Moths are the most fragile pieces I’ve had the pleasure working with. I received a handful of moths grown by the super awesome @annatattoos Unfortunately none of them could withstand the boiling hot solution except this one, and the damage is evident. There is something incredible to be said about nature, when something so thin, so fragile, and so finite can withstand a hot and molecular entropy and emerge resurrected, fortified and repurposed into such a spectacular object of modern alchemy and modern chemistry. We’re celebrating National Poetry Month by sharing Poetry in Crystal, a collaboration between Steuben Glass and thirty-one American poets. The poets wrote new poems between eight and forty lines in length and Steuben designers and artists interpreted the poems in crystal.
