//ooc; hey folks. I'm still alive.
Just to let you know, chances of me RPing on this blog as Zuko or Azula are very slim. To put it simply, I got sick and tired of the ATLA fandom about a month ago and quit it. Nothing against any of you wonderful humans, but the toxicity of the fandom got to me too much.
If I do use this blog at some point, I will probably change it around into an RP blog for an anime character. No idea which one yet.

Important announcement!
//ooc; I'm moving this month! I've been having trouble finding time or energy to RP recently as a result of all the preparations I've been making, so I've decided to put this blog on a semi hiatus.Â
What does this mean? Well, it means I won't be around as often, and I probably won't do replies or start threads unless I have a few spare hours (which seems rather unlikely). For now, please send me a note if I have a thread with you and haven't replied recently; my blog isn't telling me who's posted what.
Also, I've decided that Zuko's birthday will be on July 16. I'll be around that day, so he'll definitely be having himself a birthday party!
"What, these ones?"
"..."
"Yes. Those ones."
"Neat is a good word for it." She laughed a bit before looking over at him, "It's why I started writing, cause of the stuff with my mom. It was the only way I could deal with the stuff she told me." Rei stuffed the small book into her pocket. "It may actually be a cop out, that I run from my stuff instead of dealing with it. But it helps so who cares, right" Her mouth twisted as she looked at Zuko, "Enough about me though. You need to tell me something interesting about you."
"The stuff she told you...?" Zuko didn't understand, but he quickly realized that asking about Rei's past might be more painful than she was willing to share. "...never mind. Forget I asked."
"Better that than spending years in denial of the fact that your father has never cared about you." He shrugged and rolled his shoulders back. "About me... hmm, well, I used to like fairy tales. Back when I was a kid."Â
"You have to give him the eyes, you idiot."
Testing Waters || zukoandhissister & sugar-queen-katara
Katara followed—she would have followed without the leash, without the gentle but persistent grip on her hand. If anything, she might have led him over to that arrangement of cushions, had he not done so first. But if he wanted to be the one to take the initiative, she could live with that. Though she valued her control more than the breath in her lungs, she was willing to surrender it, in small doses, to Zuko.Â
She trusted him.
"Anything," she repeated, with the silent quantifier of almost anything. But Zuko wouldn’t push her past her boundaries, at least she didn’t think he would.Â
Yes, she trusted him.Â
She threaded her fingers through his and spread herself across those cushions, coaxing him down with her so his body pressed against hers in a long line of heat. She wound a leg around his hip, eyes careful on his. Her other hand cupped the bare slope of his shoulder, wrapped around to his side, slicked along the ridges in his belly.Â
"You’re beautiful," she blurted, because it was true. Her fingers dug into his abdomen, her mouth lipped its way along the thick skin of his scar. “You are," she rasped. “And don’t you dare you disagree with me."
Zuko smiled at her single word statement. Even though he didn't exactly have a clear idea of what he wanted to do (and he certainly wasn't planning on anything outlandish), he could appreciate how much faith she'd placed in him. He would not risk losing that.
He allowed his vertebrae to match the curvature of the pillows as he leaned on his side, facing Katara. He took the moment to admire her in the dying sunlight, and as her hand explored the side of his body, he set down the leash - at this point, it was only getting in the way - and used his free hand to gently grasp the back of her neck and pull her in for another, more tender kiss.
He chuckled slightly at her statement. "If you say so," he murmured back, not wanting to tempt her annoyance - even if he'd never be able to believe it himself. "But you're more beautiful." There - perfect.
Zuko couldn't help but smile gently, playing with the hem of her sleeve as if this were nothing more than a picnic on a lazy afternoon.
Despite that, he wanted her - he did. He'd just never been very good at showing it, except to hold her gaze and silently ask what she wanted him to do next. Did she want him to take her dress off, or would she do that herself? Or maybe she wanted to leave it on...? And he could only guess about what would happen after that.
//ooc; okay, I was gonna do some things, but I am entirely too tipsy for writing more things right now. So after I finish the two replies I'm working on, I'll head out for the night.
("Dying in your arms" meme, for Azula) Ty Lee stared at the woman with wide eyes, her hands desperately trying to staunch the blood. "A-Azula!" She cried out, desperate to save her old friend. "Wh-what happened?! Please, what happened to you?!" Her eyes began to water and she blinked almost angrily to bat them away. Her palm pressed against the wound, wondering if there was anything she could really do. "Azula, st-stay with me. You'll be just fine, okay?"
