while I semi-agree with twitter-folks' sentiment that usually it's considered "hetslop", but lore-wise, Aang and Azula seem like the two ingredients for a perfect enemies-to-friends/lovers trope

just imagine grown-up Aang, doing his thing, right? saving a village or two from some bandits, rescuing fishermen from a capsized boat out at sea during a storm, being hard-at-work as a diplomat for all the Tribes and Nations and Kingdoms of the world

and at the same time, he is like, I dunno, turning 26-27 now, he's done so much for the well-being of the world, and everything is kind of stable

but he still feels like something is missing, something is lacking

one night, he dreams of, I dunno, Roku's maybe, or Ursa's spirit, being vague but basically urging him to rescue this certain someone from certain peril, or complete insanity

obviously, they don't have to be lovers, but I think it's impossible for Aang to not do his monk-magic on Azula and not have them become friends or allies
