Late Night Breakdown - a letter to my little
I hope you don't spend endless nights lying awake wondering why you are not good enough.
I hope you don't have to sit in a room full of everyone you have loved your entire life, to just not feel welcomed by any of them.
I hope you know that you are the most beautiful soul I have known.
I hope you know that no matter what, I will always love you and be there for you.
I hope you never have to question if your own family even cares about you.
I hope you stay the beautiful soul you are, and not let what they did to me happen to you.
I hope you don't sit there in the shower late at night, holding your breath while tears run down your face to keep quiet because you don't want anyone to see you break.
I hope they let you feel those feelings and help you through it rather than ask, "what's wrong with you?" and then act like it's your fault for having feelings.
I know I'm supposed to be the role model, but it's hard when you can feel everyone's energy and physically see how no one even says hi.
I just hope and pray that you will never understand what this has done to me.

Not everyone is textbook; not everyone is the same. Some people wear the biggest smiles while fighting their strongest demons. Others will try to find answers at the bottom of a bottle.
Please make sure to check on your loved ones. Especially the ones who appear the happiest.

Topic: Anxiety
1.) Why do people get anxiety?
Now this may seem like a dumb question. People get anxiety for many different reasons. But here are a few common ways people develop anxiety:
- Trauma
- Stress due to illness
- Stress build up
- Personality
- Other mental disorders
- Genetics
- Drugs/alcohol
- Depression
Anxiety can also have physical effects to the body as well:
- Substance misuse
- Insomnia
- Digestive problems
- Headaches & chronic pain
- Social isolation
- Problems functioning at school or work
- Poor quality of life
- Suicide
- Fatigue
- Tense muscles
- Panic attacks
And many, many more…
2.) How does anxiety make you feel?
Anxiety can make you feel all types of ways and many different emotions. Most commonly we can feel overwhelmed, anxious (obviously), depressed, and irritable.
3.) How can you tell if someone has anxiety?
There’s a lot of answers to this question. So I’ll just give some examples:
- We need all the details - ASAP.
- For people who are pretty go-with-the-flow this may be a little confusing. But for those who suffer with anxiety, you know EXACTLY what I mean. Say you invite a friend to a party and they ask where, when, who’s all going to be there, how long do you plan on staying. That’s because they’re narrowing down their “what if’s” they have going on in their head. Their planning multiple safe routes for almost every scenario. Which leads to my next point…
- Decisions
- My people with anxiety have MANY decisions to make. This is usually caused by overthinking. It’s not always a bad thing though. As my example above points out, they are making multiple safe routes.
- Avoids new people, places & situations
- We tend to avoid the unknown like the plague. Sometimes just thinking about it give us anxiety 😥 Which is another reason as to why we ask so many questions before making a decision.
4.) How do you help anxiety?
There are MANY ways to help anxiety! Honestly, Pinterest is my go to when looking for answers to questions like this. But here are the most common ways that I know of:
- Get help early
- Stay active
- Avoid alcohol/drugs
- Eat healthy
- Consume probiotics & fermented foods
- Limit caffeine
- Quit smoking
- Exercise
- Meditation
- Yoga
Final Thought
Remember to check in on your friends. And the best way to help someone who is dealing with anxiety if there is anything you CAN do to help. People have their preferences, so the best thing to do is ask
