Still a Prince *OPEN RP*

Yoru was a prince, that word felt like a stab to the heart….was…he no longer held that title, and it made his heart break in two. His family had been dethroned, and he was banished. He had fought back, and something went entirely wrong. He couldn't figure out where he was. It was a strange place full of giants, not the giants he was used to, but giants with weird clothing, and the buildings looked odd, and the smells everywhere reeked of chemicals. He could hardly fly; he was weak, his wings struggled to lift him, and he had no clothes as they disintegrated in the journey between realms. His body had scrapes and bruises from the rough landing, and he was worried he'd starve or freeze to death, but luckily, he would either be killed by a giant footstep or an animal ripping him limb from limb, and his pain would end soon. Delirious from hunger, he finally managed to fly and quickly headed in the direction that gave off the best smells he had smelled the entire time he was in this realm, which was warm and meaty and made his mouth water, but he couldn't find the source, and this enraged him. He sighed heavily and found a place to sit on the windowsill of a random building. He felt warmth from the window, and it was enough to keep him from freezing to death. He eventually leaned against the side and closed his eyes. "May death be kinder than this realm could ever be..." he mumbled to himself.

“He’s a little intimidating at first since he’s bigger than me, but once I actually talked to him, he was really nice. He even helped me reach things I couldn’t on my own.” He said it with a small, shy laugh before motioning toward the pan on the turned-off stove. “So I made breakfast. I made enough eggs so you can have some too. They should still be warm.” He smiled as he went back to eating, glancing between Rim, who nibbled a tiny bit of egg but mostly stuck to seeds and nuts, and Stolas, who eventually wandered over to finish what was left in the pan. Watching them both filled him with a quiet sense of pride. “I’ve never cooked for myself before,” he said as he stretched, arms lifting lazily over his head. “So I really hope you like it. From the little bit I tried, I actually think I did a pretty good job.”

“You know when I was first presented with him I thought he was intimidating as well, for an old bird he’s rather strong~” He smirks, and follows with his eyes over towards the pan. Now he smiled. “That is very kind of you, thank you and yes I will be happy to have some.” Stolas walked over to the pan and put together himself a little plate. “I’m sure you got some buddy points with Rim, he loves to eat.” The mage then happily joins the others, gently sitting down.

“So, Prince, what should be our next step into helping you?” He asked curiously.

"Oh riding on your back would look cool" he laughs softly "well, how about you help me to the..." he curses under his breath at not knowing the words for things "That cushioned seating thing I sat on yesterday before I went to bed. I do not know the name for things yet in this realm but I will learn. When he awakens I can figure out a meal. I think until then I can enjoy your company" he watches the bird like out the squawk and then he pat him on the back "Thats one way to tell someone to wake the hell up"he laughed softly then looks around "actually, if you know your way around the kitchen, I can figure out something for us both to eat. I know how to put together basic food and I have a little magic if needed. I just need help getting to the high up counters and cupboards"

“Are you referring to the soft pillow the young Master set you on last night?” The crow cooed, tilting its head slightly.

“But yes, I can help you to that if that is what you’re referring to~”

After Rim had let out a squawk it echoed through the home, ringing through the mages ears. It caused his eyes to shoot open, but gently these ease while trying to focus on his surroundings.——Rim ruffled his feathers and leaned down so that his legs were tucked beneath his body, making it easier for the Prince to get onto his back.

“I remember a bit of where things are , shall we look around?” Rim clicks a few times and hums softly while watching the other closely.

The pillow on the sofa was what he wanted so that was correct "yes that is it" Yoru pet the birds head since he had perfect access to it and then he moved onto his back "You are so soft, I've never been close to a bird like this...in my realm we did not have birds. We had large bugs that were like birds to us, which sounds terrifying now that I say that out loud" he laughs softly then holds onto the bird carefully as he makes his way to the kitchen "I can make something you can have some of too, I'm sure he has some fruit and nuts around" once on the counter he gathers things with the birds help. By the time he was done he had managed to make some scrambled eggs with cheese with a side of nuts and berries. He made enough eggs that the mage could eat when ready as well. He plates up his small portion of eggs and then gets the bowl of nuts and berries set out, he sits and sets a few berries and nuts on the counter for Rim "If you can eat eggs, feel free to have some of mine" he smiles as he slowly eats, proud of himself for managing to prepare a meal for himself and his bird mate.

