a long limbed spider dances across the keys of the piano in a haunting tune , it soars & dips in intervals that liven up the room all at once. various staff are heard but seen only in shadows that skitter across the walls. familiarity comes with the privilege of zestial's home --- not the grandeur of his office , foreboding in it's entirety , made to be imposing & all consuming with its walls of trophies & past conquests.
here it's oddly comfortable for the age , spider silks , blankets & pillows. every lavish finery one could hope for , but each is well loved - a time capsule of fabrics stitched together. memories line the walls , frames perfectly askew with paintings & now the newer black & white photos. vox is featured in several of them throughout the years. his presence is a welcome one & it's certainly no different now.
they sit side by side laughing on a plush couch , shadowy puppets replay whatever events they speak of by the fireplace's light. zestial's forgone his cloak for comfort , leaning into the arm slung around his shoulders as vox recalls one of the hell beasts they'd come across. he always seemed to have a knack for storytelling & zestial doesn't mind hearing it again , not when it's spoken in such an animated , enthusiastic way. it's contagious in a way zestial can greatly appreciate.
zestial leans forward to refill their drinks , topping them off before handing vox his own with a glowing neon grin. one glass lifted then ,

zestial's four eyes crinkle into crescents , head shaking all too fondly as laughter rumbles through his chest like rolling thunder. he raises his drink in turn , clinking the goblets together as he responds. " nay , to us , my friend , to us. " he mirrors to take a sip of his own drink.
while zestial thrives in hell , has committed every atrocity known to man ( & then created quite a few of his own just for fun ! ) sitting here like this , it doesn't quite feel like they've been damned for eternity. it feels like they're right where they should be for a moment.
