're doing a pretty good job.”
A/N: This was requested by @anyasthoughts. This fic is inspired by the song Voodoo Doll by 5 Seconds of Summer. I hope this is what you wanted!
Pairing: Dean di Laurentis x reader
Words: 2,3k
Warning(s): Happy end
Dean Di Laurentis had never believed in obsessions. He believed in attraction, in chemistry, in one-night stands that somehow turned into breakfast and lazy Sundays if the girl happened to be special enough. He believed in flirting because life was too short not to enjoy beautiful people. He believed in confidence because he had spent years perfecting it, hiding every insecurity beneath cocky grins and expensive watches. He did not believe in becoming completely, irrationally consumed by someone. Until you.
It started as a joke, or at least everyone else thought it was. Garrett caught Dean staring across the student centre one afternoon instead of listening to whatever hockey strategy they were discussing.
“Dude,” Garrett snapped his fingers. “Earth to Dean.”
Dean blinked. “What?”
“The hell are you looking at?”
Dean followed your figure as you disappeared around the corner with your backpack slung over one shoulder. “Nothing.”
Garrett turned just in time to see you vanish. “Oh.”
“What?” Dean asked as a frown formed on his face.
“You've got that look.”
Dean scoffed. “I don't have a look.”
“You absolutely have a look.”
“I do not.”
“The one where you've already imagined your future children.”
“You're insane.” Dean laughed so loudly people looked over.
Garrett only shrugged. “If you say so.”
He told himself it was coincidence that he kept running into you. At the library, the coffee shop, outside Hastings Hall, the quad or even the hockey arena after practice. Campus wasn't that big. Except it was, and somehow, he always found you.
“You've texted her…” Allie looked over Grace's shoulder as Grace counted. “...twenty-three times today.”
“That's not that many.” Dean frowned.
Hannah nearly choked on her drink. “It's one o'clock, Dean.”
“I had things to say.”
“You sent 'good morning'...” Grace read aloud. “'Hope your class goes well.' 'Did you eat breakfast?' 'You'd look cute in my sweatshirt today.' 'Miss you already.'“
“So?” he said as he rubbed the back of his neck.
Garrett burst into laughter. “You saw her forty-five minutes ago!”
Dean stared at him blankly. “Yeah.”
“...Dean,” Garrett warned him.
“What?”
“You have issues.”
“You know,” you laughed one evening as the two of you walked back from dinner, “you're kind of clingy.”
Dean stopped walking. “What?”
“You text me all day,” you said as you held out your thumb, counting.
“So?”
“You wait outside my classes.” You held out your index finger.
“I happen to be nearby.”
“You memorize my schedule.” You held out your middle finger.
“I have a good memory.”
“You asked what building my psychology lecture moved to after I mentioned it once three weeks ago,” you said as you held out your ring finger. Showing him the four digits. Dean opened his mouth and closed it again.
You smiled, completely oblivious to the war happening inside his head. “It's...sweet.”
You said sweet, not weird… sweet. He could live with sweet.
But then came Friday. He walked into Malone's expecting to find you waiting with your friends. Instead, you were dancing with someone else. Some guy from the business department. Dean had seen him before. He was tall, blond, and smiling way too much, according to Dean. He also had his hand on your waist, which made Dean's stomach dropped so violently it actually hurt. Logically, he knew there was nothing wrong with it. You weren't exclusive. You hadn't even gone on an official date. You could dance with whoever you wanted. Logically, but emotionally... it felt like someone had reached into his chest and twisted.
Garrett noticed first. “Oh no.”
“What?”
“You're doing the face.”
“What face?” Dean's jaw tightened.
“The homicidal one.”
“I don't have a homicidal face.”
“You absolutely do,” Garrett said as a smile formed on his face. Dean was being delusional.
You found him outside twenty minutes later. “Hey,” you started but Dean looked away. “You okay?”
“I'm fine,” he said unconvincingly.
“You left.”
“I needed air.”
“You seem upset,” you said as you stepped into his line of sight, but he still ignored your gaze.
“I'm not.”
You folded your arms. “Dean.”
“You looked happy,” he said as he finally looked at you.
“I was.”
“...With him.”
You blinked. “We were dancing.”
“I know.”
“That's...kind of what people do here.”
“I know,” he repeated, hurt clearly visible on his face.