Stolas had finally got himself up, he didn’t mean to sleep in this late but the smell of food tickled his sense. He tightened the string around his robe and put his hair up into a messy bun—now walking downstairs and pauses a moment as he noticed Yoru interacting with his familiar, it was kind of heart warming knowing the prince was worried at first about them getting along.

He takes gentle steps down and comes into the kitchen with a smirk. “Good morning you two, it smells lovely in here~” The mages muses as he walks over to his coffee pot, fixing it up. “Rim are you behaving yourself?” Within seconds the crow let out a squawk and bobbed his head. “Yes master, i assure you it’s been a calm morning.”

Stolas smiled to himself and was pleased to hear that. “Good, good~” His voice was soft, a bit raspy from just waking up. Once his coffee started he spun around. “So, Prince Yoru, do you think Rim is scary now?” He chuckles. “It’s nice to see you two get along, genuinely i mean it..it’s been awhile since the old bird has had another besides myself, get along with him.” Stolas reaches over and scratches the back of Rims head.

Once the protection spell was set, he stood up and stretched his arms above his head and small pops came from his joints. Then he walks over to the fire, waving his hand over the warmth to weaken the flames just a bit. The mage looked into the glow of the flames, deep in thought though he snapped himself outta of it.

Stolas then made his way back up into his bedroom, being careful with each step he took. He didn’t want to make the other uneasy with his heavy footing—-Now he stood in the doorframe as his ruby red eyes landed on the other asleep. The corner of his mouth tugged up a little, forming a smirk. He was just in awe, happy to know that the other could get some rest and feel safe for the night.

It was going to take time and patience, this he knew, but the mage could only imagine how heavy this must all feel for the Prince. In a way, Stolas related to this situation—hundreds of years ago, the mage was casted out from the kingdom he stayed in and when he met the Dark Lord, his entire life had changed. He sold his soul, and now has given the rest of eternity to his studies. He was forced to stay in the Earth realm to learn about everything til Hell decided to take over.

Stolas sighed to himself, shaking his head.

As the mage approaches the bed, he carefully gets himself under the covers and gently eases his body down into a comfortable position. He takes a small glance at Yoru , then up at the ceiling before shutting his eyes. Tomorrow was another day, but he’d do whatever he could to help the Prince return to normal size.

Minutes went by and he was fast asleep—•

Yoru slept in that following morning but woke up with a sudden jolt as he had a startling moment in his dream, he clenched his chest and glanced around. It took a moment to remember where he was, and once he realized where he was, he sighed and climbed down from the pillow he had been sleeping on. He rubbed his eyes and then fixed his hair with his fingers. He was still weak from his injuries, but he used his wings to help himself off the bed, and then he headed out of the room to explore. He searched around curiously, then with a little flutter of his wings on each step, Yoru came down the stairs slowly. He couldn't fly much, but he was able to use his wings in short bursts. He froze at the bottom of the stairs when he noticed the man's crow familiar. He froze, then stared up at the creature, "You are huge compared to me!" The bird wasn't actually too much taller than Yoru, but enough to be intimidating for sure. Yoru backed up so he wasn't as intimidated by the height. He then laughed nervously and waved, "I guess now we meet face to face, huh? I absolutely do not remember your name, but uh...I'm Yoru." He held out his hand for the bird to shake, but quickly realized his mistake, then just bowed his head politely like a prince normally would, since the bird did not have hands to shake with.

Rim perked his head up and shook out his feathers a bit, the crow looked over at Yoru and made a few clicking sounds. They were soft, gentle. Not to be intimidating. Its eyes were locked onto the fae, just watching the other closely because overall the familiar was definitely curious about the new creature.

Rim squawks and flaps his wings a bit before closing his eyes and storing power within himself to unlock his chamber of speech. As a bright green shimmers around Rim, he gently opens up his beak to speak. “It’s a pleasure to finally meet you, Prince~” The crow gives a gentle bow.

