A friend of mine introduced Running Man to me a few years ago and I got instantly hooked on the show. It’s funny as hell and it made me happy. Like, genuinely happy. Been watching it ever since! That’s basically how I was introduced to kworld.
Being a fan of Running Man, I listened to LeeSSang when I first started getting into Kpop.
So that’s how it all started.
And then... A couple of friends sang Bigbang’s Blue and Bad Boy during karaoke and I loved it! My curiosity grew even bigger, I wanted to know more about Bigbang so I did some research and discovered other songs! Then there was me, being a total fangirl. As time passed by, I started exploring things on my own. From variety shows, dramas and songs. I can totally vibe with all that.
In general, you can say that I’m a fan of YG artiste. Bigbang, 2NE1, Epik High, iKON, Winner, Blackpink, AKMU, Lee Hi and the list goes on. Of course, I, too enjoy listening to other artiste from different agencies as well.
I’m a HUGE fan of Bigbang and iKON. I listened to all of their songs, watched their documentaries, reality shows, variety shows and even collected some of their official and unofficial merchandise. And I still do, until today. I went to iKON Continue Concert in 2018, definitely the highlight of the year! ✨
Having all these to look forward to – artistes, comebacks, variety shows, concerts and dramas are like having a constant stress reliever, a getaway. A way to escape reality. It sounds delusional but it really helps. It’s kind of funny because Kpop is supposed to be my stress reliever but the amount of merch I want to collect is stressing me out. 😂
Not everyone understands, not everyone wants to understand but that’s okay because not everyone likes what you like. I've had a few people being very judgmental and said some offensive things but... I find myself less and less interested in how other people perceive me and more and more content with how I perceive myself because honestly, that's all that matters.
It was all great until 2019 happened. A lot of kpop related shit happened this year. Disbandments, scandals, suicidal.... From 2NE1, to TOP, to Seungri, to Hanbin, to Sulli, Hara and so on... 😔
I never thought I’d be emotionally invested in this. I never thought being an iKONIC, VIP or generally a Kpop stan would be this exhausting. It’s starting to get unhealthy and I know it!!!
I’m still upset over Seungri and Hanbin’s case. I still can’t get over Hanbin’s withdrawal from iKON, probably because he’s my bias. iKON is having their well deserved comeback now and I’m super excited, happy and proud of them especially Donghyuk for writing and producing Flower!!! But not seeing Hanbin with them is just...heartbreaking. 💔
I wonder when all of these will sink in.
I just need to let this one out.
