what’s the bird of august 13th, 1066?
how would i know. That is not today
It’s the light-mantled albatross
well now i REALLY feel like a fool
Can someone explain this to me? I know the date, don’t understand the punchline. XD
Not sure which punchline you want help with. I don’t know how to explain todaysbird’s comment without just repeating it, so someone else will have to help with that. I just thought it would be funny, given that 1066 is a famous year in English history, to pick a bird that wasn’t known by Europeans in 1066, and I like albatrosses. I think the joke in august13th1066sbird’s comment is that they made an account to make a similar joke, but I’d already done so. If that’s true, like many jokes on tumblr the joke (although funny) is based on a lie because they made their account and joke before me and I am the real fool for not checking. Alternatively, they might have said that because they didn’t name the bird and I did. By happy coincidence, they described the day’s bird as “not identified until many years later” “large” and having “at least one colour.” which aligns very well with the light-mantled albatross.
