Great Day!
One of the best days owning a business to date was last week. I had a child do a drop-in at our after-school class. Her dad ended up watching the class and was blown away after the class was complete. He said he was so excited to have his daughter do a class that could channel her energy and help her build relationships with her piers. He noticed the class involved a lot of listening and was thankful we were offering the class at his daughter's school! This made me sigh with relief...I believe in Zip Zap Zop Kids but it is so nice to know when others
do as well!
Mom and Dad instilled a strong work ethic in me from a young age. They wanted me to know how important it was to work hard for the things I wanted. After all, they did — and it paid off. They got the things they wanted: a small 4-bedroom home in a middle class neighborhood with only minor...
Sleeping Beauty
Friday night I had the opportunity to have dinner at a good friends house. My friend has two nieces, 4 and 6. I was utterly in awe of these amazing girls! They were so intelligent, kind, and open.
There was one specific moment I truly loved. We were all eating dinner and the 6-year-old wanted to plan a show with me. She wanted to perform in-front of everyone eating a play and I was to be involved in this play.
I said to her "Oh..I don't know if I can. I may get nervous" She replied: "you wont get nervous, ill be there" and since I kind of just wanted to chill and finish dinner I tried one more tactic and said ..."Oh, I see. But I would rather just watch you instead of be in it where I can't watch you." Her response was amazing. She said: "Oh! Well in this play you fall asleep for 100 years while I search for a magic leaf to wake you up! So you can open your eyes a tiny bit and watch me while your on stage. So don't worry." So I, of course, acted in her glorious and original play.
