Lyla loved the feeling of being in the boys arms, it made everything about being at the beach so much better. It changed the experience of being there to a less lonely one— which was also nice. The girl shrugged when he mentioned how he was sorry for her loss. “Thanks.” She said sweetly. Losing Lyla’s mother was one of the worst things the girl was ever put though— no, it was the worst. She remembers the day she passed like it was yesterday— she didn’t even get to say goodbye. The was in third period when she was pulled out of school early to find out the news, it was devastating, but it also taught Lyla how precious life was. There are times where the girl could remember all the good times she’s shared with her mother and smile, but there were also the moments that brought her to tears because she’d wish she could create more memories with her. Or, she’d wish she could share something exciting with her— she definitely wished she could have introduced her to Zeke, she would have loved Zeke. “Yeah, she really did.” she paused. “I’m frighted for the day people find this place.” She admitted.
It was a new sensation to Zeke, being with Lyla on the beach at night. It was new setting that simply took his breath away, in the best way something can. Usually he'd be out at the party they'd left doing god knows what but for once he didn't want to be there. He didn't want the massive amounts of people and alcohol, he just wanted to lay on the beach wrapped up with her. Maybe it was all just because of the simple fact that he didn't feel so alone. "I think this place might have a way of keeping itself safe." Zeke said as he his arms draped over her waist. "Like I knew this park out in Seattle when I was way younger, I think the last time I was there I was five. I remember it being kinda like this; no one really came to it, secluded and such. It never really saw a lot of people asides from my parents and me and I think that maybe just the atmosphere attracts people who just need a getaway if you know what I mean?" He told her. Talking about his memories was odd but Zeke felt like if Lyla could share something as beautiful as the beach then he could share that with her.
