We have a Fashion corner with a give & Take away and a plastic flip flop workshops, a Comic Factory for Prints, drawings, silkscreen and foto, the kinderkunstfabriek for children to create mini sculptures made of recycled material!

An Eno-esque sound collage of shimmering noise through which treated guitar and field recordings were delicately placed. It felt like a soundtrack to human evolution. Howart

Anneke Nieuwdorp creates music, art, design, images, drawings, soundscapes, and combines them all in her project HOWART. Experimental yet moving, ambient soundscapes with poppy melodies, and highly recommendable for fans of psychedelica. Currently HOWART (live and on record supplemented with drummer Dave Mollen and guitar player Stefan Breuer) is finishing the recordings for their debut LP. ◯ ◯ isn't just the letter. ◯ is the circle symbol and at the same time the name of this six piece band from the border region (Belgium/Netherlands/Germany) around Aachen (Germany). In summer 2010 we got together with the aim to create spheric musical landscapes. The music wants to take the audience on a turbulent journey somewhere between ambient and postrock and sometimes you can guess their musical roots found in punk/hardcore. Saturday, 23rd August. Brainstorming avond

Friday 11th of July we organize a brainstorming evening. You are all invited to join the discussion, bring your ideas to help us create the whole structure of the festival. We have started to invite artists and non-artists from all over the world to be part of this experience and are still looking for contributions. So if you want to be part of Zuiderfestival 2014 come to "Studio Complex" this Friday at 20.00 for an evening of food, talk and inspiration. Bring your ideas and visions!

Zuider festival 2014 komt eraan! Dit jaar editie zal draaien onder het thema samenwerking. Wij geloven dat de combinatie van onze ideeën en kennis de beste manier is om krachtige uitspraken en originele projecten te creëren. 

We organiseren een "Collaboratorium" week waar iedereen wordt uitgenodigd om zijn ideeën, ervaring en kracht in te brengen om samen te werken en de opbouw van de verschillende ruimtes te realiseren. Van de 15-08 tot de 22-08 zullen studio Complex en Hangarrrrrr hun deuren openen voor een laboratorium van samenwerkingen. All onze verschillende ruimtes, van ons kleine bos tot het toekomstige hoofdpodium wachten op jullie creativiteit.

Zuider festival 2014 is coming! This year edition will run under the theme of collaboration. We believe that combining our ideas and knowledge is the best way to create strong statements and original projects.

Zaterdag tot Zondag...

Zaterdag was een longe dag op Zuider festival! Veel bezoekers, veel kunstenaars en we hopen veel vluchten!

Open again at 10.00 for the early birds, the festival took off in the beginning of the afternoon, with the workshops. Making your own money or fire stick, racing with your best paper plane, Balaclava garden made and many more activities covered the afternoon. 

Before the first bands in the Castle a french hour at kaka sjanel square! Wine & Cheese with the Frenchies. A glass of wine for a mustache... and oh surprise Dutch and Germans went back to their beer, while the proud French finished their bottles!

Saturday was also a busy day for our wedding Master! The Vlucht kerk opened its door to many couples from the most romantics to the craziest! A proposal on stage, a musician married to her instrument, an artichoke with a potato, a few children (maybe underage), a young man to his T-shirt... 

We felt a little piece of Wonderland in the festival this day... a magician straight out of Alice's world tricked a lot of us with cards and balloons. Jerry's special read in your cakes creation bright and amazing futures, Jean de l'herbe le foie gras performed his theater piece. And from the color of the water we can tell a lot of bath were enjoyed until late in the night when the bands took over to end up in a beauti-full night of dance and evasion!

The night went on inside for many bands and open DJ booth. And believe it or not but Jan, Reinier and Elise ended up dancing in the early morning, finally enjoying after all the hard work!

Thank you all for your support, your smiles and good spirit! It was a beautiful and intense weekend for all of us! A lot of ideas for the next edition...

Vrijdag op het Zuider festival...

Gisteren was een mooie dag, met veel workshops, spannende performances en super gezellige bands. 

With a beautiful sun the festival opened his doors offering an escape to our colorful world! Yesterday visitors could make their own pealing knifes, before enjoying a naked vegetable photo workshop with Cateringa en kompanen. In the wood the vliegende podium took off with Hanan and Aïcha from the Chickewally's fanfare! Also in the wood a lot of weddings. Aike celebrate the love of couple, animals, children and even a musical saw and her performer!

Mia's 16 mm colorization workshop will go on today, don't hesitate to join to give colors to Charly Chaplin... Our team of bike nerds was busy the whole afternoon creating extravagant machines. It will going on today and at dusk with your customized bike join the zombie ride to the city... 

The Opening speech was introduced by an amazing hoola hoop ride from Bibi Spaans in the Hauto from Jim Veassen and an inspiring speech from Mette Sterre. 

And the music part of the festival started with the beautiful voice of Johanneke ter Stege followed by the flying words of Arnoud Richter, The Subhuman, Frag nicht nach Sonnenschein. The Castle stage welcomed "Briefcase and bananas" a new performance from Mette Sterre and Vreemd Wild, before closing to leave place to the concert of the Truck stage.The Fire Harvest, Bloody hands, The Kettle, Lada... a lot of vibration in Hangarrrrrr'den.

Later after a touching performance from Bibi Spaans in her Magix box, the bands played longer inside in The Loch for a long and moving night!

Today is International Story day! To celebrate it don't hesitate to tell your story in the installation of Bas Leegstra in the Hangarrrrrr'den... Don't worry it will stay anonymous.

We are open today again with a full program of workshop, performances, theater, and bands. Come along the day will be busy and the sun is with us again! See you soon in Zuider festival!
