ā¦but supporting beekeepers is very important to maintaining the health and success of bee populations. Why the heck would you want to discourage people from consuming honey?
A lot of radical animal rights groups like PETA spread info that beekeeping is cruel, the same way they do about wool ect, so people continue to spread that misinformation.Ā
Honey isnāt cruel, do your own research, you can even contact your local apiarists. Be proactive in your learning, or you end up hurting instead of helping.
Aaaahhh that makes sense. Iām disappointed, but not surprised. Please buy honey, everyone. Local and straight from the beekeeper in your area, if you can. Itās good for the bees, and they need all the help they can get right now.
No, consuming honey does not help the bees and it is not vegan. Honey is the beeās winter food source, it is made by them for them. We canāt save them by eating their food that they need, and feeding them sugar-water which weakens their immune system.
The honey industry does not care about saving the bees, they care about making a profit. Same goes for local beekeepers.
And wool is not vegan either! If something comes from an animal it is not vegan.
Just because something comes from an animal, does not make it cruel or harmful to use it. Domestic sheep need to be sheared, or their wool just continues to grow beyond what they can handle. Remember that one sheep who escaped for years and didnāt get sheared for all that time, named Shrek? He was so heavy by the time he was caught and sheared, that the weight of the wool alone was too much for his body to carry without straining him. We could just throw the wool away, but it makes a lot more sense to use it, because to replace it with enough artificial material to generate that same amount of warmth would mean sucking up a much larger quantity of some other resource for no reason(most synthetic fabrics and yarns are made of plastics which are generally not biodegradable or particularly eco-friendly.) Actually, to get quality honey, the bees have to be both alive and healthy. Beekeepers take excellent care of their bees, and the bees create far more honey than the hive can possibly consume. Beekeepers are very careful to ensure that each hive retains all the (real, bee-made) honey it needs in order to maintain itself, and keep itself in optimal health. They really canāt afford to feed bees sugar water and weaken their immune systems, because bees are the source of their product and they need to be as healthy and happy as possible for that business to thrive. If the bees suffer, the honey production goes down, and hives die easily if stressed or sick. When you buy local honey, it supports the beekeepers, who maintain our bee populations and who do the most work to ensure the health of critical honey bee species. Most of the āhoneyā produced by corporations on a large scale for sale in grocery store chains is actually just varieties of flavoured sugary syrup, with little real honey in the mix, if any at all. Thatās where your immune-system-weakening sugar water is at. It may be vegan, though. I wouldnāt know. I support local beekeepers. All my honey is purchased at local markets directly from a beekeeper, or given to me by my uncle, who keeps about 3 hives. Itās great that you care about the well-being of these animals, but you seem very misinformed and I would encourage you to do some active research into these industries, particularly the ālocalā and non-commercial farms/apiaries. Many of them are very transparent about what goes on in their whole production process, and are happy to educate and inform the public on how it all works. Supporting those sorts of small businesses not only supports the ethical keeping of these animals and the efforts made by ethical keepers to generate public awareness of the issues they face, but it also boosts local economies and spreads more wealth around the working class as opposed to further feeding the uber-rich 1%(who generate many of the āvegan alternativesā to these natural products.) Veganism is very trendy right now. Large corporations are picking up on that and exploiting people by selling them ideas which look great, cater to their new moral needs, and generate plenty of profit, but which arenāt always necessarily ethical, or even beneficial to our environment. Think of it like those mason jar mugs with handles. That marketing tactic definitely isnāt limited to mason jar novelties. By all means, care about animals, be vegan if you want to be. Spread awareness and make a difference. Just please remember to keep your head open and sharp. Make sure that you are still making these choices with informed reason, and not just in an effort to be some sort of Superior Absolute Vegan.
rebloggin for dat last comment~ If youāre gonna be about something do the homework like that person. Question everything, use this information super highway as an information super highway, not a misinformation super highway. also fuck that button, I am vegan for health reasons. SUCK ITTTTT
Do you uh, really think 350 is a fair asking price for two or three lined figures and some text?
mm yes because they are full body and usually i do an expression sheet on the side PLUS clothing variation. and ALL that is colored and rendered . plus drawing cross sections to show what sorta flesh or gore they have on the inside. among the myriad of accessories, markings, piercings and general abnormalities that should be showcased in a reff.Ā
worth every penny !Ā
Just an FYI example sheets take tons of time and effort and a rather meticulous eye to get things right. Yea⦠350 should be the lower end of what you even consider to charge. Even if you are just doing flat colors treat each drawing as if itās a separate commission. Like how much would you charge for two full bodies essentially ? How much would you charge for a bust? Apply that to expression diagrams. Drawing OUTFITS should be another full body a pop. What Iām getting at here is donāt sell your time short.
Yea dude, the time spent alone is worth something. Your commission prices should also reflect the time put in. If a certain comm takes you like 50 hours to do, You probably should charge more than 45 bucks for it. AND ITS OK TO CHARGE 350 FOR SOMETHING. I know some artists get anxiety about pricing work high, but remember itās ok to charge what YOU think is fair for YOU the artist, not what the commissioner would like. Never do free work. Never get paid in āadvertising.ā Never under sell. NOW GET OUT THERE AND MAKE SOME DOOOOOOOOOOSH

How you spell āThe Berenstain Bearsā could be proof of parallel universes
āYou need to look up the Berenst#in Bears problem.ā
It was this innocent comment left on a post about parallel universes that first pulled by Rob Schwarz of Stranger Dimensions into one of the internetās strangest theories. It involves The Berenstein Bears, a loving family of anthropomorphized bears who taught children life lessons via hundreds of picture books and two TV shows. But the problem is they arenāt The Berenstein Bears, theyāre The Berenstain Bears.
Though a startling number of people remember the name as BerenstEin, itās in fact spelled BerenstAin, just like the authors Stan and Jan Berenstain. But is it possible that so many people are just wrong about the title? Back in 2012, blogger Reeceoffered up another explanation: Some of us have recently crossed over from a parallel universe.
He argues:
⦠at some time in the last 10 years or so, reality has been tampered with and history has been retroactively changed. The bears really were called the āBerenstEin Bearsā when we were growing up, but now reality has been altered such that the name of the bears has been changed post hoc.
Somehow, we have all undergone a Ļ/2 phase change in all 4 dimensions so that we moved to the stAin hexadectant, while our counterparts moved to our hexadectant (stEin). They are standing around expressing their confusion about the āBerenstein Bearsā and how they all remember āBerenstain Bearsā on the covers growing up.
Those who remember the name as āBerenstainā are native to this āAā Universe, while those who are sure itās āBerensteinā traveled over from the āEā Universe.
