the wig is too light and i didn’t have time to finish dying it, but it’s gonna work anyway. i’m so sad that little kids will know who i am solely bc of teen tit.ans go!, but i know it’s from the original and that’s what matters.

     ❝ kate, right? ❞   the guidance counselor told her to try and socialise more, so that’s what raven was doing, talking to the girl she’d decided to sit across from in the cafeteria.  it was still nerve-wracking after a year, knowing that she could do things others couldn’t and that’s what had landed her here.  the purple-headed girl had heard things about the other; things that seemed impossible to everyone else, things that made her sound crazy.  raven believed it, though.  she believed every single fucking word.      ❝ i’m rachel, but most people either call me raven or rae.  we have religious education together. ❞

     ❝ hey, you did the homework for religious ed, right? ❞   normally raven kept quiet and didn’t speak to anyone, but the blonde next to her was one of the students in religious education with her, and she had an important question.       ❝ what did the paper MEAN by... ❞  she opened her backpack and shuffled through notebooks and folders before finding the one she needed and pulling out the aforementioned homework.      ❝ ‘describe a time in your life when you felt the lord most present’?  did they mean within YOURSELF or just in GENERAL? ❞

   ‘she’s a psycho!’, ‘did you hear what she did to her step-father?’, ‘don’t talk to her, she’s a witch.’  all things people have said about rachel, the purple haired fourteen-year-old roaming the halls of oak ridge in all black.    she grew up in a very religious home, with her father supposedly having died early on in her life.  rachel roth, known to most as raven or rae, never knew anything but constant religious imagery and crosses on the walls.  she wasn’t satan, she was just... SPECIAL.    the real panic started when she was five, when she set the cross in her room on fire without touching it.  that’s when the abuse from her step-father started.  he was convinced he could beat the evil out of her, force the devil to release his hold on her.  raven put up with this for eight years, until she was thirteen.  she snapped and ended up killing her step-father, throwing him across the room ( again, without touching him ) and punching him in the stomach until he coughed up blood.    the sentencing was short and simple, a permanent residence at oak ridge for the rest of her schooling.  raven was sent with the crosses that were on the walls in her room, her black wardrobe of clothing and a teddy bear she’d had since she was a toddler.  she’s not a murderer, she’s a special girl with abilities that just wanted to defend herself.
