“Are you bored?” Hajime replied, cutting the measured wire off the roll. He glanced up as he set the scissors aside, long enough for his amused smile to not just be directed at the ground.
“We can do something else if you want.” He didn’t seem to be in any hurry to accommodate that, instead focusing back on the materials nearby. Thanks to earlier organization, putting together each small bundle of flowers was as quick as binding them together with floral tape.
“Not at all. We can stay.” It wasn’t boring. Surprising? Yes. He hadn’t expected Hajime to agree to come by the festival whatsoever, let alone spend so much time on an arts and crafts stand. He was happy with it, the smile on his face saying it all, so Kenzaki didn’t mind. He just had to keep his eye on the time so they could visit other spots before everything closed down.
He looked at the few crowns he made himself, uneven and ready to fall apart, and back to Hajime’s. All of them were no less than perfect.
“How are you so good at this?” He shook his own crown and sighed when one of the flowers easily fell. What a sad state.
