All images would be displayed side by side.
1- i wanted the two square cropped images together with the portrait images at the end. my image representing my gran and the image representing myself, has a ‘busy’ frame. My image representing my mum and the image representing my dad has square shapes in frame. I wanted these images to be in the same row but separate at the same time to keep the flow going.
2- The first three images of this row had splashes of red. I put these together to bring out the colours. the image representing my siblings also involves splashes of colour that I thought would be great for tying the 2nd and 3rd row together. (splashes of colour and white background)
3- I wanted to have a simplistic end. with the backgrounds being white i thought these two images would go perfect together. I wanted to have a photoalbum near the end to sum up my images.

For this image i done a square crop to fit around the image in frame. This crop allowed the focus to be on the image, without taking to much attention away from my mothers flowers. There is still splashes of colour in the background which i liked, eliminating the distraction which was the background in the original image. i also brightened up the image to continue the bright colours throughout my other images.

Edit
I picked this images from my contact sheets as I liked the unorganised layout compared to my other layouts. I feel putting focus on the cinema tickets with the image out of focus, and out of frame, was nicley put as it still shows the objects tied with the person. For editing this image i brighten up the saturation so the colours were bright and fitting with the rest of my images.

For this image I began rotating the image. i brightened up the image so the card with the writing was the main focal point, without taking to much attention away from the rest of the frame. I also brightened up the saturation so the colours stood out more.

Additional research for plan change
I came across this on pinterest that I thought was interesting. It's a series of images on abanondent suitcases. I feel this would tie in with the course my project is going, as it involves personal images and objects.

shoot 11 - cinema (Jack)
Shoot 10 - Flowers (Mum)
My mum likes to spend her free time planting flowers in the garden. As soon as I saw the sun shining I took advantage of the light while I could.
I feel the physical photo i chosen to shoot wasn't the best as the quality of the image is noisy throwing off the full image.
Shoot 9 - Music (Dad)
I wanted to include my dads love for music. I wanted to start off with his music collection. My dad is a very talented guitarist and loves his heavy metal (massive Metallica fan) and my dad will always be known for that.
I like how these images turned out, I feel that I should of used a different photo beside the object. However, the image inplace shows my dads funny side, this shows that dispite his music taste, he is full of love.
Shoot 8 - Cards (Gran)
I decided to shoot more sentimental things that associates with my family, and include me with that family member.
I have kept a few cards over the years. this is ranging from me passing exams, birthday cards and holiday cards. I came across cards from my gran with the message of ‘ im so proud of you’. I wanted to shoot this as the focal point of the image as It meant so much to me when I came across it.
I like this image as I feel with the writing being the non busy part of the image, the focus is onto that.
Update
Following the guidance advice, I was advised to follow more of a sentimental path. After hearing suggestions I decided to shoot some cards I have kept over the years. This sparked my idea of capturing things i have that ties with my family alongside a photo of me and that family member.
Shoot 7 - living room
For this shoot I wanted to capture the living room from outdoors. The windows in my 1lov1ing room 'sticks out' the back of my house, onto the back garden. I feel this would be a nice shot at night with the loving room lights on, dimmed by the closed blinds. I feel this would be a good shot as theres plenty of memories in that room. For example, funding out that om going to be an aunt/my parents going to be grand parents/drinks with the family/etc.
Equipment
Tripod
Camera -long exposure
Sd card
Additional lights? - light up foreground slightly- flowers/brick wall?
Shoot 6 - birthday
My dads birthday is unfortunately happening during lockdown. Meaning we cant go out for a family meal with everyone in the family. However, we plan to have a little bbq if the weather's nice.
For this shoot I want to capture the birthday cards my dad recieved. I want to keep this simple yet show my dads birthday.
For this shoot I aim to use natural window light. Whenever there is an occasion in the household, cards get displayed on the table by the window in the living room. I feel this would be a nice little set up, the windows in the living room 'sticks out' the building so the table would be surrounded by natural light. I could maybe perhaps get the flower bushes as a form of background. However I feel shooting with the frame filled with the cards would be better.

images created so far
Thoughts so far
So far I am happy with the way my personal project is going. As Much as I wanted to do my original idea I am happy with what I am creating so far. I want to keep shoot more portraits of my family focusing more on the technical side of the images to get it to perfection. I feel the only thing lacking right now if my grasp of creating a story/telling the viewer about my family. Looking back on the images I have created so far, there are plenty of areas to improve on.
I am.to encourage my family to get creative with me whilst shooting, such as props poses etc.
As of recent days the weather has been looking promising so I will be shooting outside when I can. However balancing shooting with work is hard. However on my days off I have been dedicating it to working on my project. I hope the weather follows with that schedule.
From.the weekend starting the 24th of April 2020 I have 3 full days off work. According to the forecast the weather is meant to stay warm and bright. I am to take full advantage of this if the weather follows through. I want get more images of my family outdoors as well as the studio set up.
My next shoots will be involving my families interests. I want to focus more on telling a story than just simply making portraits.
