﷽
In the Name of Allah, The Beneficent, The Merciful
إن إبراهيم كان أمة ... Surely Abraham was a morally exemplary leader... “As we reach the culmination of the Hajj, we are reminded with vivid clarity of the life and times of our great spiritual patriarch, Abraham. He was a giant whose spiritual and moral strength helped to inspire the great monotheistic religions. As Muslims, we are heirs to his legacy. The nature of our times demands of us that we rise above what the world has made us and assume the mantle of moral leadership. That will require great sacrifices, however, the willingness to sacrifice is one of the defining features of Abraham's life. May Allah bless us to live his example.”
— Imam Zaid Shakir —
“Wealth and poverty is based on contentment and discontent. If you are content with what you have been blessed with, you are wealthy. Wealth is not the possession of abundance, wealth is freedom from need.”
— Imam Zaid Shakir

“Don't aspire to stand on someone else's shoulders. Aspire to be the shoulders that someone else stands on."
-- Imam Zaid Shakir
There is no God, but Allah, and Prophet Muhammad is the final Messenger of God. [translation] -- Imam Zaid Shakir
Imam Zaid Shakir
Makes a prayer for a friend’s son who hurt his foot. He made it all better, all praises to God.
“During easy times we should intensify our worship. We should try to get close to God. By worshipping intensely during the easy times, we “familiarize” ourselves to God. The Scholars say that one of the results of a person constantly worshipping God in easy circumstances is that God becomes accustomed to hearing that person’s voice. Therefore, when he calls on him during difficult times, God hears him and He responds. The Prophet, peace be upon him, mentioned, “Get to know God during the easy times. He will know you during the hard times.” — Treatise for The Seekers of Guidance
Imam Zaid Shakir
“Peace and justice are comprehensive concepts with deep implications. To be true to our appellation, Muslim, we have to be people committed to peace and justice. We must clearly illustrate to the world that our religion is indeed the religion of peace. However, our striving for peace must never allow us to be unjust, nor should it allow us to passively accept injustice.”
-- Imam Zaid Shakir
“The more you submit to Allah, the more liberation you experience. Why? Because you are with Allah and your soul is free from the shackles of the world. It experiences a bliss that’s so deep, it’s indescribable.”
― Imam Zaid Shakir
