Zylla the Kitsune (Pt. 2)
The next day, Zylla woke up in a cell, not sure exactly what happened. The last thing she remembered was the rogue with his mysterious ammo that nullified her powers. She didnât even remember being knocked out but here she was, in a cell located in God only knows where.
She gave a small sigh. âGreat... Now to try and get myself out of this mess.â
Just as she finished that statement, a new figure appeared from the opposite corner of her cell that she had not previously noticed. âYouâre a strange creature. What are you called? Like... Your race?â
She tilted her head curiously at the figure. They looked like they had been here a while. Tattered clothes, scuffled hair, stunk to high hell, and definitely had not eaten properly in weeks. âWell... I was a normal Druid, but there was an accident and part of my feline form didnât revert... I have heard people call me abomination, mutant, a victim of a new plague, and my favorite one because it wasnât offensive, was Kitsune.â
âA Kitsune? Interesting...â The figure sat down against the wall in the moonlight that filtered through the barred window of the cell. âNameâs Taliah. These thugs captured me because I killed one of their peons. Said they were going to execute me a week ago and it never happened. I guess they are just going to let me starve to death instead. More amusing to them I guess?â
Zylla tilted her head. She guessed not everyone had the same ammunition that the rogue who took her in had. âMy name is Zylla. And if they are trying to starve you to death, they shouldnât have put you in the same cell as me.â She looked around the cell for a weed, leaf, any kind of vegetation. After feeling around the dark she could feel a small plant growing, though she couldnât quite tell what it was.
She softly chanted a melody of an ancient Elven poem and the plant began to flourish in the moonlight, changing from what ever weed it was into a strawberry plant with enough fruit to feed both of them a small meal. When she finished, she picked off a few of the berries and handed them to Taliah. âGuess their nullifying shots donât last too long.â She gave a soft smile.
