Summary 2023

Hence the end of yet another year,

What a time it is to be alive in this era.

NGL it's been rocky,

I'm still learning about myself and my inner workings, still don't have it all figured out but it is a work in progress.

Finally took the chance to meet and catch up with a few key people in my life.

Coming to terms with certain aspects about life and relationships with people, yet not fully prepared for it.

I've numbed my creativity to be honest, filling it with distractions and other ways of escapism which I are unhealthy. Trying to be better and getting back it drawing.

Anxiety my dear old friend, I'm trying accept the thoughts you tend to bring forth. But some days it still consumes my mind, bring about a sense distress on me.

That is all I wish get off my mind, closing off 2023. Here's to 2024, hoping it to be brighter than what the previous is.

Falling in August

It was always much easier at the beginning, no strings attached.

Two strangers, void of expectations, void of consistency.

Then as with all things in time, it grew closer from days, months then years.

And much like the seasons, change is inevitable.

The beauty of spring, paradise of summer, distance of fall, and lastly silence of winter.

It is a dreadful existence, to know getting closer is all you've ever wanted, but simultaneously wary of how much it is going hurt.

The push and pull, too distant to be known, too close to start hurting.

Most if not all the people we have meet in life, outside the family we were born into, are often people of circumstance I would say so. We never truly have a say of how long we will be in each others company, or when they will have to go. But each person we met, there were the rare few that gets embedded into our hearts, for when we were with them. It felt like finally we are finally able to breath freely, as if all along you were just catching breath floating on the surface.

I was fortunate to have meet a few of such people, where I felt that I'm able to breath at last. But as with most things with father time, days go by and we eventually carried on. The departures are often the saddest, but we live with the truth of it all, facts and reality. Time brings change, and there is no winding back the clock.

I can be happy for the people in my life,

But I can't be happy for myself, as I am constantly battling the darkness that resides within me.

And it is a battle I have to face in silence, the darkest of nights, and the heaviest of hearts.

Some days the light pulls through, but most days the darkness prevails or slips past, creeping in affecting my days.

Most days I pictured in my mind, pieces I wish to lay on the canvas, of the ways or actions of relief I wish to do, such as puffing a smoke and exhaling as if the darkness in me were expelled.

Other times, I would imagine that I was standing by the shores under a gray sky, pausing a minute then letting out a loud shout to the seas. In frustration and relief, as my legs give in and I lay on the sands, letting out tears I've kept within me for such a long time.

Then I'd picked myself back up, and resume each living day as it is all over again, till the kettle fills up.