“I assure you that my master has told you that I bring no harm to you, given my size..I’m only curious, I’ve never come across a creature like you before..Very interesting,interesting indeed..” He makes soft rattling in his throat. “My name is Rim, for a gentle reminder~”

"Rim....an odd name for sure..." he shivers at the sound of the birds voice "Crows have such spooky voices, I like it" he laughs softly "I'm not that weird...kind of like a human just small...and winged...just a bit useless at the moment since I can't fly very well" he pouts for a moment then moves a bit closer and pets the birds head as he lowers it "You are gorgeous, scary at my size but the fact you speak helps, though it still sends a chill down my spine at first. I like it, its a good chill, I think we will get along...you aren't giant....just big...compared to me...so until I can increase my size...it will be nice having someone around who isn't human sized" he glances around "speaking of human sized...where is that companion of yours? I'm starving...and I can't get around very easily, this home is too big for me" he curses under his breath at the fact he forgot that mans name as well, he was terrible with rembering names, but he knew he would remember his name once he saw the mans face, the birds name was easier to forget since he had yet to fully meet him until just now.

Rim listened carefully and was definitely intrigued by the other, he felt that having him here would be best fit and truthfully the old crow believed his master deserved some company even if he constantly states he prefers to be alone.

“Master Stolas should be awakening anytime now, usually using up a lot of magic in one day makes him tired—before stumbling upon you he already used more than half to transport to visit his Master..so my apologies on his behalf of him not being down here yet.” He clicks a few times and lets out a sudden squawk to alert the mage.

"Oh don't worry, despite my past as a prince. I don't bark orders. I kept to myself mostly. Honestly you will only have to do things for me in an annoying amount up until I can change my size and do them myself and then I will need minimal help. For now I am sort of limited by my size and most important the injuries. Though I do appreciate your healing attempt as I have improved significantly and no longer feel like I was trampled" he laughs softly then watches the man do his little fire trick. "Well aesthetic wise, your companion is pretty cool, I just despite most creatures bigger than myself, that's really saying something considering everything in this realm is larger than myself. But it's okay" he looks down at himself "I will say I appreciate the clothing but, we may need to discuss some style options" he was lucky to be wearing all black but it was a bit simple for his taste. "I like things a bit bold and dark, vibe wise and color" he hoped the other would understand what he meant, hopefully in time he would learn proper style terms but he was unsure what words they used in this realm.

“I will help you as much as I’m capable of doing so while tending to the things I have to take care of as well, and you are welcome. I didn’t use my strongest form of magic so that is why you’re only healed so much.” He mutters as he walked closer towards the fae.

“But I’m pleased to hear that you are hurting less, I could give you another healing session tomorrow if you’d like?” The mage tilted his head slightly, while he awaited an answer his eyes were studying the others firm in every detail get he could. It was mainly to help him remember for later on for when he wrote these things down in his Grimoire, one of the most powerful books that the Dark Lord had gifted him.

It held so much information that Stolas had gathered over the many, many of years. It was his duty to study everything and anything that entered this realm or original lived here.

“Discuss with me whatever you may wish, this is only temporary so whatever your taste may lean towards please, do tell~” The mage listened carefully as he made mental notes to what the Prince mentioned. “Noted~ Tomorrow I shall craft up some better attire for you..Perhaps add a few spells to your garments to keep you safe~” Stolas coos with a grin.

"It's fine, I will heal in time. I do not need more magic. I am not that weak," he glared at the man. He did not like how intensely the man was looking him over. "If you wish to study me, it seems far more polite to ask first. Plus, if you are polite enough, I can give you info that just a glance won't reveal," he shrugs. "Temporary?" Oh, I'm sorry, but this may turn out to be a longer-term thing than you want. I am stranded in this realm, and you are the first non-human I have encountered the entire time. Though I may become more independent as time goes on, you and I may become rather close," he decided to not beat around the bush since he knew he was not going anywhere anytime soon, he was a small magical creature in a realm that often killed his kind, he was much safer with this man than anywhere else but he hoped the idea of being indipendent and not heavily relying on him the entire time would make it seem like a not terrible exchange "Maybe this can benefit us both" he grins "You can learn about my kind from me and I can have a safe place to live and have you for protection until I am stronger and able to increase my size and improve my magic" his grin shifted to a more genuine smile as he thought over the whole thing and how it seemed like a decent deal for them both.

