With the growing number of members (and applications) we’ve decided to pick specific days of the week where new members will be posted. These days are : Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
It’s currently exam season for many, we will be a bit softer with our activity rules for about a month. A major clean-out will come during the upcoming week (before we accept any new members) so that the masterlist is up to date and entirely inactive are removed.
We are still looking for more people who want to ’spy’ / ic-report on our members and send in tips to the 0820buzz blog. Unfortunately it’s not something we can do on our own as we’re running of half admin force, and we don’t want to drop the idea of a buzzblog. In our previous poll a majority of the members voted for it to be run by an admin, and as we cannot do that we ask for those who are interested in becoming possible co-moderators of the 0820buzz blog to contact us, or even those who simply want to send in tips.
Events (from us) are also on hold until exam season is over, we got mixed reviews about the spring event but ask for our members to understand that it’s hard for us to do more than bring the opportunity for you all to write something. We can give you a time and place, however we do not wish to force anyone to participate if they don’t feel like it; take the initiative if you want to plot or write with someone, we are all here for the same reason, of writing our muses and finding writing partners.
A twitter listing is (still) under discussion, we’ve gotten several requests from members who want literate twitter interactions and search for likeminded. Or would you prefer a twitter masterlist on a page here so you can go through and follow the other twitter-active members that way? Feel free to share your opinions below. Do note that we will still expect the same activity on tumblr dashboard.
Another question received is whether we accept welcomes between members to take part through tumblr IM rather than inbox. Personally we see no problem with this, many enjoy writing through tumblr IM and what counts is that our members interact with each other; not how you choose to do it.
We’ve now have a sister roleplay; @k-nnect. A few joint events, game nights or similar may come to occur in the future, this as we both will have real-time based events. More information will be shared when the time comes, but it will (hopefully) mean that there will be more things going on.
On another note: We at 0820 want to thank all of our former, current and future members for making this collective into what it is today. Without you guys we would never have gotten this far, and we hope to grow together with you and your muses. Thank you for making this possible and believing in us. We hope everyone meets people to write with through us, make a friend or two, and see their muses bloom. Again, thank you.