The wound had sat for too long. A long, deep cut on an exposed leg wouldn't have been fatal, except for the fact that it rendered the prisoner unable to walk - and the guards didn't come when she screamed for help anymore. There was so much blood, and the disgraced princess vaguely knew she didn't have long.
"...Ty... Lee..." she breathed out, face paler than ever. "Look at me... don't you... dare look away." If this was how she had to go, then so be it. She would make the most of it.
"What rule I have no idea what you're talking about." *plays with hair*
"Good. That's good." *absentmindedly flicks at hair*
*slides into lap*
"What was that rule you made up? The one about no sex?"
If I were about to die in your arms, what would you tell me?
She had no right to cling to him like this, no right to demand comfort from him when she was the one doing the harm here. Still, she wrapped her arms around his neck, soaked up the heat of him. She burrowed close until she swore they were sharing the same heartbeat.Â
All she did was hurt him—that was how it had been from the start. She’d hurt him with her refusal to forgive. She’d hurt him with each humiliation she’d put him through, all for the sake of her own petty pride. And now, she was hurting him by loving him—but not enough, not enough to choose him. Maybe, if it weren’t for her pregnancy…
But now wasn’t the time to think of what-ifs, was it?
“I don’t know…why him,” she mumbled, digging her nose against his collarbone, lips skimming over his skin. “I just…he’s the father of my child. And he—he needs me.” And she loved him, but there would be no use in explaining why, because she barely fathomed it. If she didn’t understand, how could she explain it to someone else?
“I’ll always be sorry,” she husked, and it was true. “And I’ll always love you, Zuko. I love you so much.”
Zuko tried not to think too hard about the truth he knew now for certain. It hurt too much, and why bother when he was so close, so close to her right now?
It wasn't that they had everything together. It wasn't that they were perfect. It was that, even though they'd been doomed from the start, she'd always been right there by his side. Every injury he had borne on her behalf, he bore with pride; it simply wasn't right for him to dwell on things that weren't as he'd wanted them.
Not when he had this.
"...I understand," he finally said. He couldn't explain it, nor did he attempt to try. Frankly, he didn't understand how Katara could be attracted to him or the doppelganger, but he supposed that her overwhelming drive to care for everyone would impact the situation somewhat.Â
He brushed a piece of hair out of her face as he looked down at her. "Don't be sorry," he said softly. "You have to be true to yourself, no matter what."
Zuko never gave up without a fight, but this wasn't giving up, and there was no fight to be had.Â
"I use what I do have to make pottery. Surprisingly handy skill and I'm pretty good at it." She looked up from her book, a frown on her face at his confession. "I'm sorry about that. I know you may not believe me but... w-well my mom hated me as a kid so I know how it feels."
"Pottery? That's... neat." Zuko was stunned. Growing up, he'd never realized that firebending - or any bending discipline, for that matter - could be used for something besides combat. He wondered vaguely if his own abilities had more rudimentary uses (besides lighting campfires, of course).
"No, I believe you. I'm sorry to hear that."Â
Departure || zukoandhissister & isabelledaughterofhades
The guard pursed her lips, not wanting to hear that it was her turn to see if the princess needed anything. The brunette looked at the other guards starting to think they were all truly cowards for nominating Isabelle to check on Azula. Isabelle was dressed in her guard attire and started walking down the halls, her shoes tapping a little against the sheeted metal. She continued down the hall and came to a stop in front of the princess’s door. Taking a quiet, deep breath, she lightly knocked.
"Princess do you need anything?" She asked, not sure she would like to know the answer to her question.
Azula turned away from the door and crisply replied, "Yes, actually. Enter."Â Upon seeing who the guard who had disturbed her thoughts was, Azula grimaced, before smiling slyly. Her idea could be either extremely foolish... or extremely useful. And she had never been one to avoid taking risks.
"Yes... you can help me. I've finally thought of a use for you." Azula paced, trying to figure out how best to phrase this. "You will accompany me to retrieve some other reliable acquaintances of ours. You remember Ty Lee and Mai? They will join us in our mission to capture Zuko and my Uncle."
Azula didn't know for certain how to go about this. She didn't trust Isabelle - not by a long shot - but she did need her help. She composed herself to look intense, but less... threatening. Perhaps that would help/
"Get your shit together, Arlert!"
"Do not let them escape. We must defend the Wall Rose!"