“You definitely are an interesting creature, and the only one who’s given me issues about my studying.” He sighs with a faint chuckle while he shakes his head. “And i will allow you to stay in my home as long as i’d like, if i feel something is off or if i don’t like how im spoken to i can easily find you somewhere else to go. I’m not doing this because I have to, it is a free will choice i made to allow you the safety of my space.” He correct the other. “So this is temporary, not forever.”

He rubbed the back of his neck as he waited for the mans response, he glanced around the room a bit, he usually wasn't this shy but he also was usually by himself so maybe that was why.

“I can let you rest in my room while I lay out here on the couch, I promise it’ll be fine.” He mutters before stretching out his arms a bit, the tiredness was catching up. “I’ll cast a protection spell so nothing is able to disturb you while you’re asleep, me and my familiar will keep watch.”

"I'm the size of the rats I've seen in this realm...let me sleep on a pillow...you have a whole bed. I do not mind if you sleep in the same bed. Not like you will do me any harm, if you were going to, I think you would have by now," he steps up onto the man's hand and sits down, so he won't wobble when the guy moves him around. He was trying to hide it, but he was far more tired than he had originally thought. The second he was sitting on his hand, Yoru yawned big and then tiredly glanced up at the man, "Plus I might actually feel safer if you are nearby...I am not used to this realm, and knowing you have magic and a larger size than myself also eases my nerves." he hated to admit this realm made him uneasy. Still, he was sent there to die afterall so of course he was feeling unsettled, boarderline scared since his kind were not made for this harsh realm.

Stolas stays still, not wanting to frighten the other..he’s gentle. “Yeah, I suppose I can allow you to do that..Normally I prefer sleeping alone but for now, I’ll make a spot for you.” The mage then begins to move, he walks carefully up the small set of stairs that lead to his room. It was filled with so many kinds of books, small plants were near the windowsill and candles scattered. It wasn’t a horrid mess, but more of small clutter. Stolas was often found here in his room, studying over all the information he’s gathered over the years. Even things not even human would ever know about.

He reaches out his free hand, using magic to move around the pillows to make it more comfortable for the prince. Then he flicks his wrist and a small, yet thick cloth appeared..that would make use as a blanket for the other.

“Here you are~” Gently Stolas places Yoru down and takes a small step back so that he wouldn’t seem intimidated by his height. “I know it may not be the best, though it can satisfy you through the night at least~” He coos with a small smile.

“I just have to conjecture up the protection spell then I’ll be joining you with getting rest. I shall be right back~” The mage gives a small bow before he leaves the room and heads downstairs where he sat in the middle of the room.

He eventually leaned against the side and closed his eyes. "May death be kinder than this realm could ever be..." he mumbled to himself.

"Oh don't worry, despite my past as a prince. I don't bark orders. I kept to myself mostly. Honestly you will only have to do things for me in an annoying amount up until I can change my size and do them myself and then I will need minimal help. For now I am sort of limited by my size and most important the injuries. Though I do appreciate your healing attempt as I have improved significantly and no longer feel like I was trampled" he laughs softly then watches the man do his little fire trick. "Well aesthetic wise, your companion is pretty cool, I just despite most creatures bigger than myself, that's really saying something considering everything in this realm is larger than myself. But it's okay" he looks down at himself "I will say I appreciate the clothing but, we may need to discuss some style options" he was lucky to be wearing all black but it was a bit simple for his taste. "I like things a bit bold and dark, vibe wise and color" he hoped the other would understand what he meant, hopefully in time he would learn proper style terms but he was unsure what words they used in this realm.

“I will help you as much as I’m capable of doing so while tending to the things I have to take care of as well, and you are welcome. I didn’t use my strongest form of magic so that is why you’re only healed so much.” He mutters as he walked closer towards the fae.

"Trust me, even satan himself can not do such magic. Going between realms is the heaviest of magic possible. But if I can at least know they are well...I can be at peace" he glances at the bird "Why can't he speak like a normal crow? He seems to speak through telepathy but that is odd...even regular crows speak to some degree...I'd imagine he'd be capable of great speech" he taises an eyebrow then shakes his head "Odd...and I have no desire to become friendly with that creature until I can increase my size...at least by half...for now keep him away...at this size I am food for something like that" he crosses his arms casually "I am planning to work on my magic and over time increase my size...someday I hope to be able to change it at will...for now it will not be that simple...changing size is risky to do on others so I will focus on doing it myself in time...and I will not need much help getting around...just temporarily until I am no longer weak..."

