Fiction is not reality.

You can enjoy things in fiction that would be awful in the real world. Like playing a murderhobo in a game! In the real world, being or supporting a murderer-thief would be pretty damn awful, while in the game it's just good fun. Same with anything else you choose to do with the pixels on the screen, like kinks that don't affect anyone real, so they're okay in fiction, but would be pretty damn bad in real life.

No one else is responsible for your online experience. They are required not to harass you, but they are not and never will be obligated to not post about ships, kinks, or tropes you dislike just to avoid you seeing them. It's up to you to blacklist words or phrases, block tags, or even block users as needed to avoid seeing content that upsets you.

No one can force you to read anything against your consent. Any content you don't like seeing can be instantly avoided by closing out of the offending post/fic.

You are not owed an online experience free of discomfort.

Nothing that happens in your imagination can ever make you a bad person. Words you write or read about fictional characters will never make you a bad person.

Fiction is a safe way to explore horrifying or confusing concepts. Therapists agree that fiction, even (or especially) about taboo topics is a good coping mechanism, especially, but not exclusively, for trauma survivors. 🧩 What tiny habit of the other do they find unbearably adorable?

🧩 Honestly I think they both just enjoy watching each other but in different scenarios. Gale knows Poppy so well, that he becomes adept at reading her. But when she normally keeps a neutral face, he loves seeing what breaks her, or just the slight twitches of an eyebrow or lip that lets him in on what she's thinking. I think Gale would find pleasure in reading her like he reads an inscrutable tome or some dense report in a scientific journal. Poppy on the other hand loves watching him when he focuses, when he's deep in thought. She loves watching his eyes alight when he's read something interesting, or how his fingers fidget and twirl a pen around just as deftly as she can, or the wrinkle of his nose when he reads something that troubles him. She watches him for the breadth that he expresses, and he watches her for her secrets.

🔥 What’s the pettiest thing they’ve ever argued about?

🎶 *pulls up my weavepop playlist and ponders* I Will Follow You Into The Dark by Death Cab for Cutie. In what I consider to be their modern AU canon story, they listened to this album together when it came out. And that was also the last time they saw each other for a significant amount of time due to schooling, life getting busier, etc, and it's a memory that they would go back to once they reconnected years later. 💕 This definitely depends on the AU. I have not finished my longfic and probably won't, but in that fic I had it happen where Gale realizes after Poppy almost dies during the goblin camp fight. For Poppy, she realized it before him, when he told her about the orb. To The Fault In Our Stars: “As he read, I fell in love the way you fall asleep: slowly, and then all at once.” In a modern au story with less...world-ending events stressing them out, I think that it would sneak up on them. How it actually comes about changes in my mind frequently but it's definitely so very slowly. It would be little things that made them think about it. Like looking through their mothers' letters to each other and finding out that when they were both young and pregnant they had dreamed wistfully of their children falling in love. It's maybe a stranger commenting on how close they seem, maybe making an assumption that they're married.

🔥The pettiest thing 🤔 Nothing specific is coming to mind but I feel as though in some scenarios they would get passive aggressive with each other. They're both only children and I think that sharing space together would cause friction and they might not handle it the best. Poppy would be more used to sharing spaces with others if she's a touring musician but then she has almost stricter rules for herself about how she spreads out her things and takes up space and interacts with said space because a tour bus is Tiny Shared Space. Gale on the other hand is used to being able to go and put anything wherever and I think that they would butt heads about that a LOT before being able to have an adult conversation about it. Oh god and similarly I think that they would fight over how to decorate their bedroom. Poppy keeps things minimal: no TV, blackout curtains, it is a place to sleep and nothing more. Gale would want more design, maybe more purpose, just...more in the space and I can imagine Poppy getting pissy about that.

🎂 How do they celebrate each other’s birthdays?

Gale is consistent in going all out for Poppy. Gale cooks her every meal, makes her every snack. She wakes up to flowers and coffee in the morning but not breakfast in bed because she doesn't like that. She'd rather sit next to him at their kitchen table and enjoy it together. Something Poppy frequently wants but has a hard time finding or manifesting for herself is peace and Gale gives that to her in spades on her birthday. Unless, she has some idea for what she wants to do specifically on that day, then of course he defaults to whatever she desires.

Poppy isn't as...consistent as he would be in making every minute of the day special but she has her own ways of approaching things. She is creative with experiences. Renting out an omakase restaurant for themselves, traveling to Neverwinter to see certain flowers in the Hanging Gardens that only bloom for one day every 4 years, taking a class together on book binding so that he can take care of his books, going to a vineyard in chessenta and crushing grapes with their bare feet. He never knows it's coming, she knows Gale better than anyone and she can tell when he's interested in something enough to make it happen soon after he has thought of it, but she also knows when he is putting it off, for any reason, and is able to surprise him with it, to remind him that he was indeed inspired by the red, red grapes of chessenta that one day and now he gets to feel the sun on his face and the juice between his toes and laughter as she slips and falls (a rarity) and gets grape mush all in her hair.
