today marks seven years of incorrect-ninokuni! ...and today marks the closure of the blog.

i'm not entirely sure how to write this post. probably very sudden for everyone following, but it's not so sudden for me. i'm sorry about that! i did consider giving a warning, but i was busy... and wasn't sure if anyone would want to hear it LOL

mini FAQ:

why? it stopped being fun! genuinely, that's the only reason. anyone who knows me literally anywhere else knows it's not out of a loss of interest for ni no kuni. but last year it got to a point where updating the queue for this blog felt more like a chore than anything... so i'm stopping.

what about the secret santa? i'm still hoping to keep running the secret santa over on my personal ni no kuni blog! it's one of the highlights of my year - i won't give it up that easily!

has it really been seven years FUCK DUDE I GUESS. i was 14 when i made this blog and now i'm TWENTY-ONE. i'm getting my UNDERGRAD in the spring. it's genuinely ridiculous i don't know how i did it either

things level 5 is willing to do to save on file space:

speed up voice/sound effects so they're shorter and don't take up as much space (weird but okay)

delete very specifically the most interesting unused files (i discovered an unused party member recently whose model was entirely deleted.)

delete unused maps (there's very small remnants of dotdd towns in here including del mokahl and like it's understandable why the models aren't still in here… but it hurts)

things level 5 is NOT willing to do to save on file space:

render some cutscenes ingame

delete the four extra copies of the wizard's companion in every language

delete old versions of files

delete dotdd familiar models THAT THEY APPARENTLY MADE (EVERY SINGLE DOTDD FAMILIAR IS IN HERE)

delete DEMO FILES including ones from TOKYO GAME SHOW TWO THOUSAND AND NINE

btw my esther crime thoughts are that she doesn't like it at all but idolises oliver enough to let him get away with it. i think esther has a very black and white view of the world (super present in dotdd's del mokahl where she views swaine taking a break from searching for the person they're looking for as terrible behaviour, because she thinks they should be spending every second trying to help people) (and also. you know. how she treats swaine in general) and i think it's probably a result of her being brokenhearted for a while. so she has the very flawed view of crime = bad because it's crime and she will not examine this any further but she will make an exception for oliver because in her eyes he can do no wrong

how esther treats oliver vs how she treats swaine and even drippy says a lot about a really interesting facet of her character that i don't think i've spoken much about publicly but it is really fun to me