And not all familiars are the same so my apologies that mine doesn’t fit your standard.” He smirks and shrugs his shoulders. “There’s more to Rim than ya know but You don’t have to be friends, that i’m not forcing but i will tell you he won’t hurt you at all.” Stolas sighs softly as he sat beside the fireplace.

“Stay as long as you need til you’re strong and healed up. I don’t mind at all, plus it’ll give you a safe space to be at while you do so.” He held his hands over the fire, warming his old bones up.

“You’ll be taken care of , Prince~ don’t you worry~ I know it’s hard to believe since you’ve only met me..but I do know hospitalty.” Stolas glanced over his shoulder to give a warm smile.

"Never said there was a standard....just was curious...don't need to be snarky" he rolled his eyes then crossed his arms casually "As much as I hate to admit it, you are stuck with me for the foreseeable future because I do not intend on seeking out another non-human as that is tiresome and I am already done with this realm. So, I guess we will have to get used to each other.....and that includes that bird of yours" he wasn't against animals just wasn't a fan of the size difference, but he knew well enough he was safe around this one and in time he'd increase his size once his magic improved, well after his health improved and then his magic improved. Then he'd have no issues around the bird since crows and ravens were beautiful gothic birds, though in his realm they did not exist, but they had similar birds, so he had some experience around creatures like that. After some silence he glances where the bird had left "So your bird friend can speak out loud if he so wishes? I wonder if I will ever get to hear it, not that it matters if he does....I am just curious what he'd say to me if he could" he shrugs his shoulders then uncrosses his arms.

“And as long as you’re not barking orders and remain kind then of course you have a place to stay~” It wasn’t a threat, just simple boundaries he had. Stolas turned his body towards the fire now, back facing the other as he waved his hand over the flames. “But if given any reason to not trust you..” A single flame connected to his hand and moved throughout his fingers til it sat at the tips. “Let’s just say it wouldn’t be a happy ending, I take my home and my sanity very seriously.” Stolas had been through so much in life, consistently told what he should be doing and what his purpose was but now he had full control to it all—“And don’t get the idea as if I’m saying you’re doing these things, I just know how royalty can be at times~”

“Rim has a variety of capabilities ~ I can say that speaking is one of them, but he’s picky about whom he speaks with, but as I said before once he feels warmed up enough I’m sure you may hear something~” He coos softly before flicking his wrist outward to shoot the flames back into the pit, moments later the stood tall and stretched a bit.

“Please feel free to eat as much as your heart desires, I can conjure up more clothing for you tomorrow as well and get you more situated.”

Yoru was a prince, that word felt like a stab to the heart….was…he no longer held that title, and it made his heart break in two. His family had been dethroned, and he was banished. He had fought back, and something went entirely wrong. He couldn't figure out where he was. It was a strange place full of giants, not the giants he was used to, but giants with weird clothing, and the buildings looked odd, and the smells everywhere reeked of chemicals. He could hardly fly; he was weak, his wings struggled to lift him, and he had no clothes as they disintegrated in the journey between realms. His body had scrapes and bruises from the rough landing, and he was worried he'd starve or freeze to death, but luckily, he would either be killed by a giant footstep or an animal ripping him limb from limb, and his pain would end soon. Delirious from hunger, he finally managed to fly and quickly headed in the direction that gave off the best smells he had smelled the entire time he was in this realm, which was warm and meaty and made his mouth water, but he couldn't find the source, and this enraged him. He sighed heavily and found a place to sit on the windowsill of a random building. He felt warmth from the window, and it was enough to keep him from freezing to death. He eventually leaned against the side and closed his eyes. "May death be kinder than this realm could ever be..." he mumbled to himself.

Stolas would be sure to write this all down later , truthfully he’s never come across any kind of fae in person so being so lucky to run into one seemed like it was meant to happen. “I will keep this all noted, and most do speak here — some in different languages and others not at all. So i’m always pleased to be able to have a conversation with new creatures ~” Stolas smiled and once he was told by the other that he heard to be royalty he paused and gives a small bow.

