Rebag's lucky the startle response wasn't a right hook! The gravity of his tone regarding Strax's news is foreboding, a lot can happen in several hours. Hope Solus is alright, but there's reason to worry since he had an earlier exposure to the tendrils than Jela.

Missed these guys for sure - glad to see a new page and that Jela's on the mend!

The Golyan Tree hasn't seen this much excitement in 200 years!

Rendering and lighting are pulchritudinous to the max - and such a precisely executed tackle-hug on Jela's part is to be commended as neither fell off the branch or stumbled into the deadly vines. The dynamic here is choice and must be protected at all costs. The timing though, man... big emotional payoff AND YET the infiltration/extraction hasn't even started. The dread and anticipation are STAGGERING!

*intensity of flashback intensifies*

Schrodinger's statement for this page, really - "fine" as in these guys are inexorably ill-fated by circumstance from virtually every angle.

But also "fine" as in "ah yes, what a skillfully rendered sequence."

On a technical note, really love the panels overlapping to tie the composition together. The color palette of the flashback and present complement each other nicely.

Doubt anyone should think to build a summer home there, but the atmosphere created by the super-lethal-jellyfish-tree's... vines? tentacles? ... really is quite lovely.

Haven't drawn in weeks, haven't drawn Star Wars in forever. Life has been overwhelming and complicated in an unrelenting kind of way lately - to the extent that even when I would sit down to draw I couldn't conjure anything.

A simple Overkill, devoid-of-chill, pencil sketch to vent a bit.
