I need to improvise some pegs for her feet to fit into the stand but TBH she will actually balance on a desk without it. Eventually I'll see if I can paint her. I do also need to do some more work scraping away some of the extra thread-like residue as well.

Unfortunately the date of chapter 141 is not listed as of yet, likely due to the changes being made regarding the hosting site. Hopefully more clarity on that soon.

Murata Shinya had shared this post on his old X account showing a couple story board pages around ch 36. I think its interesting to see the author's storyboards before Sumida Kuzuasa draws them officially. Naturally I found the ones that featured my favorite girl.

What's fun is I remember that chapter vividly so it connects one to one in my mind with Sumida's art. I do think its interesting how Murata draws her clothes loose and her tail black compared to Sumida drawing the clothes tight and the tail white in most panels.

Killing Bites Ch 137 Reflection

I didn’t want to spoil anything for anyone, so I’ve avoided talking about this until now.

Maybe not many people care that much, but to me, it was something important. Since it’s been about a month since #KillingBites Chapter 137, I feel like it’s probably okay to say this now.

After Chapter 116, I think I had more or less accepted that Deshi probably wouldn’t be coming back.

She was my favorite character, so honestly, it was hard. I was really drawn to her energy and how fun (and a little goofy) she was.

It might have been the first time I ever felt that emotionally attached to a character.

But I told myself that if it was necessary for the story, then it couldn’t be helped.

And then, when that panel appeared in Chapter 137… I think I just froze for about ten minutes.

It was such a shock. But it was the good kind of shock.

It’s kind of amazing how much a character can affect someone’s heart.

I’m just really happy she’s alive.

Even if the story never focuses on her again, that alone is enough to make me happy.

If she ends up retiring, I can understand that too.

But still… I can’t help hoping she won’t.

…In the end, maybe I’m just a irredeemable fan.

Design Analysis of Murata Deshi:

I'm not sure how much of this was intentional by Murata Shinya but I kind of thought her design was actually quietly clever as a vehicle to deliver commentary compared to Mai's podium based announcing. Unfortunately I think Mai would get muddled in similar scenes if he tried to use her in the same way. Maybe its designed around the cat she's named for or maybe some of this actually crossed his mind. Without having the chance to ask him directly who can say?

If anyone likes Killing Bites this creator has made models for 3D print including my girl Murata Deshi as well as Hitomi, Eruza, Mai, Ena with more to come. I think he's working on a Kuroi model at the moment. He also had been working on a Killing Bites fan game as well.

A bunch of Panel studies of Murata Deshi I did to cope with Ch 116 of Killing Bites. I don't think I ever had such a visceral reaction of grief for a fictional character like that before. Especially a non-central, non-fighter character. Yes I'm aware of Ch 137, this is more, the history of my suffering haha.
