It’s almost dusk; Kay’s favorite time to explore Spirale. When it gets dark, she doesn’t have to worry about the sun, and there’s almost never any humans when she goes out.
She likes looking in the shop windows when no one is around. There’s usually no one to chase her away at this hour; people tend to dislike non-humans loitering around their stores.
Her ears flatten as she notices a stranger nearby; a human. Running would look suspicious, so she stands her ground... for now.
“I was just looking,” she says, her ears flattening against her head. “I’m allowed to be here!”
I started watching Kamen Rider at Kabuto and liked it, but I was too lazy to go back and watch everything that came before, so I was confused during Decade || chalicearrow
“.. TV stations here are kind of lacking, aren’t they? Besides the news there’s not a lot else that’s on? Where’s all the anime? How am I supposed to watch p*rn on here, dammit?”
DON’T JUST SAY THAT OUT LOUD!

@chalicearrow liked for a subversion starter!
Sunday is the one day she keeps the bakery closed, explicitly to spend time with friends. However, the door to the shop remains open, so the children that frequented it could come and go as they pleased, using the seating both in and outside.
This is the day she spends restocking her shelves, trying new recipes and making time for things in life other than her darling bakery.
Like friends.
It’s when the chime on the back door of the bakery rings that she hurried wipes flour on her apron and turns her attention, a massive smile on her face. Hajime, in her mind, is her best friend, and her business partner. Though she’s unsure if he feels the same, she’s always happy to see him all the same.
“Hajime!” His name is punctuated with a small clap, flour going everywhere.
“I’m quite happy to see you my friend, I had an idea. You know what we should try making...? Cake pops! I’ve never tried to make my own.”
@chalicearrow
“I’m so happy!” Maybe he’s heard, but maybe he hasn’t, either way the joy on her face is hard to ignore, definitely, “I was able to open up my Cafe here!” And the best part? “I get to grow more leaves and meet new people!” Throughout her excitement though, she’s able to gesture toward him, “What about you? Will you be doing anything, Hajime?”
So, it seemed that whoever ran this new little town had outsourced their work - of mapping this very place, y the sound of it - to their own victims, using some creepy floating doll-child as a proxy. Cute. Kovacs took a final drag from his cigarette and flicked it away, wandering along the edges of the crowd.
Too bad he probably wouldn’t get to kill anyone with one of those ‘guns’. Not that he needed a weapon, but it was more efficient that way.
As Matthias hand had once noted, way back on Sanction IV, Kovacs had a pathological rejection of groupings. And as Kovacs had retorted, there was no verging about it. On the other hand, much as he hated having to play nice with others outside the Corps (the thought of Sylvie’s Slipins came to mind, unbidden), he was even more adverse to dying. Which meant he was going to need to make a couple of new friends.
As it happened, though, he ran into someone else first. Not a friend, not exactly - who was? - but at least a familiar face, that he could tolerate.
“Yi Hansol. Fancy meeting you here. What do you make of all this?”

“What necessity is there to dwell on the Past, when the Present is so much surer–the Future so much brighter?” Anne quoted flawlessly, turning to the stranger beside her. She had just been reading Jane Eyre before arriving to this island, so this quote in particular was fresh in her mind.
“Do you have any significant words truer than that? I hardly doubt there is; not a single scenario can I think that these words won’t fit in.”
oof, due to the structure/nature of this event, i’m may have to delay posting all owed starters and threads for a bit!! i’ll post them later, but event threads will take priority once i get things settled!
