Three days ago was the day of the dead here on Mexico. I decided to make a speed paint of La Muerte since she’s such a nice character with amazing design! Skin made of sugar, a giant sombrero with candles on top, a Catrina. I just loved her the first time I saw her, and now that I finally watched The Book Of Life, I love her much more. The most beautiful animated character, in my opinion.

I Watched this movie for the first time in my life and I saw some amazing fanart of Manolo as La Muerte. Of course I had to do one too😂.
I regret missing this movie when I was a kid.
the only time the song Creep by Radiohead was a nice edition to a movie was in The Book of Life

chakal being captain mondragon is such a WHOLE thing thematically especially with tbol’s WHOLE THING with Gender and Family But Dads Specifically its like. wow! joaquin doesn’t have a dad anymore because his dad was trapped into the idea that he could be invincible and untouchable and trying to preserve that idea of himself transformed him into something monstrous and joaquin inherited the same idea of that from him (without even knowing him!!!!!!!!!! without having any idea!!!!!!! got it from xibalba disguised as an ordinary man, xibalba who explicitly calls joaquin His Boy, xibalba who the medal is LICHRALLY designed after) and it almost fucking kills him too??? that is SO weird. i bet this doesnt mean anything though
