Yes I have and I have so many thoughts on it.
Tyra is DIABOLICAL but she isnât the only one who should be taking all of the blame.
Tyra Banks shouldnât have let the producers needs for ratings and entertainment overshadow her original mission with the show.
So much was omitted from the documentary that it felt incomplete.
I donât believe that Tyraâs shouting match with Tiffany was genuine, I believe that Tyra just wanted a moment for ratings because she did not have to yell at that girl like that. If they really wanted her to win then the producers would have ensured that it happened.
They set those girls up to fail, if the show was to be reflective of the modeling experience those girls would have been doing go sees with real agencies every episodes and the test shoots would have used photos that they actually could put in their portfolios. Those challenges were absolutely ridiculous.
Nepotism is rampant in modeling but Tyra could have used her connections with all of the big designers and agencies in NYC to give jobs to the girls that were really hungry for it. For Danielle to have a Tyra Banks connection booking zero gigs and to be roommates with Chanel Iman who was a huge supermodel in that time is crazy to me.
Those girls should have sued for PTSD, those girls were literally used as bait to humiliate. I feel bad for Ebony and Shandi.
I did not care for the microagressions in the judging panel, Iâm surprised they never spoke about the judges critiquing Yaya for dressing âToo Africanâ in addition to them calling Ebony ashy.
I feel like the judging on the show reflected the industry at the time, the modeling industry is brutal and rejection happens all the time. Those girls wasnât prepared for it and needed thick skin, I feel this is why Eva Marcille is one of the few that succeeded, she was very confident.
There were a lot of girls on that show that were BEAUTIFUL and should have won that would have had HUGE careers in modeling if they never went on that show. I remember one season there was a contestant that looked exactly like Iman, GORGEOUS girl who would have been scouted on the street and working big gigs in 3 days. I remember she did an ad campaign for Fashion Fair cosmetics with Sam Fine.
How she did the Jayâs and Nigel Barker was DIABOLICAL. She really fired them on their day off.
I feel so bad for Ms. Jay, I hope he fully recovers. Tyra ainât never reaching out to that man though.
