Amazing Digital Spoilers for the TADC finale if anyone hasn't seen it yet.
I interpreted this scene as Jax using someone attracted to women/individuals that may present as feminine to make himself feel more feminine.
To explain: I thought it was like "Gangle likes women/people that MAY present as feminine, so if I imagine Gangle as liking me then it would mean I'm feminine/female". Sort of like validating himself using Gangle.
Zooble isn't a woman, but MAY present as feminine because they're genderfluid and do accept she/her as pronouns. Assuming Gangle is someone attracted to women/people that MAY be feminine because of the heavy implication that she's attracted to Zooble sounds a lot like Jax.
As a transmasc guy, I've on occasion imagined myself dating gay men to make myself feel more masculine/more like a guy. I sort of thought that was what Jax was trying to do, just the reverse.
