In the beginning, the twelve siblings were fighting at the Olympus over superficial things, Hades was just observing them and had been thinking that his siblings are shallow that causes chaos in the human world. He has a principle to distance himself from the toxic people so no one will dare to destroy his peace. This was before they were swallowed by Kronos. Then after the war, the twelve Olympians had parted the kingdom. This time, he understood that his siblings hate to govern the underworld because of its reputation so he had no choice but to govern it because his siblings had already decided even without his consent. As the time goes by governing the underworld, he became sad, lonely, and had been thinking what things he can do to make himself happy. He became sadder when he knew that the population of people had been increasing who had hatred towards him because they feared death. Because of his sadness, he had thought, why not to use his richness as his happiness since underworld has many minerals that he can convert into gold or things he wanted to get as an exchange. But it wasn't enough, still not happy, he is still crying in silence and darkness until he went selfish since he had thought that he is always the one who understands and being considerate. "Why am I the only one who understands? I have my rights to be understood too. Why not that I should think of myself also?" As he was allowed to go out once a year, he went to the feast at the Olympus where he met the daughter of Zeus and Demeter, Persephone. He sees her as young, beautiful, innocent, and gullible. Persephone was the first one who approached Hades when their eyes met. They had been chatting the whole feast. Finally, Hades felt appreciated and happiness. After that, he always go out from the underworld just to visit Persephone even it is a reckless move from the law, because he is only allowed to go out once a year. Every time he goes back from the underworld, his servants had noticed that he is slowly going back to his true self. He became considerate to the souls who wanted to be reincarnated or to go back to the world because of unfinished businesses. One day, Demeter had noticed that Hades had been visiting her daughter often. She told Hades to let go of his feelings from her daughter, because she knew that Hades is slowly smitten by her daughter, plus she has a bad impression to Hades. Since he is driven by his attraction to Persephone, he kidnapped her. When she woke up, she cried because she isn’t familiar to the place and it is filled with darkness. Then, she suddenly realized that she’s in the underworld based from the description of her mother when she was still a kid. She immediately walked-out from the room where she slept to find Hades. After that, she saw Hades talking to the souls filled with hatred. She asked Hades, why she is in the underworld. Hades dismissed the souls for a moment so they can talk. Then, Hades asked Persephone if she isn’t happy to be with him in the underworld. He even offered her foods, but she denied them all. She admitted that she is really happy to be with him when they were in Olympus but not when he took her away from her mom. Hades tried to talk with her but she kept being grumpy with Hades and kept telling him that she wanted to go back at the Olympus. They both contemplate while many people have died due to starvation because of Demeter’s anger, being over-protective to her daughter. Then, Persephone finally understood Hades when she was thinking why Hades acted reckless at the same time, Hades noticed that more souls kept appearing in his kingdom and he understood that Demeter did it. He immediately went to look for her as Persephone was looking for him too. Persephone went back to a happy girl she was and Hades was confused. She told him what Hades had been feeling for her. She appreciated Hades for loving her and she feels secured that Hades will never hurt her. Then Hades admitted to Persephone that he is indeed in love with her. Persephone embraced Hades that made him feel relieved because of what he did to her. Then he finally realized that "whenever you feel unloved or neglected, doesn't mean that they don't love you. Love's isn't self-seeking, instead be selfless, it's up to them to return your love or not, because if you really love the person, you will choose and support her according to her happiness instead for your happiness." Then Hades let go of Persephone for Demeter because the world is chaotic because of poverty, starve, war, etc. When he finally let her go in the Olympus, he cried because he really love her but at the same time he is happy because the world will be okay. He went back to the underworld to heal himself and to move-on. He still thinks about her time-to-time, but he told himself that he had done the right thing even it does not feel good for him.
