The fact that you’re struggling doesn’t make you a burden. It doesn’t make you unloveable or undesirable or undeserving of care. It doesn’t make you too much or too sensitive or too needy. It makes you human. Everyone struggles. Everyone has a difficult time coping, and at times, we all fall apart. During these times, we aren’t always easy to be around — and that’s okay. No one is easy to be around one hundred percent of the time. Yes, you may sometimes be unpleasant or difficult. And yes, you may sometimes do or say things that make the people around you feel helpless or sad. But those things aren’t all of who you are and they certainly don’t discount your worth as a human being. The truth is that you can be struggling and still be loved. You can be difficult and still be cared for. You can be less than perfect, and still be deserving of compassion and kindness.

PMS.
I never thought I was too affected by PMS symptoms, like my cramps aren't as bad as others I've heard, I normally don't get too emotional and sometimes a few thing irritate me. however when you're already so down and worn out from life, man PMS just really heightens everything to a whole new level. I don't think I've cried so much, felt so emotional or gotten so easily irritated by things as much as have this cycle. a few more days until it's over and let's hope some of that goes away because i can't handle these moods anymore D:
first to thirty first.
the final uni break because i graduate after this year.
first month; january. starting the year with catch up and hang outs and the beginning of the 21st for us five girls :)
wishing this month lasted longer, why was it only thirty-one days. holidays seem to fly by super past without stopping.
starting back with kids club, dodgeball, beginning of badminton phase etc.
in order; boardgames at luke's colleague's place, d-team catch up, catch up with rosie, movie night with boyfriend, girls' sleepover, australia day picnic and gladys' 21st.
the heat.
finished placements yay.
got messages and gifts yay.
thought i only needed to wait 15mins for bus :\
bus was then another 20 mins late :(
it was 30 degrees celcius :(
5 mins later the bus broke down :(
the next bus did not come on time and had to wait another 20 mins :(
ended up getting home one and a half hours later when the school is only 2.7km away ...
i feel old and i'm twenty.
so the invitations are slowly accumulating.
many people turning 21st. many people getting married.
meanwhile, i have to organise my time for next year feb-march already and it's only the start of september. my friend and i were talking and having mini freak outs about how we're growing up so quickly.
firstly everyone is turning 21, then soon we will just be attending weddings and finally everyone will be having children. it's insane :P
we're only twenty years old and in less than 10 years, there will be a lot of changes :)
it's scary but definitely something to look forward to.
Not the same ...
I'm not the same anymore. Recently, I've been thinking about how much has changed. Even my friends and my boyfriend have noticed how much I've changed over the past few years.
It could be the difference after graduating high school. The difference of following God. The difference of maturing but there is a lot that has changed and I'm not longer the same person I was before. I acknowledge I was quite the annoying person when I was younger, making a big deal over things that I shouldn't. I may have lost friends because of that or they've stopped talking to me because they didn't like who I was. It's a pity that they can't see how much I've changed.
However, now I've made new friends and surrounded myself with people who can support me. People who now know me for who I've become and people who I'm sure I'll be friends for years to come.
People come and go. People grow and mature. True friends stay with you no matter what and help with the change.
2013.
travelled to thailand, singapore, bali, hong kong, macau and malaysia. celebrated my dad's 60th. my sister came back to visit. quit my job. welcomed a new baby into our extended family. attended a wedding. said goodbye to a work friend.went on a camp. spent time studying and hanging out with primary, high school and church friends.
from looking after kids to acting like one.
being a sunday school teacher really makes me happy even though i end up extremely tired and sometimes frustrated. it's the little things that children say that cheer you up.
today, we had ten children at sunday school which was surprising as we normally have three-four children. it was extremely encouraging as we can see it slowly growing bigger. we told them stories about sin and temptation and even played a few games about it and then we did a small father's day craft activity for the children to give to their dads. the children loved playing around, especially enjoyed climbing on my back or sitting on me for some reason. i even got told by one of the new children that he liked me and even followed me around in our church after sunday school had finished and kept asking me 'what are you doing? where are you going?', the innocence of children haha. but it was still great that the new children loved hanging around us since they were shy initially but grew to like us in just one hour.
then we had sunday funday with our linc bible study group members. our activity was initially going to be jogging (thus why most of us were wearing runners) however we thought it may rain so instead we grabbed a quick lunch and talked and then walked to the nearest playground and played around and even climbing on top of the monkey bars as many of us did when we were in primary school.
it was a fun day although tiring but now i have to do my maths assignment for uni which is slowly becoming a bigger pain in my butt :(
sister's birthday and cousin's daughters' one month celebration. family <3
assignments D:
for the first time ever, i'm actually scared i won't be able to submit an assignment on time at university and it's worth 40% and i can't even just wing it because i need to go do observations at a school and i'm about to die because i've never failed something important before.
and so this basically describes how i'm feeling on the inside ....
Unemployed.
Finally quitting my job and I'm going to focus on university for the rest of the year. I've been working for the past year, from one job to the next and they haven't been the absolute best places to work either. I've decided to not work in any hospitality places at least not whilst university is running, as it is quite draining.
I've saved up my money over the past year of working so I'm not going to go broke for a while, but I shall continue to still be cautious as to where my money goes as I know one day I'll have to save up for something expensive eventually.
I get to know spend more time with the boyfriend, with family, focus on the two children's ministries I belong to at my church, uni work and getting into the routine of doing daily quiet time.
I still have to work for another two weeks whilst they find a replacement but I can't wait until I have one less thing to stress and worry about and I can focus on my university assignments as they are starting to appear and they are worth a lot since I have no exams.
Fun times ahead, but just two more months before a month of holidays (:
Also, my sister came down from London recently to surprise my dad as we celebrated his belated sixtieth birthday party. It was really good to have my sister home for the very short ten days she was here but I got to spend lots of time with her and I'll always be missing her :(
my sister's short trip back to melbourne for my dad's sixtieth birthday (:
