The Netherlands' Eurovision competitor, Joost Klein risks being prosecuted for threats after his visit to Malmö. Now his lawyer comments on the incident.

"He denies comitting a crime." says Jan-Åke Fält (Lawyer).

The Eurovision competitor Joost Klein had a police report filed against him for illegal threats, and was disqualified from participating in the finale.

The swedish police mentioned earlier that they've worked quickly on this case, since they consider the evidence presented as useful, especially in combination with this not being a more serious crime.

According to Jan-Åke Fält, Joost Klein denies any crime.

"As I've understood it, there was an agreement between him and the management. When he went off the stage, there was an emotional/sensitive moment where he was not to be photographed. He was supposed to be met by his team, but was instead met by a photographer. He asks the person to quit filming him."

Jan-Åke Fält says the photographer didn't listen to Joost Klein.

"Considering this, he pushes at the camera to have it removed. He denies having threatened this person."

According to Jan-Åke Fält, there is a preliminary trial date in the beginning of June. The police are not yet finished with their investigation.

"We've taken part in the investigation and are now permitted to comment on it. We will ask for permission for some Dutch people to give witness statements, but we can only wait and see if we can make that happen. I think the chances of release are good."
