Assuming no one will care even if I tag this to make myself feel better.
Bare bones of my Genshin x A3! Au- Go! (All Ages are Year 1 ages when the Traveler appears in Mondstat) oh, Genshin Spoilers ahead. You’ve been warned. (I tried not to replace characters, but I almost did.)
Spring Troupe:
Sakuya- Pyro Vision, Sword. Born in Inazuma, he was brought to Mondstat (Springvale) at age 7 by a distant relative after his grandfather’s death and no sign of his parents returning from sea. Growing up there, he grew to admire the knights and dreams of becoming one as well.
Masumi- Electro Vision, Sword. Born in Inazuma, moved to Liyue Harbor because of his parents and their business ventures. He spends his days by the docks, staring out to sea towards Inazuma, and hanging out with Xinyan. Most would say they are unlikely friends, but music bonds them together. Masumi isn’t allowed to leave Liyue, but he one day wishes to travel with Xinyan and spread their music throughout Teyvat.
Tsuzuru- Anemo Vision, Catalyst. A writer who traveled from Inazuma to Mondstat in pursuit of new inspiration. Though his original purpose was such, he ends up being known for being everywhere at once due to how many odd jobs he takes on in the city. He had always been interested in tales of this far away land and changed his life when he decided to leave Inazuma illegally. He wants to back to Inazuma one day, and share, with his writing, everything he experienced.
Itaru- Hydro Vision, Catalyst. Born to a poor family in Inazuma, the only fond memories of his childhood were filled with his two best friends. Through the years, they drifted apart, mostly due to the conflict with Narukami Island and Watatsumi Island. Even into adulthood, he wasn’t expected to amount to much, until he decided to travel to Watatsumi Island himself to reunite with one of his friends. Getting caught in the cross fire, he ends up joining the resistance.
Citron- Dendro (Vision?), Claymore. (I haven’t developed this backstory enough due to Sumeru being unreleased) A noble(?) from Sumeru who travels to Inazuma after the Sakoku Decree is lifted with his most trusted friend and Guard. Though his personality is unpredictable to most, there is no doubt that he holds a wealth of knowledge.
Chikage- Dendro Vision, Anemo Delusion, Polearm. A mysterious man who hails from Snezhnaya and is affiliated with the Fatui. Whether or not he is a Harbinger is undetermined. He travels to Inazuma in search of someone, but he is there under the guise of patching up the relationship between Inazuma and Snezhnaya.
Tenma- Pyro Vision, Sword. Born and raised in Inazuma, with dreams of being an actor/performer, and hearing stories of his parents traveling troupe in their younger days before they “settled” on Inazuma. He makes it his goal to leave Inazuma and see the world, accompanied by his three two trusted, though annoying, friends.
Yuki- Dendro Vision, Bow. Born to a family in Inazuma who worked with textiles and clothing, he thought his destiny in life was to help his older sister with running the family business. However, it became his dream for his designs to be seen throughout the world, not just in Inazuma. He felt stifled, and his family understood. And somehow, he got roped into Tenma’s plans of leaving Inazuma as a traveling troupe.
Muku- Hydro Vision, Bow. He was born into a clan that worked under and for the Kujou Clan. He thought for a long time that the Shogun’s word was law, and should not be questioned. But when the Vision Hunt decree was declared, he was forced to reevaluate his life and what he believed in. He left his family behind to join the Resistance on Watatsumi Island, knowing one day he’d face his family on the battlefield.
Misumi- Electro Vision, Polearm. He lived in Inazuma, born to an influential clan who worked for the Kanjou Commission. He ran away from home at a young age, after realizing the life his parents wanted him to live was not one he would be happy with. He found work with Nagonohara Fireworks. He was always so happy-go-lucky and eccentric that it caught most people off guard when he openly opposed the Vision Hunt decree and the Shogun. He had to escape Inazuma because he was being hunted by the Tenryou Commission. He ended up with Beidou on the Crux Fleet and now sails the seas with her and her crew.
Kazunari- Anemo Vision, Catalyst. Like Yuki, he always thought his calling was being an artist like his family. However, he didn’t like the strictness of the art, and the stiffness of the atmosphere. When Tenma and came to him with a plan to travel the world, he readily agreed. He wanted Freedom.
Kumon- Hydro Vision, Claymore. Born into a clan that worked for and under the Kujou Clan, he thought his life was pretty simple and laid out. He wanted to train to be a soldier like his brother, but his brother was very against it. When the vision hunt decree was declared, he and his cousin often fought over what was right, though his cousin leaving led him to rethink everything he knew.
Autumn Troupe: (This is where it starts to get really... dark)
Banri- Electro Vision, Sword. His life in Inazuma is boring. Everything is easy, even running from the Tenryou Commission. The only thing keeping him in Inazuma is the Sakoku Decree and the fact that he still hasn’t beat his enemy in combat, Juza. When the vision Hunt Decree was Declared, he didn’t hesitate to join the resistance, knowing Juza would be on the opposing side.