I study everything and anything i can about this realm — creatures specifically.” He coos with excitement and turns his attention to the wing coming out of Yoru..they way they shimmered was absolutely beautiful, quite different to other fairies he’s read up on. “Wow…magnificent those are~”

"I am specifically a dark fae...my family was dethroned and I was banished from our realm....I stupidly tried to fight back" though his scrapes and bruises weren't as prominant as before, they were still there and showed his bumpy landing into this realm "My entry into this realm was supposed to be a death sentence. This realm is not friendly to my kind...most small creatures in fact. I easily should have died from the impact of hitting the ground alone" he shrugs "You likely haven't read about my kind and the faeries you read about are from this realm and those are wild fae...feral and mean. Born from generations of banished fae from other realms sent to die but somehow survived...they no longer have a specific type...blood muddled by mixed breeding" he shrugs "this is why fae are often considered mean and sneaky by humans, because of the wild fae that exist here...but its quite the opposite in other realms. Usually we see humans as mean and sneaky" he glances at the man "I may have lost my kingdom and my crown but my blood will always be blue....so I am forever a prince" he meant blue in the metephorical sense as it signified royalty. "I will need your help getting around...I currently am too small to just walk...and I am too weak to fly without it being a danger risk" he spoke with a soft voice and a nice eloquent tone and the fact he was a prince was even more apparent from that alone.

“Sounds like you’ve been through a heap of things, my condolences for the loss you’ve dealt with..” His voice was steady, calm, not wanting to make his new guest feel uneasy. The mage stood beside the fire and waved his hands around to start up a meal—the different smells began to linger in the air. “A death sentence you say? Hmm how unusual ~ but you are correct here we don’t see the Dark Fae roam around at all. So again, it is an honor to be in your presence.” He smirks while flipping the ingredients around.

“The humans here are pretty ruthless, though most are very weak minded—anything that’s different from them they’ll always claim as monstrous..So please, be cautious if you wander out.” Stolas scuffed under his breath, he’s been apart of that hate..Many years ago humans casted Stolas away for being different with his powers, they said he wasn’t safe and dangerous to be around.

“Even as Prince without a title, you still have royalty in your blood, you have my respect regardless and I will do my best to assist you.” Once Stolas finished up, he set the plate down beside the other and casted another spell to shrink it down to an easier size for the prince.

“I’m going to change out of these soaking wet robes, I will be right back~” Stolas then leaves with a smile, he’s turns the corner and goes into his bedroom where he changed into more comfortable clothes. Warm and dry.

"Oh, I have no plans on going out until I increase my size. Which will be a while...so you are stuck with me for a while....especially because you are the only nonhuman in the area and that is the safest place for me.." he sits watching the man cook with a curious gaze, his wings not fluttering but every so often they slowly open and close, after a while his wings slowly lower and become limp as they relax since he was unable to use them right now anyway. "Being in this realm is not ideal for many reasons....But I wish I knew if my family was alright..." he sighs heavily, "but traveling between realms is not easy even for the most experienced magic user...it takes multiple people and very strong magic." he was trying to keep a conversation going, but it was leading in a depressing direction so he let the conversation die down and he just remained quiet as he watched the man cook in silence.

“That’s quite alright, I live here alone ..well , my familiar comes and goes, but he’s real kind and wouldn’t harm ya if he seen you within our safe space. He’s been trained real well~ So if you see a Crow come in don’t be alarmed~” He hums softly.

“Sometimes I think about my family, but I know they’d rather I keep far from them…Honestly it’s been far over a hundred years, they’re probably all gone by now..” He shrugs.

"Familiar? That's usually an anima,l right? Oh, a bird," he scans the room curiously. "I am the size of a mouse...that bird better keep its distance until I am bigger unless it offers me a ride," he attempted at a joke, but it came out more awkward than funny. He shakes his head, "Nothing you can do...our realms are very far apart, and even if you knew every detail about them, getting to our realm is hard... It's like that on purpose to protect our kind...plus it keeps banished fae from being able to return...." he sighs heavily "If I could just know they are okay...even if I couldn't go back...I'd be alright," he shakes his head.d "I wasn't very close with my family...but we got along...Pl, us I feel bad getting myself banished like this....many, many years ago, my parents lost my brother....he went into the dark, bloody forest (just a name, no actual blood) and never returned...so he was presumed dead....I was there only remaining son...and I got myself banished." he shakes his head.
