the mighty nein battle plan is actually so good to be honest. they get shit on for being unable to follow plans but it's only short term plans they're bad at. battle plans? oh they have lived and learned. the clerics got attacked when they were wandering off alone in a jungle so they make it a point to always split the clerics. even while travelling, jester-eagle isn't allowed to carry caduceus. never put beau and yasha on the same target unless there's only one enemy to make full use of their sentinel and reactions. split caleb and fjord apart so one is within reach to make a counterspell. have beau go first so veth can have sneak attack. the two wizards casting haste on allies and the clerics casting bless to give support. fjord and veth moving in to tank on the frontlines when it gets rough. the fact that fjord learned cure wounds despite his limited spell list even though he already has healing hands as a paladin. that makes the nein having 4 (the clerics, yasha, fjord) members who can restore health. 3 people (clerics and caleb) who can revive the dead. when beau went unconscious against the specter in rumblecusp, fjord and yasha were able to heal her and bring her back up even before it became the two clerics' turns. they said fuck you we're not losing anyone ever again.

Could you do some Edeleth HCs for stuff they do only around eachother? (To clarify I mean stuff like Edelgard falling asleep on Byleth's shoulder. Also dont worry if you haven't done headcanons before, I'm sure they'll turn out great!)

oookay! so I took a couple of days to think on this one – not only have I never done headcanons before, but I’ve also not had a lot of time to play the game lately. ;w; but below is what I have so far. it’s not much, but I didn’t want to keep you waiting any longer!

first to follow on smoothly from your ask, Edelgard definitely falls asleep on Byleth’s shoulder. it’s always after Byleth has wrapped an arm around her, and sometimes Byleth will play with Edelgard’s hair while just admiring how adorable her sleeping emperor is.

Byleth takes every opportunity she can get to give Edelgard a forehead kiss. there’s the perfect height difference for it, and Byleth takes full advantage.

they always hold each other’s hands when they can. Edelgard started this at first, but eventually it just became something they both naturally do when in each other’s company. 

post-war, when Byleth is asleep or sometimes when they’re just lying down together, Edelgard will rest her head on Byleth’s chest and simply listen to her heartbeat. sometimes she’ll get so relaxed by it she’ll fall asleep like that, too. Byleth never complains.

Byleth bought Edelgard a board game as a gift once, and ever since Edelgard has only ever played that particular board game with Byleth. 

just as Edelgard calls Byleth “my teacher” (albeit including around others), when they’re only in each other’s company Byleth will teasingly call Edelgard “my emperor” in a way that makes Edelgard act like she doesn’t like it, but she really likes it.

after a particularly long day, Byleth will insist on taking Edelgard’s crown off for her and then brush her hair down. at first Edelgard protested (she was “more than capable of such a simple task”), but as time went on she stopped fighting Byleth’s insistence and actually started looking forward to it at the end of a stressful or tiresome day.

I keep thinking about the fact that

White diamond believed she was off color or imperfect because she was Blushing- showing emotions or feelings. The reason her controlees were completely white and had no facial expressions or lively movements was because she believed those were irregular and therefore Imperfect. She couldn’t comprehend that anything beyond what is exact and pristine is still perfect in its own way.

Blue and yellow were not perfect like her because to her, they had too many emotions or connections (yellow to blue, and blue to pink) that brought on their weakness.

She doesn’t even realize that it was possible for her to BE imperfect until Steven threw off her plans and actually was able to easily brush off her powers- she felt embarrassement and confusion, which was why she blushed. She recognized it as being off color, but Steven begins to show her that she needs to get out of her head, and feel, experience, see things for the way they are and the way they should make her feel.

Look at how proud yellow is of herself for making blue laugh- white is observing the interaction and actually begins to let herself feel happy and proud too. Maybe this happiness is a “perfection” as well.