“So why are you acting like I cheated on you?” The words hit him like cold water, because it had felt like you did. Which was insane, absolutely insane. You weren't his and you had never been his. Yet somehow, his heart had convinced itself otherwise.
“I don't know what's happening to me.” His voice came out quieter than either of you expected. “I've never...” He laughed once, humourlessly. “I've never been like this.”
You watched him carefully as he continued. “I think about you constantly.”
Silence.
“I check my phone every five minutes hoping you've texted.”
Another silence.
“I know your schedule.” His laugh sounded almost embarrassed now. “I know your coffee order.” He looked at the ground. “I know when you're tired because you rub your left eye instead of your right.”
Your breathing slowed.
“And every time someone else looks at you...” His jaw clenched. “...it feels like they're taking something that belongs to me.”
He immediately shook his head “Not belongs. God.” He dragged both hands through his hair. “See? That's crazy.”
“It is,” you agreed.
“I know.”
“I don't belong to anyone,” you told him.
“I know.”
“You can't build your world around me.”
“I know.” Every answer came instantly. He knew every single thing you were saying. He just couldn't seem to make his heart understand it.
“I don't want to lose myself.” His confession was almost whispered. “I like who I am.”
You stepped closer. “I like who you are too.”
His eyes met yours.
“But this...” you continued softly. “...this isn't love, Dean.”
He swallowed.
“It's fear,” you said quietly.
“You think so?” he said as put his hands up to his face.
“I think you're terrified that if you stop holding on, I'll disappear.”
Dean considered that. Maybe you were right. Maybe somewhere between your first smile and your hundredth conversation, he'd wrapped so much of his happiness around you that the thought of letting go had become unbearable. Like a doll controlled by invisible strings. Only he'd been the one holding the pins.
You reached for his hand. “I like you.” His heart leaped. “But I need you to breathe.”
A small smile. “Go hang out with your friends,” you ordered him.
“I do,” he argued.
“Without checking your phone.”
“...Harder.”
You laughed. “And trust that I'll still be here tomorrow.”
Dean squeezed your hand. He couldn't promise he'd stop worrying overnight. Couldn't promise he wouldn't still glance toward every doorway hoping you'd walk through it. Couldn't promise he wouldn't count the hours until he saw you again. But maybe obsession wasn't romantic. Maybe loving someone also meant giving them room to exist outside of you.
For the first time in weeks, Dean smiled without the tightness in his chest. “Okay.”
A week later, Dean realised something strange. The world hadn't ended. He'd stopped checking his phone every five minutes. Instead, he'd leave it in his backpack during class, sometimes forgetting about it entirely until lunch. He no longer detoured across campus just to catch a glimpse of you between lectures, and if you didn't answer his texts immediately, he simply assumed you were busy. It wasn't easy, at least, not at first. There were moments his fingers twitched toward his phone or he'd instinctively glance toward your usual study spot before reminding himself that he didn't need to know where you were every second of the day. Slowly, those moments became fewer and farther between. It wasn't because he cared less. If anything, he cared more. Because now, whenever he thought about you, it wasn't accompanied by panic. It was accompanied by warmth.
“You look different,” Garrett said before practice. Dean looked up from tying his skates. Garrett leaned against the locker beside him with his arms folded across his chest.
“Different how?”
“Less...” Garrett searched for the word. “...possessed.”
Dean laughed, genuinely laughed, instead of rolling his eyes. “I've been working on it.”
“No kidding.”
“I realised something.” Dean shrugged as Garrett raised an eyebrow. “I don't need to spend every second with her to know she's still going to text me back.”
“Damn.”
“I know.”
“And?”
Dean smiled to himself as he tightened the last lace. “I just...miss her normally now.”
You noticed it too. At first, you thought something was wrong. The first morning Dean didn't text you before your eight a.m. lecture, you frowned at your phone for an embarrassingly long time.
No Good morning, sunshine.
No Remember to eat breakfast.
No You've got this.
There was nothing. You shoved your phone into your bag with a sigh. Maybe he was busy, maybe hockey practice had run late, or maybe he'd decided you weren't worth the effort anymore. The thought settled in your stomach much heavier than it should have.
By lunchtime, you still hadn't heard from him. You found yourself looking around the student centre, not intentionally. You were just looking and observing.
