The best way of studying
The school system in the Netherlands isn’t in its perfect state if you would ask me. The school system in the Netherlands is all about making tests, working for deadlines and let teachers choose how students need to work. I think you could better stop making five tests in a week and do something different.
According to different studies, tests are not the ideal thing to let students study something. It turns out that a lot of students learn for a test, make the test, and after the test they can’t remember anything of the things they learned. This is only after a short period of time. Right now the school system in the Netherlands is regulated by this. Students learn for something, do what they have to do, and later they’ll forget everything.
Things that better work are for example more practical assignments. You can make this assignments longer than a test so students will longer work with the subject than just making a test or exam for one hour. Also if you ask students if they still can remember what they had to do and what was tested, they will know. Also after a longer period of time. This is because you can link it with something practical. If you bring education to practice, students are really studying.
According to me the perfect school system would look like something with three days of lessons, in which you get explanation and you get the opportunity to ask questions. The other two days I would say that you do self-studying. In these two days you can work on the practical assignments for example. By this you will become independent in your own process of studying.
In conclusion, studying isn’t just about making one test or exam, it is about remembering the rest of your life what to do in certain situations. I think you do this by bringing education to practice.
