hi,

i've been writing for pretty much my entire life, and i've always struggled with keeping my stuff short and precise, so i decided to challenge myself to posting one drabble (aka exactly 100 words) every day for 100 days. i started posting them here at the beginning of february, and now i just post whatever i want/occasionally use this for fandom events when i don't have enough time or energy to write full fics...

Day 28: Temptation

Osha was trying to figure out if it was wrong for her to get closer to Jecki. She was adorable, and clearly interested, but she was also a Padawan, so getting attached was probably a bad idea. In the end, she didn’t have to worried about it, because Jecki was the one who approached her, telling her that she hadn’t been happy at the temple in a long time, and that she’d decided to leave the Jedi Order. Then, she asked if Osha wanted to go out with her. They went on their first of many dates that very night.

Day 27: Making College Plans Together

When Harry first asked Breanna if she wanted to come look at colleges with him and his daughter, she imagined an incredibly awkward trip, but she still agreed to it for some reason. The first hour or so was strange, but then she actually started talking to Becky and noticed that it was surprisingly easy. They bonded over mocking Harry, and over everything they wanted to do and see, and by the end of the day, they were thick as thieves. When Harry dropped Breanna off after, Becky hugged her goodbye and gave her number to her with a wink.

Day 26: Dinner Dates

Once a week, Regina had dinner and drinks with Emma, just the two of them. It had started out as just a convenient way to keep each other up-to-date about everything regarding their son, but it quickly became much more than that. It only took a few months, and more than a few drinks, for things to fully escalate during one of those dinners. When they woke up the next morning, half-dressed in Regina’s bed, Regina finally managed to ask Emma out. They had their first real date that night. A month later, they told Henry that they were dating.

Day 25: Living Heater

Kyoshi didn’t usually mind the cold, not even when she was trying to sleep, but it was still incredible to have Rangi there with her, keeping her warm and curling into her in a way she only ever did when they were alone together. Sometimes, when she was particularly happy and comfortable in Kyoshi’s arms, Rangi got almost too hot, to the point where Kyoshi occasionally had to move away for a few moments so she wouldn’t get burned. She never managed to stay away for long, though, because Rangi was just too irresistible, especially when she looked so comfortable.

Day 24: Morning Rituals

The first thing Jamie did when she woke up every morning was to check that Dani was still there and breathing. She couldn’t fully calm down until she was sure that nothing had happened in the night, no matter how many times she insisted that she was fine just taking things one day at a time. One day, Dani had woken up much earlier than normal and decided to get breakfast for them both. By the time she got back from the store, Jamie was crying hysterically. After that, Dani made sure to always be there when Jamie woke up.

Day 23: Baking Mishaps

Carmilla had made a terrible miscalculation. For Laura’s birthday, she wanted to bake some fresh cookies for her, and that should have been completely fine, but somehow wasn’t. According to the recipe, it should have taken way less than an hour, but Carmilla had decided to take two, just in case. Unfortunately, that turned out to be not nearly enough, because she quickly figured out that she was terrible at baking. The first batch turned out as one giant blob of mess, the second burned to a crisp, and so on. She still had nothing edible when Laura came home.

Day 22: In Sickness And Health

Kit was pretty sure that Jade was sick, but since she had no proof, there was basically nothing she could do about it. She had been slacking a bit during training, her voice sounded rough and congested, and Kit had caught her trying to hide coughs several times now, but the biggest giveaway was that they hadn’t kissed each other or even slept in each other’s arms in three days. Jade hadn’t addressed it, because she could be incredibly stubborn sometimes, but Kit wasn’t just going to let this go. She made their group stop travelling so Jade could rest.

Day 21: The Smell Of Freshly-Brewed Coffee

Polly could never quite make herself enjoy the taste of coffee, but she loved the way it smelled, mostly because the scent always let her know that Mal was nearby and usually doing relatively well. Every time, without fail, even when they barely had any left, Mal would offer Polly a cup, and she would always smile and say that she preferred tea. Mal, of course, knew that and already had a cup prepared for her so they could share a hot drink and a few moments of calm, no matter how hard or stressful things got all around them.

