Ancestries of the Archipelago
I'm making these for fun, but I will also include them in the handouts for my RPG games
The Thief of Tales, our webcomic, turns 7 today! Well technically it’s still 1 because we started on a February 29th... But I digress, it’s 7 years of getting lost in the forest! Thank you for following us around!!
Atlan the brave fool
First character I get to play (not as a GM) since forever! Icon is a lot of fun and the art for the class really inspired me :D
They go by "The Scales of Justice" and are maybe a little too intense. (Firrhek is Eve's and Fulgur is mine)
There's no way drawing and sharing my next idea for a RPG character is going to curse it to never be played like all the others, right? Especially on a Friday 13th!
Some of the D&D characters I played through the years, starting at 12 years old. I had a lot more but I picked those that had the biggest impact on me. I might do the characters from other rpg systems later :)
Would you be interested if I took all my Mechanical Arcana (robot tarot), colored them and made them into a deck of cards and booklet? (this is a rapidly put together mockup, not a final preview!)
That reminds me I should post all my last Inktobers here as well :)
More backlog. This is a set from the first time I opened Blender two years back thinking I would learn 3d at my own pace as a hobby. It was painful, but fun, not knowing how to do much of anything, and I still like how these turned out a fair bit. It wasn’t meant to last I suppose as 3d is pretty baked into my work pipeline these days. Mixed feelings.
On a brighter note, these pieces unexpectedly ended up landing me work that I also enjoy. A good reminder to fill your portfolio with the work you’d like to be doing, not just what you think an AD wants to see.
My version of some of the factions from Dune (I drew these in late 2020)
I’ve always felt the book had a swashbuckling theme to it so I tried to represent that in the designs.
We have a new character in this chapter of The Thief of Tales (you can read it online for free!) so I needed to do a quick modelsheet.
A few NPCs the players have met in our current game: Prince Ishan, Arcanist Ashriel and the bard Erki (one of the best/worst NPCs I’ve ever created).
Magic weapons from our current campaign.
Raghaza the spear of guardians (an extending spear) and Flare (a transforming bow)
Red Mystics faction NPCs from our D&D game
Kiristati and Lophos
Two species of domesticated animals from the setting I use for our TTRPG games
The Wizard Octavia
I've been away from here for a long time so I'm trying again to see how it feels :) This is Octavia, a wizard academy dropout, back to adventuring at 43 after her missing husband left her only debts! Yes she has the worst shoes for the job, but it's a price she's willing to pay to be taller than poor people.
