I like to headcanon that every once in a while the inphernals that live in the crossroads have a Big potluck; it has the same vibe as a family get together.

I also like to imagine that sword has sometimes snuck in to the potluck without realising that the get together/potluck was only for people who live in the crossroads.

Zuka brings kebabs and beer with ice to the potluck (the beer is low quality and very cheap)

Rocket brings the fruit salad and tortilla chips with salsa (Zuka pays for everything that Rocket is bringing to the potluck)

sword realises that he accidentally ate food from the potluck without bringing something for everyone else to eat he runs to the store and gets a salad that has been sitting there for to long.

(And for fun I’m going to headcanon what other phighters would bring if they were to be at a potluck)

okay so I will start with Sword.

Regarding Sword: having been raised from early childhood in a state of isolation or seclusion until reaching a "mature" age—around 18 or 19—his life changed with the arrival of Rocket. Rocket was the first person he met and his only friend at the time; initially, Sword was hostile and aloof, but over time he opened up, leading to a genuine friendship. What is my point here? Well, here is my interpretation: Adjustment Disorder (F43.0). When Sword began trying to integrate into society, the cultural and social shock was massive. The DSM-5 classifies this as an adjustment disorder involving emotional or behavioral symptoms (as shown in a DITF panel where Sword reflects on the situation involving Scythe, Medkit, and their appearances). This reaction stems from an identifiable stressor: the abrupt transition from long-term isolation to independent living. The brain retains plasticity up to a certain age, meaning that with specialized therapy, a patient can learn to decode common sense and protect themselves; however, in this case, such therapy isn't an option because there are no qualified professionals—or rather, no one dedicated to mental health care for others or even for themselves. Finally, regarding Criterion 2 for Adjustment Disorder: it cites exposure to death, serious injury, or sexual violence—whether actual or threatened—in one or more instances. As we know, Windforce inflicted trauma on the "Trauma Club" (founded by Boombox); this manifests as a fear of heights that triggers panic attacks—something that affects both Boombox and Skateboard. In my opinion, the experience was somewhat more traumatic for Sword due to the fight between Windforce and Venomshank—specifically, Venomshank’s descent into a feral state and Windforce’s subsequent attack that inflicted his injuries. Witnessing these events put Sword on high alert. The trauma was compounded by the fact that it involved a family member (Venomshank). Such trauma often stems from a threat of death—or the actual death—of a significant person in one's life, resulting from either violence or an accident; in Sword's case, the trauma was accidental, triggered by seeing and/or overhearing the exchange between Windforce and Venomshank.

ToM (Theory of Mind) – Sword has an extroverted and naive personality; being extroverted, he naturally seeks social contact. However, lacking a "real-world experience archive," he also lacks common or basic psychological defense mechanisms. Theory of Mind is the cognitive ability to attribute thoughts, intentions, and motives to others. Because this ability is not 100% innate—it is honed through childhood interaction with peers—his isolation has had an impact. Having interacted only with the protective Venomshank, Sword’s brain assumes all adults operate under the same rules of care. Consequently, he cannot process malice, sarcasm, manipulation, or danger, as he interprets them literally, innocently, or in an exaggerated way. This makes it difficult for him to grasp implicit messages (such as sarcasm, white lies, or figurative language). What is my point here? Consider the moment Sword trusts Grappling Hook over Darkheart’s bad feeling; the fact that Grappling Hook mentions knowing Medkit causes Sword to prioritize the case. This part was completely obvious and predictable—at least to me—especially the panel where Grappling Hook discusses bringing Sword in, revealing that he is merely exploiting Sword’s naivety and trust for their own good.

I have many headcanons about phighting characters but i don’t really know how to word them so instead: sports! here are sports i think some of the characters would enjoy

Rocket: he can get down with esports, but his heart lies in professional tag. he especially loves how complex and intricate the arena can be. I also think he might like to ski as well!

Scythe: volleyball! she plays it herself with a team when she has time, and id say she’s very good at it too! She also likes watching soccer as well

Zuka: loves watching baseball, especially in person. if a game comes on that he’s interested in, you bet that he’s only coming out of the tv room when either the game is done or the canister of peanuts hes been munching on are almost empty.

Medkit: has a passive interest in soccer, but otherwise, sports don’t really interest him that much. he does like swimming, though. I feel like he frequents the pool quite often.

Shuriken: something about him just strikes me as a water polo guy. I have no idea where this is coming from but it just feels right to me. He also likes wrestling too I bet

Coil: he’s definitely an avid climber/parkour guy. Is a regular at his nearest climbing gym. I just know he’s always trying to find an optimal boulder route.

Boombox: avid jogger and runner, but especially likes surfing. Also weightlifts, but mainly to work out, and doesn’t particularly care to watch it. I also think he’s a bit of a surfer/wakeboarder as well during the summer

Vinestaff: i think she loves watching acrobatics and gymnastics. I feel like as a newspawn she took gymnastics classes and that interest carried over into adulthood

Windforce: loves anything involving air, specifically skydiving. not just because she’s a wind deity, but also because she likes the aesthetics. Also, the wiki (as of 1/2/26, there’s a rewrite planned) says that she’d be “absolutely cracked at video games,” so she might also be interested in esports aswell.

Banhammer: thinks stuff like stacking, packing bags, cutting foods in half, and hammering nails into wood are VERY funny, and really enjoys watching them and adding his own commentary, like he was streaming or something.
