addicted to putting the undead in stupid but weirdly domestic situations
arkveld but slightly different 2
karaba 💛 got an anon a day ago asking if i've ever seen this movie and no i haven't.. but now i have... and i had to draw this queen stat
Inked the rough sketch of my two fan Glukkons because I need to practice again.
Holiday and Hook. Vitriolic besties. They give each other anxiety. Comes as a pair do not separate. They come as a BOGO. They're out to set up their little empires out west before anyone else gets the idea.
Holiday, a clove cigarette smoking dandy with a interest in genetic engineering in the name of aesthetics and just because he'd really rather not go into a super competitive field. He's convinced if he could get some privacy and better supplies he could figure out how to make sligs more appealing so people don't have to tolerate such ugly bodyguards. So far only one has survived his efforts and he calls it his "Teacup sliggy" which is treated like a purse dog. Holiday adores Hook but he'd probably be calmer if he wasn't a frequent victim of her biting and headbutting.
Hook, owner of a chain of convenience stores looking to try setting up a monopoly out west. She's not ashamed to handle something herself even if it means breaking a few Glukkon social rules and appearances. This has given her a lot of mixed PR and made her a terror to her own sligs but you can't argue her results. Hook adores Holiday but she'd probably appreciate his company more if he'd stop bragging on that stunted growth Slig of his.
Apparently I got the idea of drawing Johanna as a bit chunky and plus sized as a means to practice a different body type, that and I thought it be cute. So since I posted it on Bluesky, I might as well post this nonsense on the appropriate blog.
Okay, so what if uh… wargs were a thing in Hilda?
Had a quick doodle idea wondering how wargs would work in Hilda, as well as doubling as practice in attempting to copy the show’s style and color theory. My general idea were that wargs are hooved canids situated in the very edge of Trolberg, in a region known as Steinnharr or the Sea of Stones. There’s not much detail in the region, since it only appeared in the map for the graphic novel version of Bird Parade and the canon details of the geography of Hilda fluctuates in both the comics and the show, but I like to think that the ecosystem in that specific area would be a major inverse compared to the creatures present in the main region, with trolls being the most common organism there while there are a ton of bizarre species only endemic to that region, with one of them being a predatory offshoot of deerfoxes that hunt large game like woffs and horses called wargs.
Deerfoxes and wargs would be pretty genetically close despite the different niches and morphologies both species take, with the wargs being more stockier and muted in color while the deerfoxes are gracile and have bright white coats.
i physically cannot be stopped and i'm using 0 colour reference for safety uniforms. i dont like how gerda is (not personally) but im too tired to fix it rn........ aargh!!
The children in the fandom are doing another set of tierlists with the addition of characters from S3, so I might as well throw my hat into the ring again.
Yes, this is very objectively fact. How can you tell?
Just learned about what happened with Luke Pearson, uh…
Something fun for the fandom.
Currently thinking about doing some scripting and designs for the S3 redux ideas I have (I’ll be sure to post them here and reblog them on the main account) and since I got reminded of that post about the ancient giants and the cladistics behind the nisse and trolls, it got me thinking.
What are some zoological or ecological HCs you have for the creatures in Hilda? Especially pre-S3?
I have some personal ones for some of the critters in the show, like for example woffs having vestigial limbs since they mainly carried themselves aloft through an enlarged air sac, or deerfoxes nearly having been driven extinct at one point though to overhunting and habitat fragmentation from humans once they settled to the area that would be Trolberg, which explains them predominantly hiding in the auroras.
Though I am interested what the rest of you lot have in terms of HCs related to the creatures in the show and in the comics, whether it be more rooted in science or rooted in real world folklore.
I know half of ya’ll are tired of me complaining again but whatever, the writing for S3 still gets to me.
I still can’t get over that fact that they brought up the idea of Johanna having been harboring magical gangrene since she was a baby, never bringing it up again for the next half hour or so, and only now using it to make a fake out death with her towards the end of the finale, like what’s even the point of her even having it? That’s like bringing up Arthur Morgan having tuberculosis once in the mid point of the story and never bringing it up again until the very end of his section in RDR2. It is a genuinely baffling writing choice for a consistently well written show like Hilda.
Bellkeeper should’ve wore like this if he was brought up in S3 besides a cameo I think.
