The concept of time had always been an unsettling topic for the woman in red and often left her to feel bitter with regret. Robbed of countless memories, conversations that were no longer relevant; there was no moving forward in life when the past continued to show itself within her future. It'd always have a hold on the Lady, for better or worse, no matter how she'd try to run.
There was some point in it all, however, in regards to the war within herself. Time might have reminded the woman of her age and downfalls, but it also blessed her with something she'd never thought to accomplish in her lifetime- motherhood.
Upon chance, fate introduced the noble to a young boy that needed nothing more than guidance and a home. Conflicted, tormented with rules and regulations of the matter, Zaberisk found herself accepting the fact that though the child might not be of blood, she'd take what she could even if her reputation would be tarnished in the process.
Constant battles of two different personalities, desires, habits and both souls terrified of a world they inhabited together; yet time dared to show kindness and blessed the female with a new will to live.
Rodion, once a child, now stood taller in height than she by far. His locks of umber hair flowed freely, framing a face of youth and a growing man. From once a figure she could so easily lift about if need be, now turned into a solid everchanging pillar of strength. He had grown, as children did, and it left the Lady saddened to a degree.
"Ma'?" His voice broke the silence between them, having dragged the woman back to reality and reminded her of their current situation. A shared meal at the dinner table, yet not a bite of food was taken from either party. The young man was too busy updating his mother about his day and regular routine with Kalenhad, and she drowned in the memories that might one day be forgotten when time demanded it.
Something felt off, heavy, and to experience such an emotion felt paralyzing to the Lady.
"Everything alright?" There came the concern, question asked. "Is something wrong?"
Zaberisk raised her emerald gaze to meet that of cerulean.
"I am just thinking to myself, where has the time gone? Just the other day you were a child, playing with wooden swords. Now? They are made of steel." She'd respond in a tone he'd only know of. Gentle, yet stern. "..This Lord Dawnblade prepares you for a future you have always wished for. To serve and protect, a knight in the making and yet I wonder if you realize just how consequential this type of decision making could be."
Rodion eased back into his chair, having to be left in thought before anything could be spoken on his behalf. "But the thing is, Ma', this is something that I was born to do and even if I went down a different path, you would have to let me go eventually." Soft, tenderly said. "It's just a matter of--."
"Time, yes, I know." She'd interrupt.
"Then you also know how serious I am about it. ..You being afraid of my 'big boy' choices is valid, but please understand that I truly believe this is my life purpose. I'm going to be someone one day, I promise you that."
Silence lingered in the air between them, and all that Zaberisk could do was clear her throat; change the topic to something less heavy. The fear of time coming to claim a relic from the past due to her mistakes in life was a ever-growing concern for the woman and yet, there was nothing else to do other than move forward.
Time was a serious thing, always moving forward and never treading back.
She'd just have to come to terms with that.
One day, ..eventually.
The most interesting flower lore I found was from WoWWiki:

I think that this would lend mageroyals an alternate meaning of “prestige” since arcane magic is so important to blood elves.
Idk Clarice, maybe we’re just tired, and life is uncertain, and we like the idea of a stable husband with a steady job and a big dog and his own place away from all the loud, shapeshifting-kink party gods.
