“What’s the problem, Lexie? Lost your sense of humor?”
With acting a lot of the time it’s people scrutinizing your face. With writing, they’re scrutinizing your thoughts – so both feel particularly invasive, to be honest. That’s why I don’t like watching things I’ve been in, because I don’t want to be aware of myself as some sort of specimen. I like the artistry of acting, but again it comes back to that commodification of actors and the way people are discussed and scrutinised. And I should say that for women it’s probably a million times worse than it is for men.
Jesse Eisenberg on acting vs. writing (x)
First rule of magic: always be the smartest guy in the room.
America’s attitudes towards race and the Holocaust; political correctness; the film industry and writer’s envy - Jesse Eisenberg offers fascinating insights to them all.
We have a winner! The best Jesse interview during Now You See Me campaign is done by an Irish music magazine who’s actually willing to listen to Jesse and let him talk as much theatre as he wants (more than half of the final report, for a moment I totally forgot this was supposed to be about promoting a summer movie lol), how ironic.