Grace noticed. “Who are you searching for?”
“No one,” you said way too quickly.
“Mhm.”
“I just haven't heard from Dean today.” You picked at your fries.
Grace smiled into her drink. “Oh?”
“It's weird.”
“I thought you wanted him to back off.”
“I did,” you confessed.
“And now?” she asked.
You hesitated. “...Now it's weird.”
That evening, your phone buzzed.
Dean: Sorry! Practice ran long and Coach kept us afterward. How was your exam?
You stared at the screen. That was it, no twenty messages or frantic apologies, just one thoughtful text asking about your day.
Your heart did something unexpected. It fluttered as you answered immediately.
You: It actually went really well.
Three dots appeared, then disappeared, and then reappeared.
Dean: I knew you'd do great.
The realisation crept up on you over the next few weeks. Dean still opened doors for you, still saved you a seat in the library if you mentioned you were coming, still brought you coffee when he happened to be passing the café. But now he didn’t do those things because he was afraid you’d leave. He did them because they made you smile and that meant so much more.
“He's really trying.” Hannah said it one afternoon while the two of you watched Dean across the quad. He was sitting on the grass with Garrett, Logan, and Tucker, laughing so hard at something Tucker said that he nearly fell over. He hadn't noticed you yet. You watched him for longer than you intended.
“I know.”
“He used to spend every free second looking for you,” she continued.
“I know,” you repeated. “He has his own life again.”
Hannah glanced sideways at you. “You sound happy about that.”
“I am.”
“Even though it means less attention?”
Your answer came surprisingly quickly. “It doesn't feel like less.”
“No?”
“It feels...” You watched Dean throw his head back as he laughed again. “...Real.”
He spotted you a minute later. Your eyes met across the lawn. Instead of jumping to his feet and rushing over like he used to, he simply smiled. A warm, easy smile. Then he waved, as if to ask, Come over if you want. Not Please don't leave. Your feet carried you toward him before you'd consciously made the decision.
“Hey.”
Dean looked up as you reached the group. “Hey.”
His smile widened just a little. Garrett caught it immediately, and so did Logan, but neither of them said a word, they simply exchanged a knowing look.
Dean stood up. “We were just about to grab dinner.” He hesitated. “You don't have to come if you've got plans.”
The old Dean would've already assumed you were joining them. This Dean gave you a choice. You looked at him. He seemed lighter. The constant tension that had once lived behind his eyes was gone. He wasn't trying to hold onto you anymore. He was simply happy to see you.
“I'd like to come,” you answered truthfully. The smile that grew on his face wasn't explosive, it was quiet, like hearing exactly the answer he'd been hoping for without expecting it.
Somewhere between sharing fries at the diner, arguing over which movie to watch during group nights, and watching Dean interact with his friends, you realised you'd fallen into something dangerous. You missed him. Not because he was always around, but because sometimes he wasn't. You found yourself wanting to tell him about funny things that happened in class. You caught yourself buying an extra chocolate chip muffin because you knew they were his favourite. When something exciting happened, he became the first person you wanted to text, without even thinking about it. And it scared you.
“You've got the look.” Grace announced one evening.
You frowned. “What look?”
“The Dean look.”
“I don't know what that means.”
“The one he used to have.”
You stared as Grace laughed. “You've been smiling at your phone for five minutes.”
“I have not.” You immediately locked your screen.
“You absolutely have.”
The realisation finally hit during one of your study sessions. The library was unusually quiet, rain tapping gently against the windows. Dean sat across from you, completely absorbed in highlighting something in his economics textbook. Every so often, he'd glance up, catch your eye, smile, and then go right back to studying. You stopped pretending to read your own page.
He noticed almost immediately. “What?”
“You've changed.”
Dean leaned back. “I hope that's a good thing.”
“It is.”
“I was worried you'd think I stopped caring.” He looked uncertain.
“No.” You shook your head.
“I just wanted to learn how to like you without...making you responsible for my happiness.” Your chest tightened at his words.
Dean reached for his coffee. “I realised I don't want to lose myself.”
“You haven't.”
“And I don't want to lose you either.” He smiled faintly. “So, I'm trying to do this right.”
You stared at him for a long moment. Then you quietly admitted the truth that had been growing inside you for weeks. “I think this version of you made me fall for you.”
