(Character rant/discussion)
Boa Hancock is such an amazing character that showcase how trauma can heavily impact you as a person. How she acts, believes, and tendency is a result of said trauma and her interest in luffy is could've been good way to show it—if the show treat it seriously.
Paraphilic disorder often develop because of trauma and Hancock interest with Luffy aligned with that. This might be an unpopular opinion but I actually don't mind Hancock having a crush on Luffy as long as the show treat it as something serious and shouldn't be encouraged. Yet the show treat this crush as a joke, not because it's fucked up, but because Luffy isn't reciprocating.
Boa Hancock could've been an interesting character that's a pedophile but aren't a predator (yes, they are different), but I know damn sure Oda didn't write her with that in mind. Though I'm open to being wrong!
