Our test apps got more than 30 responses, which totally blew us away! That means we’ll have more than enough artists and artworks to make a beautiful, long zine!!!

Here are some reminders for the zine: 

We do not require you to submit a ref sheet of your zora oc, just a sampling of artwork!

There will be 2 versions of the zine, one that’s SFW and the other with NSFW content. PLEASE DO NOT APPLY TO THE NSFW ZINE IF YOU ARE UNDER 18!

Zora designs based on any Legend of Zelda are more than welcome

Traditional art is accepted in addition to digital art!

The adult content version of the zine will be digital download only

All profits made from digital and/or physical copies of the zine will go to an ocean conservation charity (yet to be decided)

When the application will be open? 🙈

Mod U: Applications will open up mid January. Right now our goal is to get as much attention for the zine as possible and spread the word about it. We will be finalizing a schedule soon.

How experienced are the mods with organizing and producing zines?

Mod U: I’ve made several zines myself before, but never with other people contributing to it. I’ve also participated in several fan/charity zines

Mod P: I have participated in fan/charity zines but this is the first time I am organizing one :)

Zora OC Zine

Hello, Zora fans! We are happy to announce the production of the Zora OC Fanzine!!

What is this?

This is a non-profit booklet(and accessories) dedicated to the devoted fans of the well known Legend of Zelda race, the Zoras.

How does this zine work?

We will have an, as of right now, an undetermined amount of artists(and writers depending on the demand) that will make a fully illustrated piece that will have their own page in the zine. If materials are available, things like stickers, charms, and postcards may be available as well

The focus of the zine is the amazing Zora characters created by fans in the domain. The Zoras can be in any game so the sky is the limit! Canon characters may be included as well(Canon x OC ships are ok!! We want to be as inclusive as possible) but please make sure that the Zora is mostly the focus on the piece.

Where can we get updates in the future about this?

We have a twitter(@ZoraOcFanzine) that will also be active(especially considering how broken the Tumblr site is as of right now).

We have an email: [email protected] Contact us for any questions but also be aware more information will be released shortly as everything is set up :)

And finally, we will be making a discord server for anyone who wants to join. Later on, confirmed applicants will get special access to channels so we can talk about out illustrations and work together to help each other but still have it as a surprise for later on.

Where will the money for the zine go?

We hope to find a charity specializing in ocean life, mainly sharks, to help support and donate the remaining money after the cost of making the zines and materials :) A form will be made soon where people can recommend a charity to donate to.

A digital and physical version will be made, but only the physical will include the accessories.

We may also have an option for a more ADULT version of the zine, a two for one deal if you will. It all depends on if enough of the applicants are interested in participating in that as well.

As of now, we’re getting the word out to everyone, it would be much appreciated if we could get as many people to reblog and spread the message! A schedule and polls for the zine will be released soon in the future.
