Time to ramble about the Fitzsimmons family because I'm still without internet and I'm thinking a lot about them, but I don't have the original book, just a fan Portuguese translation, so I could be wrong in some parts (also thinking about anthro/apocalypse au so Stephan is on it as well):
ā¢ Alberto Fitzsimmons was Audrey's father, like I mentioned in other posts (since he mentioned Audrey would stay "burning" in the sun when she was young)
ā¢ Jeffrey/Jeff was son of another successful teacher (since it was mentioned that "he was going to follow his father's steps" in the book) and his father was a good friend with Alberto
ā¢ Millie's mean uncle, Rob, is Jeff's twin brother and he's more successful in a way than Jeff
ā¢ They adopted Stephan after Audrey's mom couldn't have kids anymore and they wanted a "boy"
ā¢ Stephan was adopted by other parents before but it never worked out, because of his "hard-to-work-with" personality and having gigantism, so he would go back to the orphanage
ā¢ By "hard-to-work-with", Alberto soon discovered it was because of undiagnosed autism and people not knowing how to treat him right and thinking sensory overload was him being "annoying" and a "bother"
ā¢ Stephan was sometimes aggressive as well and he had a hard time connecting and interacting with others
ā¢ But Stephan was really the baby of the family (since he was 2 years younger than Audrey), and turned out to be a great cooker and wanting to be a "stay at home G.I. Joe", so he would cook a lot for Audrey and take care of Millie after they grew up
ā¢ Anyway, Stephan was part of the basketball team and Audrey was part of the music team in school
ā¢ Stephan was more respected in a way since he was nearly the leader and was one of the best players. Audrey was extremely talented back then (she played mostly violin and piano) and she still plays after getting older (Millie really liked the sound of it!!)
ā¢ One of their family photos (that they took before grandma died), Stephan has a swollen eye and a broken nose, that they kinda went with it bc he was constantly fighting with others
ā¢ That one time specifically, someone was picking on Jeffrey and Stephan probably broke someone's arm
ā¢ Audrey and Stephan didn't get along at first because she didn't like how aggressive he could become with people he disliked (in contrast to him becoming a sad bear if someone he liked got slightly upset with him) and how he would react to sound
ā¢ She just somehow tried to speak to him after he started to get bullied in school for being like 15 years old and not having a s/o/having a hard time to connect to others and developing depression after Bonbon left school
ā¢ Also grandma died around this time, so it was really a punch in his stomach since he got along with her :C
ā¢ Also the whole thing of people back then not taking depression and other mental health issues seriously
ā¢ But after that, they became really close and would share and be open to each other a lot
ā¢ Because of him having a hard time setting down in a family, he had a huge problem with Meg being a terrible mom to Alec and Hazel, but he kinda learned to avoid getting in physical fights and to control his anger
ā¢ But he really wish he could
ā¢ Since he was probably the only close person Audrey and Jeffrey had that was trans, I feel like they asked him for help after Millie came out as trans to them
ā¢ Also he was the first person that learned she was trans for the same reason and because Stephan was the one that took care of her, alongside grandpa, through the day (but mostly Stephan lol) while her parents were at work
ā¢ AND!!! He reacted the same way when Millie and Noah (Lucas' son) were born: he cried a lot
ā¢ And changing some things, but he re-met Bonbon in the hospital Millie was born
