'it undercuts sam and dean' okay sam and dean have quite genuinely ended the world for one another I promise sam having a girlfriend isn't going to change that 3. 'it undercuts sam and dean specifically by way of sam being hashtag disloyal and heteronormative' if that's true it's just true for the entire show. like if sam demonstrably having a desire to be in a romantic relationship is something that can single-handedly make you dissatisfied with their entire deal then ig you don't like their canonical entire deal because it is a pretty core and recurring part of his character. there is post-s6 an argument to be made for dean being aromantic but there literally isn't one for sam. I contend that this absolutely doesn't undercut his devotion and commitment being first and foremost to dean but if it does for you then RIP. like romance is just another kind of relationship, acting like it must by default wipe out everything else is so wild to me. 'sam can't actually have a kid because a parental relationship would negate what he has with dean' is on par with how silly that is to me. 4. 'it's rushed and they keep dropping it and then picking it back up and expecting us to care again out of nowhere' yeah that's the cw's supernatural babey.
