“Should I join in on this new game? It looks like fun.” A small smirk formed on his lips as he removed his jacket.

Ian had grown accustomed to his peaceful lifestyle. Because his powers were limited, he didn’t see the need to train other than hitting the gym every single morning. If he were honest with himself, he’d realize that his actions were a defense mechanism intended to protect himself from feeling homesick. He found himself regretting his inactivity the second the monsters appeared out of nowhere. While he could easily take the monsters down with a few well placed shots, his reaction time was slower. Regardless, Ian couldn’t remain in the safe zones when people were in danger. Ignoring the warnings for people guarding the safe zones, Ian ventured out into the city killing the monsters as he rushed down the streets. 

And then he found himself surrounded by monsters. “Oh my!” Shrugging his shoulders, Ian jumped into the nearby tree picking off the monsters one by one with his gun. He should probably call for help before the situation got out of control. Pulling out his phone, Ian texted his boyfriend his location with the caption help me. Hopefully, Peter would show up before the tree was completely surrounded by monsters.

“Aaaaaaah… This is no good, no good at all!”

“It’s already the third consecutive summer where I have to fight monsters of some form to survive! Can’t we just enjoy beaches and ice cream in peace?!”

Not to count that all of those times were preceeded by an unusual thing happening first too. It’s like their governors have a pretty bad way of dealing with heat.

“I know the feeling. I arrived here after spending two years in another city run by mad scientists who enjoyed fucking up my summer. I’d like to at least go a couple of months without worrying about certain doom.”

—✕ █ ▌Loghain REMEMBERS to kiss Gaster, as if to signify his affection remains. His love can certainly run away with things, but he wouldn’t have him any other way. At the end of the day, he will ALWAYS love his Winwin.

❝You are positively NAUSEATING, Winwin. I don’t mind, but I don’t want Ian and Peter to be uncomfortable with the decision.❞ At that, he looks at Peter as if to say ‘yeah, I care about you. What of it?’

He has to AGREE with Gaster on one important thing. ❝Winwin is good with electronics. I don’t think anyone here could use the radar BETTER than he.❞

Admittedly, the PRIDEFUL aspects of his nature are tugging at the edges of his mind. Loghain was made for this — the stealth missions, the danger, the inevitable combat — and seemingly nothing less. ❝True, but what if the outskirts net less points? From what I’ve seen, risks net the BIGGEST rewards. Well, whatever we do, I can’t complain — just prefer we think it through before we commit.❞

Peter remained quiet as the other discussed the matter at hand, his mind already working to form a plan of action. While going to higher points was a good idea, there was also merit in going to other areas, as well. He cared little for the other teams, and if they were hostile Peter would quickly dispose of them.

One thought came to him as all eyes traveled to the kit in his hands. “This radar…what is its purpose for all of this?” He never dealt with a ‘radar’ before, nor did he know how to use it. Gaster, however, did, and Peter did not object to handing it over to him.

“If this radar is important, then perhaps we should look to this first and see what purpose it serves. That may help us to determine where to start.” He looked first to Ian and then to the others. For some reason he had a gut feeling that this tiny device was more important than he initially thought. “If Gaster is to hold onto the radar, then I request to hold onto the gun.”

Ian agreed with Loghain they needed some sort of plan before setting off into the great unknown. There was so much they didn’t know about the city. The horrible condition of his apartment and the surrounding area suggested that something major happened in the area before his arrival. Were the strange devices given to them pieces from the former calamity? 

“I don’t mind Gaster holding onto the radar.” Ian folded his arms across his chest shifting his position slightly. Should he voice his concerns? He knew his next words might offend his boyfriend, but he simply couldn’t keep his fears to himself. “Peter, I’m not sure you’re the best person to be holding onto the gun.” 

The bullet brave paused for a moment to gather his thoughts, his posture stiffening slightly. Ian knew he needed to provide a decent reason for his argument, but he didn’t want to risk having a long drawn out argument with his stubborn boyfriend. “Peter, you tend to be a bit trigger happy. I worry that you’ll waste all the ammunition shooting something of little importance.”

Between Loghain’s humming, the name of their team, and the fact that Gaster looks so proud of himself and was trying to be the leader, Peter’s pateince was wearing thin. For one thing, he was damn near certain the name was chosen as a slight against him. Furthermore, as smart as Gaster was, he was nowhere near qualified to lead. Peter, being a former prime minister and co ruler of a country was more fit for the role. There was also Ian who did give off a leadership quality who would have also been a better fit.

Speaking of Ian.

Peter turned his gaze towards his boyfriend, his eyes narrowed dangerously at the look on Ian’s face. He had a feeling that the other was going to tease him, but hopefully he would take Peter’s look seriously.

Deciding to leave it at that, Peter turned back to Loghain as the other spoke. “Higher locations would be wise, but should we also not put them in other areas?

Also proceeding with caution is simply common sense.”

The task assigned to him seemed simple enough. After joining a team, he would place beacons around the city with his teammates. Ian disliked working with others. Despite his sociable appearance, he was a bit of a loner. His best friend’s death still haunted him, but he must admit that he missed working with a team. It reminded him of the days he spent with Daigo, Amy, Souji, Nossan, and the rest of the dancing braves. What were his formal teammates doing now? 

Ian turned his attention towards his angry looking boyfriend. Peter was probably upset about their team name. The bullet brave resisted the urge to tease Peter about their team name as he scanned the area for any noticeable. “I agree, putting them in higher locations is a good idea, but I’m sure we’re not the only team with eyes on the skies.” Ian folded his arms across his chest, his gaze shifting back to his teammates. “Maybe we should try placing the beacons somewhere less crowded?”

“I hate sounding like a skeptical pessimist, but the other teams might not be friendly.”