Dean froze, his coffee hovered halfway to his mouth. “What?”
You laughed nervously. “When you stopped needing me...” You reached across the table, your fingers brushing against his. “...I got the chance to choose you.”
The words hung between you. Dean looked at your intertwined hands before meeting your eyes again. “So...”
“So,” you whispered with a smile, “I really, really like you.”
For a second, he simply looked at you, his eyes shining with quiet disbelief. Months ago, he would have wrapped you in his arms immediately, desperate to make sure you were real. Now, he did something much simpler.
He turned his hand over beneath yours, lacing your fingers together. “I really like you too.”
There was no panic or desperation, no fear that you would disappear if he let go. Just two people sitting in a quiet library, smiling at each other over open textbooks, finally choosing one another, and not because they needed to, but because they wanted to.
Hiiii can you do a Tucker story about him being with the coach’s daughter/ niece. Could be smut if you can find a way. Maybe something along the line of there’s genuine interest and not just a hook up ? Thank you! 😊
If you have time and want too im desperate for a dean di laurentis imagine inspired by voodoo doll by 5 seconds of summer and i love your dean stuff! no worries if not
A/N: This was requested by an Anon a few weeks ago. I am so sorry that it took me this long. I know I was gone last week, but with the heatwave... I just couldn't write anything. Also, last week I was very emotional, and I kept thinking about my father. I am doing much better now, thank you guys, for your patience!
Pairing: Timo Meier x reader
Words: 2,3k
Warning(s): none
The engagement had barely lasted an hour before Timo was already talking about the wedding. You were still sitting on the blanket where he'd proposed, your head resting against his shoulder as the late afternoon sun dipped lower over the lake. Your ring caught the light every time you moved your hand, and every few minutes, you found yourself staring at it again, unable to believe this was real. Timo had barely taken his eyes off you since you'd said yes, his smile so constant that his cheeks had to be hurting by now.
You expected him to want to soak in the moment, to celebrate, and maybe call your families first. Instead, he reached into the pocket of his jeans, unlocked his phone, and opened the Notes app with a look of complete concentration. You watched him type for several seconds before leaning over to peek at the screen. At the top was a brand-new note titled Wedding Ideas. Underneath it, he'd already written Venue. Guest list. Band? Swiss desserts? You couldn't help the laugh that escaped you.
“Timo,” you said, nudging him with your shoulder. “We got engaged forty-five minutes ago.”
He looked at you as though that only strengthened his point. “Exactly,” he replied. “We should write things down before we forget.”
You laughed even harder, shaking your head as you wrapped your arms around him. “I can't believe I'm marrying someone who starts planning before we've even called our parents.”
He kissed the top of your head and smiled. “I just don't want to miss anything.”
Everyone assumed the wedding planning would mostly fall on you. They all made the same jokes whenever it came up. Timo won't care about flowers. He's going to show up in a tux, and that's it. You know hockey players. But they couldn't have been more wrong. Even with one of the busiest schedules imaginable, he somehow made sure he was involved in every single decision. If he was on a road trip with New Jersey, he'd FaceTime you from his hotel room after games, still wearing sweatpants with damp hair from the shower while discussing invitation fonts. If he had a long flight after an away game, he'd spend it looking through venue brochures you'd emailed him instead of watching movies with his teammates.
There were mornings where he'd leave for practice before sunrise, train for hours, attend meetings, answer media questions, work out again, and still come home asking, “Did the florist send those new arrangements?” He never made you feel like wedding planning was your responsibility alone. If anything, it became something the two of you looked forward to doing together.
One afternoon, after he'd returned from a week-long road trip, you expected him to be exhausted. He'd played four games in six nights, crossed multiple time zones, and barely slept. You had dinner waiting for him, fully intending to tell him the wedding conversations could wait until the weekend. Instead, he walked through the front door carrying his suitcase in one hand and a folder tucked under his arm. Before he'd even taken his shoes off, he was pulling papers onto the kitchen island.
“Okay,” he said, rubbing his hands together. “I've been thinking.”
You stared at him in disbelief. “You've been thinking?”
“About seating arrangements.”
“Timo...”
He opened the folder proudly. “I made three different layouts.”
You blinked. “Three?”
“Well...” He scratched the back of his neck. “Actually four. But one was terrible.”