Day 20: They Were Roommates

Living together with Beatrice and just leading a mostly normal life was the happiest Ava had ever been, at least as far as she could remember. The only thing that could have made it even better – aside from not having to train quite so much, of course – would have been if she could have just built up the courage to tell Beatrice how she felt. It would have been risky, of course, and might even have ruined what they had, but Ava was pretty sure that Beatrice felt the same way as she did. Still, she just couldn’t say it.

Day 19: Reasons For Secrecy

Silena wouldn’t have minded telling people about their relationship, but Clarisse insisted on keeping it a secret, mostly because she didn’t want whatever backlash it might cause to impact her girlfriend. After all, Clarisse had a lot of enemies, and a non-negligible amount of them would have loved to know such a glaring weakness. Silena didn’t mind, at least in part because she thought it was both fun and incredibly romantic to sneak around right under everybody’s noses. It was actually kind of funny how obvious they could be about it, they’d even been caught sharing beds more than once.

Day 18: Searching

Rio was absolutely losing her mind. It had been over a year since she last saw Agatha, or even so much as sensed her presence. Ever since they had first met, they had never been apart for more than a few weeks at most, even when Agatha insisted that she never wanted to see Rio again, and that she would never forgive her. Maybe that was the truth, but it didn’t mean that she stopped killing witches, fully knowing that Rio would always show up to take them away. That was all over now, no matter how hard Rio searched.

Day 17: A List Of Experiences

Max was often surprised when El didn’t know something completely normal, and then always felt bad for forgetting and being surprised. El was nice about it, but that only made Max feel worse. So, after a few awkward moments, she decided to make a list of all of the things she thought El needed to know, and then they worked their way through them all together. El’s favourite so far was surprisingly peppermint tea. Max herself didn’t really like it, but from that day on, she always made sure to have some around, just in case El asked for it.

Day 16: Nightmare Relief

Yang was having a terrible nightmare and Blake had no idea if she should wake her up or not. They all had nightmares all the time, of course, but this one seemed particularly bad and Blake was worried that it would get even worse if she accidentally startled her. But when Yang said her name, small and broken and drowning in desperation, Blake refused to stay away any longer. She reached out carefully, but her girlfriend startled anyway, only for a moment. Then she recognized her and threw herself forward, into Blake’s waiting arms, clinging to her and crying openly.

Day 15: The Urge To Bite

Sometimes Marceline got bored and just started chewing on Bonnie, not even taking any of her red but just biting because she could and felt like it. She only did it when they were alone because, apparently, it was “undignified” for a ruler to be seen that way, but she didn’t mind. They had plenty of time with just the two of them to do whatever they wanted, which sometimes meant that Bonnie did some strange science experiments while Marceline hovered behind her, either casually chewing on bubblegum hair or just occasionally leaning over to bite whatever she could reach.

Day 14: Brunch

Every Saturday, no matter how busy they were, Charlie and Lysa had brunch together. They tried a different place, usually in a different city, every week, just because they could. At first, they just wanted a break from their chaotic lives, but it quickly became a highlight of every week for both of them. It was during one of those brunches that Lysa finally built up the courage to kiss Charlie for the first time. Charlie, of course, returned the kiss quite enthusiastically. From that day on, their brunches were proper brunch dates, even if nothing actually changed about them.

Day 13: Sleepover Thoughts

Jackie never slept better than when she stayed over at Shauna’s place, both of them spread out in the same bed. Shauna was a deep sleeper, but Jackie sometimes stayed up late just to enjoy being this close to her. When it was cold, Shauna would hold her close, and in the summer, their hands sometimes brushed against each other. If she felt really brave, Jackie would intertwine their fingers, but she always let go again before Shauna woke up, acting like nothing had happened. Jackie never wanted to stop having sleepovers with her, laying there, right next to Shauna.
