if there was one part about herself that song rihye was really proud of, it definitely had to be her immune system. it was nearly impossible to make her sick; everyone around her could have the flu due to the frigid weather of korean winters and still, she’d be the only one without coughs and runny nose. the extent of her sickness tended to be indigestion, when she would eat too fast at work and try to get extra paperwork done during her lunch break.
however, when she did get sick, she got sick bad; it was to the point of not being to walk properly without keeling, of not being able to breathe without feeling like she was going to suffocate, of having horrible headaches to the point of being dizzy. her blood pressure plummeted and her face became entirely too pale, losing all sense of life in her eyes as she struggled to stay on her feet. it was as if a storm had caught her up and spat her back out, leaving her in a horrible condition.
that was how she was feeling right now, that horrible condition; somehow, rihye had come across a terrible disease that made her stomach churn painfully and break out in cold sweat. it had put her in a craze of hurt all morning and afternoon, until finally, on her way back home, rihye lost herself to the illness.
before she could enter her hotel room after a long day of meeting people and tiring herself out, rihye slumped up against the door, her hand slipping weakly off of the handle as dizziness took over. her breaths came out in short pants, trying to breathe through the pain that was exploding in her stomach in insane bursts.
“fuck,” she swore, trying to fight the incoming unconsciousness. black spots appeared in front of her eyes. “fuck.”
a minute later, rihye slid completely down the door; having lost consciousness, she sat there on the floor.
—— keeping his hands in the pockets of his jacket, the male glances down the corridor. with another successful (il)legal case completed, he was assigned to go ‘thank’ rihye for her contributions. again she had saved them from a smart mouth that thought they could use the court against the dragons. it was unfortunate, really, that his gang also had law on their side.
humming under his breath, hui paces down the hallway. he counts the room numbers, keeping in mind the one he needs to attend. but everything comes crashing down when he notices a familiar figure on the floor before him. “rihye?” he questions as he makes his way towards her. in just seconds of observation, hui realizes she was unconscious. “fuck.” he crouches and reaches to gently shake her. but upon the contact, the male feels the radiating warmth and places the pieces together.
in no time, arms wrap around the female. carefully, hui cradles her into his arms and lifts her. but realizing just a second later that her room door was a barrier, the male slams against it with his shoulder. luckily it opened (either with his strength or the other had unlocked it) but ignoring the possible damage, the male moves quickly towards the bedroom. “rihye,” he calls out soft as his focus is devoted on taking her to bed, “respond if you can here me.” again hui is calmer than he should be, but the male knows there wasn’t a point in panicking and he carefully sets the smaller body on her bed. as brown orbs then glance around the room, the male finds a water bottle.
he reaches to grab it before looking back at the female. if she did not respond, hui would lift her up again and run to the hospital. hopefully she did.