You started laughing before you could stop yourself. “You made seating charts on the team plane?”
“There wasn't Wi-Fi for half the flight.”
“So your solution was organizing our wedding guests?”
“It was productive.” You walked around the island until you stood directly in front of him, reaching up to cup his face.
“You're ridiculous.”
“In a good way?”
“The best way.”
His teammates absolutely loved making fun of him for it. Every time he walked into the locker room with wedding magazines sticking out of his backpack or answered your FaceTime calls during lunch breaks to discuss centrepiece ideas, someone inevitably had something to say. “You become a florist overnight?” one teammate laughed after spotting photos of white roses on his phone.
Another teased him for spending fifteen minutes comparing different shades of linen napkins. “Buddy, they're all white.”
Timo didn't even look embarrassed anymore. At first he'd rolled his eyes and ignored them, but eventually he'd just shrug with a smile.
“She cares about it,” he'd answer simply. “So I care about it.” That response usually ended the conversation because there wasn't much else anyone could say. He wasn't pretending to enjoy it either. Somewhere along the way, he genuinely had started caring. He knew the difference between ivory and champagne tablecloths. He had opinions about lighting. He somehow developed strong feelings about string quartets versus acoustic guitarists during cocktail hour. You found it endlessly amusing.
The venue became your biggest challenge. You toured elegant hotels overlooking the water, rustic barns tucked into vineyards, luxurious estates, modern art galleries, and gardens filled with blooming flowers. Every place seemed to be missing something. One felt too formal. Another felt too small. A third simply didn't feel like the two of you.
Weeks passed before your wedding planner suggested one final venue. It was a historic vineyard nestled among rolling hills, with old stone buildings covered in ivy and rows of grapevines stretching toward the horizon. The ceremony space overlooked the valley, and tiny string lights hung between ancient oak trees where the reception would take place after sunset. The second you stepped onto the property, you reached for Timo's hand without even realizing it. Neither of you spoke as you walked through the grounds. You simply looked around, imagining your families gathered there, imagining your first dance beneath the lights, imagining saying your vows surrounded by everyone you loved. When you finally stopped, you turned toward him at the same moment he turned toward you.
“This one?” you whispered. His smile was immediate and completely certain.
“This one,” he agreed softly. “It feels like us.”
As the months passed, wedding planning slowly became woven into your everyday life. You'd be making breakfast while debating whether handwritten place cards looked more personal. You'd spend lazy Sunday mornings curled up on the couch tasting cake samples while watching old movies. Some evenings you'd barely talk about anything except flowers, music, menus, and timelines. Other nights you'd forget about the wedding completely until Timo suddenly remembered something at eleven o'clock.
“Wait,” he'd say from bed. “Do we want candles on every table or just the head table?”
You'd laugh into your pillow. “Can this wait until tomorrow?”
“Probably.”
A pause. “But since we're awake...” You'd groan dramatically while reaching for your phone to look at inspiration photos together. Those little moments became some of your favourites because they weren't really about the wedding. They were about building a life together, learning how the other person made decisions, compromising when your opinions differed, and celebrating when they matched perfectly.
Despite how organized he'd been throughout the planning process, something shifted the night before the wedding. You noticed it almost immediately during the rehearsal dinner. Timo smiled for photos, hugged family members, laughed with friends, and gave a heartfelt speech thanking everyone for traveling so far to celebrate with you. To everyone else, he looked perfectly calm. But you'd been with him long enough to recognize the subtle signs. He kept adjusting the sleeves of his jacket. He bounced one leg beneath the dinner table. Every so often, his eyes found yours from across the room as though he needed reassurance that you were still there.
Later that evening, after everyone had gone back to their hotels, the two of you stood outside beneath the stars, reluctant to say goodbye until the ceremony. According to tradition, you weren't supposed to see each other again until you walked down the aisle. Timo held both of your hands, gently rubbing his thumbs across your knuckles.
“Are you nervous?” you asked quietly.
He hesitated before nodding. “A little.”
You smiled. “About getting married?”
He shook his head immediately. “Never about that.”
“Then what?” He looked down for a moment before meeting your eyes again, his own already suspiciously glassy.
“I just can't believe tomorrow actually gets here.” His voice was almost a whisper. “I've imagined calling you my wife for so long... and now it's real.”