Juza- Cryo Vision, Claymore. His whole life he had the expectation placed on him that he would join the Soldiers in the Tenryou Commission. He looked the part, so he had to act the part. But he didn’t want to do any of it. What he wanted to do was learn how to cook and bake so he would make delicious things for his family and others. But he suppressed those dreams for the sake of his younger brother. He would shoulder the burden of making the family proud. He rose in the ranks of the Shogun’s Army quickly, a great asset on the front lines.
Taichi- Pyro Vision, Polearm. When he was younger, he had many dreams and aspirations that had to do with leaving Inazuma and exploring the world with his best friends. When he was fifteen, that all became obsolete. He disappeared, never to be heard from again. He fell into the Abyss, his sanity slowly slipping away, his dreams becoming those of the Abyss Princess’, and becoming a hollow shell of what he once was. He was saved by the Abyss Princess shortly after falling, facing death and pleading to live. She took pity on him and took him under her wing. Trained him. The once clumsy and insecure teenager became a battle worn fighter, ready to do anything for his savior.
Omi- Electro Vision, Claymore. He and his best friend used to run a gang, a rather well known and successful gang. Until the Vision Hunt decree. Nachi became a casualty and Omi sought revenge. Though he is not quite affiliated with the Resistance, he is definitely on their side. He leads his own forces, the remnants of the gang, into battle.
Sakyo- Geo Vision, Sword. A retainer for the Izumida Clan that works closely with the Kamisato Clan and is part of the Yashiro Commission. His work ethic rivals that of the Commissioner’s, so a lot of work is delegated his way. He is known for his background as a street rat with no where to go, but no one dares bring that up now that he’s affiliated with the Yashiro Commission.
Azami- Cryo Vision, Bow. The heir to the Izumida Clan, he knows he isn’t quite as unlucky as Lady Kamisato when it comes to wanting to do what he wants. He understands his duty, but that doesn’t stop him from running away and getting caught up in trouble every now and then. Sakyo is always hot on his trail when that happens, tasked with keeping him safe more than anything else.
Tsumugi- Anemo Vision, Bow. Born and raised on Watatsumi Island, he used to travel to Narukami Island with his parents when they would make trade there. This was how he met his two childhood friends, whom he kept in his thoughts even into adulthood, after relations with Narukami Island became worse. Like everyone else on the island, he looks up to the Divine Priestess and immediately offered himself to the resistance.
Tasuku- Geo Vision, Sword. When he was younger, he played with two kids around his age until one day, there were only the two of them. It wasn’t long before his father told him to train to be a soldier, and he did just that until he was officially part of the Tenryou Commission. He became a general in the Shogun’s Army easily, fighting alongside General Kujou. His resolve, he thought, would never shake.
Hisoka- Cryo Vision, Claymore. A Snezhnayan who washed up on the shore of Watatsumi Island with no memory of who he was or how he got there. He spends most of his time resting, sleeping, and recovering from having been lost at sea. The only Identification they could find on him was a Fatui symbol and the clothes on his back, but nothing more. Every thing else had been lost at sea.
Homare- Dendro Vision, Catalyst. A poet from Inazuma who used to work for the Kanjou Commission before he decided he’d had enough of his stuffy job and sailed off towards Liyue Harbor. He wanted to travel the world, see everything there was to see. He enjoys Operas in Liyue, and the Bards of Mondstat. Last he was seen was on his way to Sumeru, after returning to Liyue Harbor once more on his way there.
Azuma- Cryo Vision, Polearm. An Adeptus in Liyue who has served Rex Lapis for a very long time. He is known as the Bringer of Snow, as he brings with him the frigid temperatures that one would find on Dragonspine. He, like Rex Lapis, retired and is now living peacefully amongst the Humans of the Harbor. He is still a mentor to the younger adepti, though none take him more seriously than Ganyu.
Guy- Geo Vision, Catalyst. Half Inazuman, Half Sumerian(?), he finds himself in Inazuma after his Lord(?) brings him there after the Sakoku Decree was lifted. He learns more about himself and his lost family on their journey.
If you’ve read this far, just know, I appreciate you. I’ve put a lot of thought into this already and would like to do something with it. I have much more that I haven’t put on this list, but this is bare bones. There are relationships to explore and stories to be had. I expect people to disagree with my vision and weapon assignment, and most of them have reasons. Some, like Kazunari, apparently don’t? A lot of this information was stored in my head anyway.
(Also, side note, I am one of the people who believe that Aether is the Canon Traveler, so that is why I have “Abyss Princess” down. I play Lumine but in playing her have noticed things about her that make me sure she is the one in the Abyss. Her attack patterns are more refined and her control of the elements is visibly better than her brother’s. I have no life so I use my time analyzing these two games more than anything. But I’m also aware of the fact that Genshin is supposed to be a self insert type game. Whether or not one is canon and the other isn’t doesn’t matter. People are allowed to believe what they want to believe and neither is going to be truly canon.)
