Zeev Morrow. 18. I am the guilty girl from District 7. After my parents died, I was brought up in a community home. Nothing nice, hard work, abuse... and lots of tesserae taken... my name in the draw who knows how many times... and yet I'm still here. Still alive. My name was never called. What did I do to deserve that?
Zeev fussed in the kitchen over the cookies she’d been making, not sure why they mattered so much. After Xavier’s revelation that Hayden was pregnant and they didn’t know what to do… she decided to ask someone for advice. Zeev didn’t know Madge all that well, but she knew how kind the woman was and how motherly… and she hoped that she might at least have some idea of what to do.
It was why she was anxious about the cookies, perhaps a part of her wanted to impress Madge- Eric wasn’t home or they probably would have disappeared the moment she got them out of the oven. She assumed, knowing how anxious she was he left her to it… or maybe he had other things planned. Either way, she was alone- at least she was until there was a knock on the door, making her jump.
She managed a soft laugh at herself and tried to relax- it was just Madge after all. Not like Madge had never been here before… Shaking off the thoughts, she answered the door and invited Madge in, guiding her to take a seat in the kitchen. She thought she saw a small smile on Madge’s face when she saw the cookies.
The two of them sat at the counter and Madge smiled gently at Zeev, “So.. what is it you wanted to talk about?”
“It’s about Xavier,” She said softly and Madge nodded a little, “his girlfriend… Hayden, uhm… she was attacked… raped.” Her voice softened as she got straight to the point and Madge’s face grew concerned.
“Oh the poor thing… how is she handling it? How is Xavier doing?”
“He’s okay and… I think he’s helping her a lot. He’s grown into a wonderful young man, really, I’m very proud of him. But uhm… recently there was a new development.” Zeev responded.
A small frown crossed Madge’s face and she indicated for Zeev to continue, so she did. “They found out that she’s pregnant. Xavier said aborting it is off the table, but he’s not sure about them being able to handle a child and… after both of them experiencing community homes firsthand… neither of them want to go down that road. I think when he told me he was hoping for advice but… I really have no idea what to tell him.” Zeev said and sighed, “I thought… maybe you would be able to help in some way. Everyone always says what a wonderful mother you are and… I don’t know. Any advice you have would be appreciated.”
She watched as Madge chewed her lower lip slowly, a little frown on her face, “Well… I’ve never had to deal with anything like this, although I did have a pregnancy scare when I was young…” The idea was occurring to her now but she couldn’t say anything to Zeev yet. “Maybe you could introduce me to them, or at least, Hayden?" She had met Xavier a couple of times, though only briefly, "I think I could at least give some kind of maternal advice to Hayden…”
The idea itself would have to wait until she spoke to Kyan, it was no light decision after all but requesting this would be enough for now. Whether or not the idea that had just formed itself in her head came to fruition... she wanted to help Xavier and Hayden. Zeev nodded, “Sure. Sure… anything is better than nothing. I’ll introduce you both…”
Xavier still hadn’t really wanted to leave Two, and Hayden but she insisted that he go back home for a visit and so very reluctantly he left, promising her he’d be back in a few days. He was exhausted when he finally dragged in home, finding himself wrapped up in Zeev’s comforting arms where he surprised himself by finally crying.