The morning of the wedding was surprisingly peaceful for you. Surrounded by your bridesmaids, your mother, soft music, and the familiar chaos of hair and makeup artists moving around the bridal suite, you found yourself feeling excited more than anything else.
Every now and then someone would ask if you were nervous, and each time your answer stayed the same. “Not really.”
You trusted Timo with your whole heart. Marrying him wasn't the scary part. Waiting to see him was. Meanwhile, across the property, Timo was experiencing the exact opposite. His groomsmen had never seen him so unsettled. This was a man who had played in packed NHL arenas with millions watching on television, who thrived under pressure every single night. Yet somehow tying a tie had become impossible because his hands refused to stop shaking.
“You okay?” his best man asked for the fifth time that morning. Timo let out a breathless laugh.
“I've played playoff hockey.”
“Yeah.”
“This is worse,” Timo confessed.
“Why?”
Timo stared at himself in the mirror for a long moment before answering. “Because hockey games end. This...” He smiled to himself, his expression softening. “...this is forever.”
As the guests took their seats and music floated through the warm afternoon air, Timo stood at the altar trying to steady his breathing. He smiled politely at arriving family members, hugged your father before he took his place, and nodded whenever someone whispered congratulations. But everything around him felt strangely distant. His heart was beating so loudly he was convinced everyone could hear it.
Then the music changed. Every guest stood. Timo instinctively looked toward the end of the aisle and completely forgot how to breathe. You appeared between the rows of chairs, your dress catching the sunlight as you slowly began walking toward him. For one impossibly long moment, the world disappeared. He couldn't hear the string quartet anymore. He couldn't see the guests. He didn't notice the flowers or the decorations that the two of you had spent months carefully choosing together. All he saw was you. Tears filled his eyes before you'd even reached the halfway point, and he laughed softly at himself because he'd promised everyone he wouldn't cry. The promise lasted less than five seconds. By the time you finally stood in front of him, tears were already sliding down his cheeks. You smiled so warmly that your own eyes filled instantly.
“Hi,” you whispered. He shook his head in complete disbelief.
“You're... God, you're beautiful.” His voice cracked halfway through the sentence. “I can't believe you're here.”
You squeezed his trembling hands. “I'm exactly where I'm supposed to be.”
When it came time to read his vows, he unfolded the neatly folded piece of paper he'd carried in his jacket pocket all morning. He looked down at the words he'd rewritten dozens of times over the past several weeks before slowly lifting his eyes to meet yours again.
“I thought planning our wedding meant choosing flowers and tasting cake,” he began, smiling through tears. “But somewhere between venue tours, seating charts, and late-night conversations about things that probably didn't matter to anyone else, I realized we weren't just planning one day. We were practicing for the rest of our lives. Every decision we made, every compromise, every laugh... it reminded me how lucky I am that I get to do life with you.”
His voice faltered as emotion caught in his throat. “People keep asking if I'm nervous today.” He laughed quietly, wiping beneath one eye. “I am. Not because I'm scared to marry you... but because I still can't understand how someone as incredible as you chose me.” By then there wasn't a dry eye anywhere near the altar.
“You are my best friend, my safest place, and the greatest thing that's ever happened to me. No matter how many games I play, how many goals I score, or where hockey takes us, coming home to you will always be the best part of my life. I promise to keep choosing you every single day, for as long as we're both here.”
When the officiant finally pronounced you husband and wife, the applause from your family and friends almost drowned out the sound of Timo laughing against your lips as he kissed you. Months of planning, countless flights, endless decisions, and every ounce of nervous anticipation disappeared the moment he wrapped his arms around you. Pulling back just enough to rest his forehead against yours, he smiled with the same expression he'd worn the day he'd proposed, one of complete wonder.
“Hi, wife,” he whispered, as though trying the words out for the first time.
You smiled so hard your cheeks hurt. “Hi, husband.”
He closed his eyes for a brief second, taking it all in before laughing softly to himself. “You know,” he murmured, “every single seating chart was worth it.”
You laughed through happy tears, shaking your head as everyone around you cheered. “Only you would think about seating charts right now.”
“Maybe,” he admitted, stealing another kiss, “but I get to spend forever with you now.” And for Timo, nothing else in the world had ever felt more important.
